  1. Welcome back to a new challenge. We will not accept any new recruits. However if you are already a doodlie: put the link to your challenge in this sign in sheet, so we know you're in and where to find you This time @Tanktimus the Encourager will whip us up a challenge to help us make a road map for 2017. We will start the challenge December 4th Daily tasks Tasks week 1
  2. The doodlies are back for a brand new challenge! If you want to be a doodlie, I understand, we are awesome. Contact @deftona and she can put you on the waiting list. We've got two divisions: the griddle, where you are now and the nuthouse. Both waiting lists are under Def's control, so PM here for more info. This round we are going to play battle ships. Links to the important documents: Template scoresheet and rules (on the second tab) Sign in sheet (for former and current doodlies) Don't forget to put the link to your challenge on the sign in sheet so we can find you. Important: If you wish to take a week off from this pvp, say so BEFORE that week starts! I'll adjust the amount of points you'll need to make a hit. Otherwise the amount of points you'll need for a hit will remain the same as stated in the sheet. <EleventyThousandAndThanSomething
  3. Welcome back my sweet doodlies <4 We're ready for a new challenge and we are going to be awesome yet again! Do you want to be a doodlie? I understand, we are awesome. If you are on this list, you are free to join us here in the griddle: This list isn't for the nuthouse doodlies! They have their own thread and their own rules. You can find the nuthouse here.
  4. Welcome to the Doodlie Head Quarters We are the Nerd Fitness special forces. To be a doodlie is to succeed! We offer support and friendship. We are your drill sergeant, your shoulder to cry on, your cheer leaders. We love smut, we love perkele party's, we are awesome If you want to know more about us, and learn our language, read the doodlie newsletters. We have our own pvp. This challenge it will be a scavenger hunt. We have two universes: the griddle and the nuthouse. We separated because we grew too big. And we just want to follow everyone and support everyone, and that can't be done when we have to many doodlies. You can sign up here. If you are new to the doodlies, Team Peanutbutter is the place for you. This thread is ment for all doodlies. We post doodlie announcements here, new newsletters and we discuss the current pvp. We are often found in the Yak's Head. This is a line chatroom. If you want in, pleace add me as a friend in line and send me a message, I'll add you to the right line groups. My username is terah_nf Scoresheets: Griddle Nuthouse Update your scores every week, so we can see who's winning Rules for the pvp: Update your scores in the scoresheet before Tuesday, otherwise your score will be "0".Unless specifically mentioned: all items can be collected during the whole challenge, and don't have to be consecutive. So for example drinking just coffee/water/tea for 7 days can be 1 day in week 1, 3 days in week 2 and 3 days in week 4.An other example: you walk 2,5 km on Monday and 2,5 on Friday. Now you can cross off the "walk 5 km's"Everything you do counts for one of the items. So if you walked 10 km's, you can just cross off the 10 km's, not also the 5 km's. If you bike 15 km's it only counts for the biking challenge, not also for the cardio one. But if you, for example, are reading a book during your biking session you hit the biking goal AND the reading goal. Every challenge can be completed 4 times maximum per team. Each time you complete one of the challenges you'll get one point. And most importantly: HAVE FUN
  5. Here we are again, at the beginning of another adventure!! This is one of my favorite times of the year (Autumn and Halloween) so it's time to really take my fitness goals by the horns and ride them to the ground. Really have to get this challenge right this time so why not pick a great theme to go along with it. This time I'm going with another book theme but this one has WAAAAAAY much more source material to play with/have fun with. And the winner is: For those that don't know, the Dresden Files is a book series written by Jim Butcher about the wizard and private investigator Harry Blackstone Copperfield Dresden and his misadventures through the mean streets of Chicago. I've heard it described as a "Philip Marlowe meets Gandalf" series. Told in the first person, you get to see things through Harry's eyes and in his head. I have been reading this series from the very beginning and I haven't been able to stop since! I absolutely LOVE this series (the TV series... that's another story). So, this theme is ON!!! I'm looking to four major goals this time around. 1) Empty Night -- No eating of any kind after 8:30pm every night except Saturdays (36 points // STA +2; CON +1) I really wanted to make this goal more about eating my larger meal for breakfast and/or lunch and then a smaller dinner but sometimes you just have a craving for something hearty after a long day at work. I relax, start watching TV or checking the forums and I tend to snack on crap food. I'm going for the next best thing, cut off all food intake after 8:30pm except for Saturday night gaming night. 2) Infriga/Forzare/Fuego -- Scheduled, specific exercises with two days on, one day off. (28 points // STR +2; DEX +1) Not only do I need to get my exercise game going again, I've discovered I need to SCHEDULE IT!!! Doing that will take the burden off of what I need to do and allows me less room to make excuses. The three workout types I'm planning are for Leg Work (Fuego), Arm Work (Infriga), or Walking/Jogging (Forzare). Two on, One off. 3) Keeping Up With My Allies -- Sustained support to my peeps here. Minimum 5 Rebels and 5 messages of solid importance weekly (Pass/Fail per week // CHA +1; STA +1) I love this community, I don't think I've said that enough!! Anyone that has given me a like, said a supportive or positive word to me, and you crazy lot that follow my challenges, I love you all greatly!! I've had my bumps and bruises the last couple of challenges but I know that I can keep up on it with help and support from you all. So, helping others helps me so I will be making sure I keep up with my fellow Rebels this time along. 