  1. Hello, all! I just stumbled across this illustrious assemblage and decided to come in. Almost any pursuit is improved by nerdy company, imo. After a pretty serious knee injury at work early last year (I’m a stagehand, professionally), the rehab process has been slow and annoying. My mobility severely reduced and living at the top of lots of stairs until recently, I gained back part of the weight I’d taken off in previous years owing to inactivity and less than stellar food choices. Seamless was both my salvation and the bane of the width of my backside. Currently, I live much closer to the ground, and some physical therapy and a shot of hyaluronen has restored a lot of my ability to move. Thankfully, I just managed to dodge needing surgery. So, while I still have some more rehab to do, the process will only be aided by getting some exercise. Right now, my focus is on hitting my keto macros daily, reducing the load on my knees, keeping up my PT, and regaining the muscle mass I’ve lost. All of these things will be more fun with friends. Looking forward to getting to know the denizens of Nerd Fitness!
  2. Hi there! I met my husband in a video game 10 years ago and a thousand miles apart, and we're happily married with a son who loves gaming as much as we do. I'm also a book nerd and enjoy reading and writing fantasy fiction. I'm not big on TV; there are a few series I'll DVR and watch regularly, but I prefer to do more mentally engaging things. IRL, I work from home producing podcasts for successful online entrepreneurs. I make a respectable income and LOVE what I do. (I heard about NerdFitness when I edited an interview Steve did with one of my clients! Already pre-ordered the book.) Life is good, except for one little thing. I sit. All day. I've already made some changes and I want to keep that momentum going. Here are my goals: 1. Get back to attending TKD classes 2-3 times weekly with my son. Do something physical for 30 minutes on the other days. I read an NF email that suggested strength training, so I'll start there. I did some weightlifting in high school, so it's not foreign to me. 2. Replace a diet soda with water each day. Increase the number replaced each week until I'm down to two diet sodas (can size) a day. Ultimately, eliminate terrible sugar substitutes and cut back on caffeine. 3. Continue to stick to my diet. I'm doing the iWatchBites app (a WW clone), and I've already lost 6 lbs. The most important part is that I'm changing the way I eat, not crash dieting. After four weeks, I'd like to have lost another 8 lbs. And now for phase one of my EPIC quest. It's gotta be truly epic, so I've decided to become a chronomancer and create more time for myself. For this first challenge, I will be going to bed and getting up earlier. It might not seem like a lot, but I'm a hardcore night owl. I lose roughly three hours a day that I can spend doing something more worthwhile and rewarding than staying up browsing weird and randomly fascinating internet sites. Here's my motivation, the thing I need to record here so I remember WHY I'm doing it: 16 years of radio experience, broadcast quality sound design skills, years of voice acting, and wicked efficient audio production and organizational skills. I'm a total package when it comes to helping others launch and/or improve their podcasts, and I've got long term, happy clients to back that up, including one for whom I manage an 8 podcast network. (Begone, imposter syndrome!) I'm ready to add consulting, and in some cases, done-for-you services for other podcasters. While I could easily take on another client or two, if I'm going to scale like I want, I need to start building habits that will provide the time I need to achieve that. So! Nice to meet you, and the pleasure is mine to find myself in such great company. (I'll be joining you soon, fellow Monks.)

  4. Hello world! I found this site a couple years ago before the Nerd Fitness Academy existed in its current form, and made "plans" to join some day. We all know how "plans" go sometimes... well fast-forward to now and the weight that I had just started to gain above a not-great-but-manageable baseline has only added up more. Time to stop the planning and start the doing! Okay, I'm kinda talk about myself a lot now, because what's better than telling your life story to strangers on the Internet? Feel free to ignore me. Stats I'm about a month short of my 1/3 of a century birthday (which I fully plan on celebrating more than my normal birthday), just shy of 5'11", and as of last time I braved the scale, about 215 pounds. I have a build where I wear weight pretty well, such that the first 20 pounds I put on a few years ago was barely noticeable; I went up an inch or two in waistline but I didn't really look different, you know? That let me get complacent and I put on 25 more. Damn. Even in my current state I can do at least 20 pushups, tread water for minutes at a time, and can run jump and climb when I need to... just not nearly as well as I used to. And I get way more tired doing it. Life I grew up in NJ, currently live in Austin, TX with my partner (who I may try to get involved on this site, we'll see how he feels about it--he's skinny but eats terribly and is bordering on "skinny fat"). Also sharing our apartment: an 8-year-old dog Basset/terrier mix who still acts like a puppy, a pushover of a black cat who could use some fitness help himself, and two sugar gliders. By day I work for a software company as a QA engineer. I like my work a lot but I occasionally get some serious impostor syndrome. I've had varying degrees of depression over the years, doing okay right now despite being un-medicated. Yet another thing regular exercise and a better body image would help! Fitness/Nutrition background I generally understand nutrition pretty well--when I eat poorly I know I'm doing it, I just love food and don't have as much willpower as I'd like. I know that good-for-you food can taste good--I've had it, I've even made it occasionally. But bad-for-you food that tastes good is quick and easy, and that's the part that's hard to get over. Fitness... I'm kinda a noob. I've done very little beyond some running around my neighborhood/apartment complex, some pushups/situps, and some very simple weight training--always using machines. Free weights kinda scare me, but I have both an apartment gym and a work gym freely available to me and I know I ought to put them to use. Short-term goals Lose some weight, not be tired getting to my third floor apartment. Do it while living my way-too-busy life. Long-term goals Lose lots of weight, get fit. I'd really like a six-pack one day, but I know that's a long way off and there's plenty of milestones to be happy about before then. Nerd cred I call myself a gamer, though it's kinda gamer-lite. Mostly WoW (Guardian Druid main, Alliance on US-Alleria), occasionally a console game here or there. I like them but other things eat my time and the TV is often occupied. I love board games too, I'll go whenever a friend hosts a session. Dominion and Roll for the Galaxy are a couple of my favorites. I play D&D 4e (Zeitgeist--really cool campaign!) about once a month, as a level 11 Razorclaw Shifter Gunsmith Seeker. I love movies, especially Action and Sci-fi. I love fantasy novels; Brandon Sanderson is my absolute favorite. I like TV but prefer it when I can treat it as a movie and binge-watch. Back in the day I would encourage Heroes and Lost marathons (interested to see how the Heroes reboot turns out, but not getting my hopes up). Nowadays it's usually Food Network. Race to Escape is fun too. The other big part of my life is a local community show choir (it's like Glee for adults) and weekly karaoke. Singing is fun; it makes me actually willing to get in front of a crowd, unlike any sort of public speaking, from which I will run screaming. If you just read all that... Why? I mean, I'm flattered, but wow. That's dedication. You're my new best friend.
