  1. EAT eat well, I know how that goes, now I just gotta keep doing it. If it goes well slowly start reducing cheese and non-paleo snacks again. Don't stress too much if it doesn't go that well. Accountibility: post cal total per day and median macros for the week, log water too. MOVE The original plan was workout 3x yoga 5x walk 3x I'm not sure how that will hold up under pressure as I seem to forget yoga, when stressed, which is really sad, because that is the time I could really use it. Also I tried out the Crossfit Class and LOVED IT, have had the corresponding DOMs to prove it. AND I didn't connect DOMs with do yoga, I thought I had that connected, but I guess not. MON a.m. Gym (machines, but hey better than nuthin') TUE a.m. possible pool day alone - p.m. Crossfit WED possible pool day with mum THU a.m. Gym - p.m. Crossfit FRI a.m. PT - p.m. Tabata SUN pool day with mum (more social than exercise) Need to figure out how to fit in going for walks and do yoga again, because Strength/Allround Workouts are so awesome atm. EVERYTHING ELSE Breething & Meditation & Dream Journeys Keeping up with threads here Keeping up with my lessons: Hogwarts-Mini Drinking a cup of tea Doing some domestic rangering every day sleep more every day (goal 8h) - almost forgot
  2. Overarching Theme/2015 Manifesto/TL;DR get healthy, get organized, get happy 2014 kind of sucked and I’m happy to see it gone. I don’t feel like I really accomplished any of my goals- I feel very stuck in my personal and professional life, and I feel unhealthier than I’ve ever been. But one important thing to have come from 2014 is that some events, both good and bad, really crystallized in my mind what I want and need for the upcoming year. So, broadly: -By the end of this year, I want to be healthier than I’ve ever been. Lose weight, eat well, sleep well, drink all the water. At the drop of a hat, I’d like to be invited to join a hike, a 5k, a yoga class, a Crossfit class, a pickup softball game, or a lifting session and be able to hold my own. I’ve never been particularly athletic, but I want to get to the point at which I’m comfortable in my own body and feel confident in its abilities. That, and it really kills me how much I can squat or deadlift but I still can’t do a damned pushup, let alone a pull-up. -By the end of this year, I want to be more intentional in my actions. I want to be more purposeful in my actions at home and at work. I want to create a system for keeping up with errands so they don’t get put off until they overwhelm me. I want to work somewhere I don’t hate or otherwise do something to drastically change my attitude here. In conjunction with this, I want to really think about and write out a 5 year plan because I feel like I’ve been spinning my wheels with no real plans and just thinking about how much time I’ve wasted is giving me little panic attacks. Related to this, I need to include in a discussion with my husband and his own 5 year plan, and a financial plan beyond just saving. I want to go to work feeling satisfied and challenged and come home to a calm, clean space that doesn’t stress me out. -By the end of this year, I want to be much happier than I am now. This is likely a summation of working on the above external factors, but it’s also going to be an internal trial. I spend a lot of time in my head, thinking, planning, worrying, analyzing- and not really doing. I want to spend this year being more mindful, grateful, in the moment, taking advantage of opportunities instead of thinking about them to death. For me, pursuing happiness will include meditating, writing, meaningful reading (books, not Wikipedia on my phone at 3am), and making time for myself (girly beauty stuff) and hobbies (learning German, cooking, woodworking, I’m sure other stuff will strike my fancy). Instead of tackling all of this at once, which has led to a lot of past failures, I’m going to try to focus on smaller goals each month. With any luck, I’ll end the year with at least 12 good habits, instead of a pathway to Nerdfitness Hell, paved with good intentions and enthusiasm that petered out by Valentine’s Day. January’s primary focus is getting back in the habit of cooking most meals and eating Paleo. Main Quests: Eat Paleo. More like, pretty much eat Whole30 but without worrying about butter and trace bad stuff. I’ve done Whole30, I understand the purpose of extremely strict clean eating, but I’m not going to sweat it when I smother my 4th chicken breast in two days with Secret Aardvark sauce. That said, avoid dairy, legumes, grains, sugar, processed foods, alcohol, and try to stick to 3 square meals a day, Whole30 meal template style. 90% compliance 2 CON 2 STA. Drink water. Lots! Let’s say a gallon a day. 38 gallons gets my bladder 2 STR 2 DEX. Buy and consume 1 of those big boxes salad each week. If I make a goal about just vegetable servings, I’ll only eat the yummy starchy ones, if my goal is a salad a day I’ll be kinda sad, but this seems doable. Pass/fail 3 CHA. Side-Quest: Journal at least three times a week. This is my way of keeping all the other above goals still swimming in my head without losing the January food focus. 4 WIS.