4) Not Just Phallic Foci -- Cosplay/Halloween Costume of Harry Dresden for Party just after challenge (Pass/Fail overall // CHA +2) Elaine -- "Still going with the phallic foci, eh? Staff and rod?" // Harry -- "They make me feel all manly." OK, I just remembered that line and it felt waaaay too appropriate but I'm thinking that since I know I will be available for my friend/gaming buddy's Halloween party, I've decided to shoot for doing a Dresden costume/cosplay for the party. Now, I did do one for a convention three years ago and I really just threw some things together for that and it was OK. I know that it's only 7 weeks til Halloween but I think I can put it together. Now, I've seen both the artistic drawings on some of the covers, plus the show and actual book descriptions so I'm hoping to put something together that channels it all together. Here are a few examples: My tentative schedule is here under the Spoiler tag (plus so I can fiddle with the sizing) Now, to officially start this challenge, this quote pretty much shows the focus on I have on this challenge: "My name is Harry Blackstone Copperfield Dresden, conjure by it at your own risk. When things get strange, when what goes bump in the night flicks on the lights, when no one else can help you, give me a call. I'm in the book"
  6. Mini-Challenge #1: Our City is Under Attack! This is April O’Neil with Channel 6 News on the streets of Assassin City (Assacity?) to bring this report on Tiberius the Trumpet playing Bear. Not much to report. Just look at this bear that plays the trumpet. Wow. Truly a thing to behold. Oh no. Do you here that? What is that? **the ground starts to shake beneath Ms. O’Neil's feet and the music gets more dramatic** Hahahaha. Look at this pathetic city. I hear the Turtles and Master Splinter are taking refuge in this city’s sewer system. I plan to find them and defeat my foes once and for all. And there is no one here that can stop me. Hey. Reporter lady. Are these cameras still rolling. Uhhhh… yeah. Then hear me citizens of Assacity. You will give up these turtles and rat to me or I will see to it that you all meet your certain doom. There is no way you can defeat I, the powerful ninja, Shredder! **smoke bomb** Assacity, if you are hearing me right now. It is time to step up. Shredder is planning to destroy your beautiful city and he plans to defeat the ninja turtles. Without your help he is sure to succeed. I know you are all busy being awesome Assassins, but you need to gather together to be ready for the attacks on the city. Call out to your neighbors. Tell them they need to prepare. Motivate each other to get ready to protect your city! Translation: This first week is about coming together as a guild. We’re going to need all of our awesome Assassins to contribute to save our city during these 6 weeks of mini-challenges. So I implore you all to go to other Assassin “houses” (threads) and say ‘hi’ and give a motivational word or two or eleven. Make sure to keep up on updates and say ‘hey, how’s it going’ if they go missing for a few days. Assassins always be lurking in the shadows. Also remember to search for threads with fewer posts, because sometimes those are the ones that need the most motivation We’re going to need all of our awesome Assassiny skills this challenge. We need our muscley BWW peeps to be ready and strong to punch the bad guys in the face. We need our aerialist to be up high lurking in the shadows and ready to pounce on our foes. We need the swift feet of our parkour friends. The climbing ability of our climbers is important in case… climb? (Sorry… sometimes it is hard for me to life properly.) Anywhos, I know that just checking out on other’s threads isn’t particularly challenging especially for such an outstanding guild. So we are role-playing a walking challenge. In order to get to other Assacity houses you got to hoof it there, so this is walking, running, prancercizing… whatever tickles your fancy. So this is basically cumulative guild cardio and the first goal that we have to reach is 1000 minutes. div#progressbar:hover div { -webkit-animation: animate-stripes 0.4s linear infinite; -moz-animation: animate-stripes 0.4s linear infinite; } @-webkit-keyframes animate-stripes { 0% {background-position: 0 0;} 100% {background-position: 23px 0;} } @-moz-keyframes animate-stripes { 0% {background-position: 0 0;} 100% {background-position: 23px 0;} } 100%100% Thanks Harika Update: Well the Assassins have crushed the first task and everyone is alert in the city. But just as everyone has gathered the Foot has dropped in for an attack. 500 Foot ninja soldiers that need to be taken down with punching and kicking. Squat Punch, Hook, Upper-Cut: http://www.warriorxf...t-with-uppercut ** in the video a resistance band is used, but it doesn't have to be used for the exercise to count. It was just the only video of this exercise I could find with someone doing an actual squat... hrrrm. Maybe I will make my own video.** Sit-up Cross Punch: Front kicks: https://www.youtube....h?v=hrWmBde-F_w New spreadsheet is posted underneath. Each Foot is 10 hit points to incapacitate so we need a total of 5000 collective hits and kicks. 251 down! Other rules: - Mini-challenges are not mandatory, feel free to ignore this one if you don't want to participate. Don't let mini-challenge hinder your own goals. - If you're not sure how to register something, post it here. - If you already have some kind of cardio training in your challenge, then yes! It counts for both - Keep it simple! - Don't hurt yourself! There’s a spreadsheet to tally your movements: {completed} https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1y7ydQhqjGWC4kmsWKBzkCoj-4bKsII2p7QrEF_UbWxo/edit?usp=sharing (first task complete, but please continue to walk, run, skip, dance and do your assassiny things and add them to the sheet. This will give me a better understanding of guild participation in the future for better challenge goal setting on my part {new task} https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/16dp2WKD4DCWFgDT0GlydkcNpXc55ul_74xSjzicaYJ8/edit#gid=0 Everyone who competes in this mini-challenge gets +1 STA for making your way around Assacity. Assassins, remember to be safe and have fun!
  7. 3 sentence intro (Hiya druids!): I’m Pretzle, 25, Dutch, of the female sort. I teach English at college, like reading, cooking, good coffee & tea. A former (and future) assassin who has been mostly primal for the past month or so, loves BW stuff but can be a little mentally unstable at times. (This will be 4 but: I’m also looking for some friends (of the online and/or real life versions).) (Also, I write long posts. Just read the bold/underlined/italics and you'll get what I'm aiming for .) Main goal: Become/Stay sane & healthy - whatever happens. Ok, not really ‘whatever’, because sometimes you simply don’t have a say. But whenever I do have a say, I want to do all I can to achieve my main goal. Goal 1: Feed my mind and soul. * Read and study scripture for 15 minutes a day, before bed. I already have a solid habit of reading. I read about a book every week/10 days, so that’s absolutely fine (and fun) in a general sense. But I need sustenance, proper food. I’m a Christian, so I’d like to study the scriptures a bit more than I currently do. Why time based? I’ve read through the Bible in a year before, with a schedule telling me which chapters to read for the day. This means I would sometimes just read as quickly as I could to get through the planned reading. Good for general Bible knowledge and ‘just having read it all at least once’, but not for actual studying purposes. By setting a time goal it doesn’t matter how much I read. I can decide to study a few verses and really think about them. Which would be a good idea, I think. WIS 1 STA 2 Goal 2: Give them what they pay me for. * No work e-mail after 8 pm, only check once on Saturdays. I’m a teacher. It’s normal in my profession to work a few more hours than you’re actually paid for. I’m absolutely fine with that. The thing is, I’m addicted to checking my e-mail (both personal and work… I still checked my uni mail 2 months after graduating - until they closed my account!). I check my e-mail in the morning before work if I have time for it. I think that’s fine - it helps me anticipate some things which will happen (or suddenly won’t happen) during the day. But still mailing back and forth with a colleague after 9 pm? That’s just silly! So to allow me to get ready for bed, and really enjoy my weekends… I won’t check my work e-mail after 8 pm (all days) or check more than once on a Saturday. This will be difficult for me. … Ugh, habits CON 2 WIS 1 Goal 3: Keep up the good work. * Exercise 3 x a week I feel a bit silly for including this, but I’m afraid I’ll slip back into old (ancient by now) habits if I allow myself to do so… I’ve exercised for about 3 times a week ever since I started running in December 2011. I’m busier now with work, though, and the autumn has started and winter is on its way. That’s why I will still include it as a goal, just to keep myself accountable on days I simply don’t feel like it. Forms of exercise will likely consist of: Bodyweight circuits, balancing, Poi, jump rope, swimming, walking, sprinting… Basically bodyweight exercises (which I love) … and whatever else I feel like! STR 2 STA 2 DEX 1 Lifequest: Try something new! * During this challenge do two things I’ve never done before! Tentative ideas: - Go to KB girl’s KB workshop (I’m terrified, but really want to try ) - Go to a classical concert - Send my grandparents a letter explaining what I’ve learnt from them over the past 25 years, saying thank you - Go to a gym and get a PT to explain weights stuff to me - Organise for a native speaker to visit my classroom (the organising part, not sure I could make this happen during the challenge) - ... I’ve actually been doing REALLY well with this particular goal. I’ve graduated, started a new job, tried in-door climbing, got myself a museumcard and visited a few of those (even went to one all by myself)... Still, I’d like to keep it up and expand my horizon even more. CHA + 4