  3. At the end of summer’s training, Lumbridge Boston awaits. As an aspiring Assassin, I want to be ready to face the parkour opportunities a city provides. Here are my starting stats: Height: 5’ 2†Weight: 110lbs* H2O Consumption: Usually 0 glasses. I know -.- Workout Frequency: … see above *Note: I’m into donating blood, and the minimum weight requirement is 110lbs. I used to be safely at 115. I started eating healthier a month ago (just for nutrients’ sake) but made the mistake of not strengh training [to add muscle mass]. Since I don’t know what effect all of this will have on my weight, I may have to modify the challenge rules to keep me eligible to donate if I drop below 110. C or higher awards skill points. A+ has a bonus. Alright, here we go: GOAL #1: Drink 5 Glasses of Water a Day [+1 STA] I’ve ignored this for way too long. Hopefully the habit will give me more energy. A+ 42 days A 37-41 days B 29-36 days C 22-28 days D 15-21 days F <15 days GOAL #2: a) Eliminate sodas Reduce frequency of dessert/unhealthy meal consumption. [+1 CON +1 WIS] The first part of this is easy for me, so I added a second part. I have a soft spot for creme brulee, ice cream, pudding, etc but only when they’re made available (they usually aren’t at home). Since I’m starting college this fall, I’m getting some discipline set up now so I don’t go nuts. I get six free days to distribute for part B. The grade assigned is for the part with the lowest grade. A+ 0 sodas/36 healthy days A 1-5 sodas/30-35 healthy days B 6-9 sodas/25-29 healthy days C 10-13 sodas/21-24 healthy days D 14-20 sodas/15-20 healthy days F 21+ sodas/<15 healthy days Note: b/c of the blood donation requirement, pastas and breads are allowed. GOAL #3: Do the NerdFitness Beginner Body Weight Workout 3-4 Times a Week [+2 STR +1 STA] A weeks start on Mondays A+ 6 perfect weeks A 5 perfect, 1 incomplete B 5 perfect, skipped 1 C 4 perfect weeks D 3 perfect weeks F 2 perfect or less GOAL #4: Start work on a quality website for my mom’s small business. [+1 CHA] I’m a Computer Science major and have been gathering HTML, CSS, Javascript, jQuery, and other skills with hopes that I will be able to do web development work on the side during college [to pay expenses]. This project may serve as an example I can use in the future, but even if I don’t end up doing that, I’ve been wanting to do this for my mom forever. A+ Start necessary scripting A Start CSS B Get HTML started or finished C Determine necessary/desired features. Plan out layout, navigation, etc. Do programming design on paper BEFORE starting. D Complete research: Gather all necessary info from mom (wants/needs/business info), analyze other websites, figure out what will bring in customers, etc. F Do nothing These grades may change depending on what the process is like after all of the planning. Upon completion of these goals, the Magic Instructor will teleport me to Lumbridge where I can prep for the next challenge. I think I’ll need more than one before I can join the Assassin’s guild. Buona Fortuna a Tutti! Good Luck to All! [i’m learning Italian guys. That’s probably going to factor into a future challenge.] https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AvBGSS3P8muPdE1nVnZZdDJKVFl6Z0ViQVNGZ2llN2c&usp=sharing