  5. Something I love about hero stories is that typically the main character gets knocked down (sometimes very hard), but they have the resilience and ability to get back up. I posted my story in the Respawn forum, but figured I would start a daily log here to track as I work on getting back up. Since I'm coming back between challenges, my goals here are a bit more long term than the focused 6 week challenge goals. Inspirations: Black Canary - Yeah she has sonic super powers, but she trained in classical boxing techniques, and was the hand-to-hand combat instructor in "Young Justice". She can go up against tough villains, and kicks serious butt.Xena - Need I say more? I grew up on those shows, and "warrior woman" is tots my jam.Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson - Do yourself a favor, and check out his twitter or Instagram. He's always so positive about his workouts, and just exudes "can do" spirit.Nikkita - International spy/assassin trying to make past wrongs right, fighting the good fight, and protecting the people she cares about. Heck yeah! The Flash - Regardless of super speed, he's another all around positive dude, who takes care of his enemies with an inspiring level of compassion. Villains: Darth Desk Job - I sit. A lot. I'm an engineer and spend my 8-5 behind a computer.Sally Sweet-Tooth - DAMN YOU SALLY!Theodore Travel Bottom - I have to travel for work quite a bit in the summer, and am usually headed to areas with limited food options. The Stressinator - In addition to travel, my job can be hella stressful, and I'm shit about self care when work hits critical mass. Allies: Husband Man - Not every epic tale needs a love story, but mine has one. Husband Man has my back in any fight, and I have his.Perpetual Motion Puppy - Some side kicks fight crime, others chase squirrels. The Extraordinary League of Family Peeps - We team up from time to time to fight crime, bag summits, and see exotic locales. Goals: Food goals - I've been an ovo/lacto vegetarian for about a year. I'm sticking with that and would like to continue working on reducing the presence of animal products in my meals. I'm also working on eating more fresh prepared meals as opposed to pre-packaged or restaurant meals. Specifics: Reduce meals out to 2 or fewer per week.Only have dairy or eggs in one meal per day.Do weekly meal planning with Husband Man.Hit up the farmer's market at least every other week (when I'm in town) for a veggie I wouldn't normally buy at the super market.Stop visiting the snack drawer at work by planning breakfasts and lunches.Fitness goals - Kick it Canary style! There is a boxing gym near my work, that I'm going to check out.Start lifting at the rec center with Husband Man.Take Perpetual Motion Puppy for a walk before work every day. Bonus mode: get a hike in with her on weekends as the weather warms up.Take lunch walks during the day to get away from my computer (even for just 15-20 minutes).Adventure goals - More hiking, fun travel and playing outside. Non-negotiable quality of life vices: Scotch/whisky/bourbon - I have a couple of fingers of one of these less than once per week (every other week - monthly would probably be more accurate).Ice cream - One scoop or less per week (at least in the summer the ice cream parlor in our town is the best thing ever). Game plan is to earn it throughout the week via workouts and otherwise clean eating. Teaming up with Sally Sweet-Tooth from time to time keeps her in line overall.Video games - FFXIV is my jam, Husband Man and I play with friends near and far, and it's an important part of our social schedule. With the right attitude gaming doesn't have to be a destructive pursuit. I'm a little nervous posting all of this, but being accountable is important, and solidifying and tracking goals is the name of the game. Let's do this!
  6. I was wondering if I could have a bit of gamer help. I have an older computer that's running XP and a bunch of older games. The problem is that I just got a new tv and it might not be compatible with my current older computer setup, which would mean updating the comp, and then I don't know about updating the games. Are there updated versions of a lot of games from the 800x600 resolution era? With the old game running on the old computer with the old tv, it works perfectly, but I might run into a snag. Some games: Diablo 1 Starcraft 1 + Brood Wars Age of Empires II Quake III Arena *Possibly* The Sims 2 I started doing some digging around but I was curious if anyone knew before I started a big search on what I could do in this situation. Thanks!
  7. Introduction: I posted an introduction in the newbie forums, and I think it's a really fun look into who I am and where I'm at--it even includes pictures from our game-themed wedding. The thread can be found HERE. In a nutshell, I'm 27, overweight, and unhappy about that fact. Struggles include a "bad back" and lazy gamer tendencies. Main Quest: Lose 65 pounds overall, to make it to goal weight of 180. Quest 1: Pack a Paleo lunch 5 days per week. We eat out a lot, and eat quite a few carbs, and spend quite a bit of money. This should help with all of the above. Measurement: A = Packed lunch, 30 days, B = Packed lunch, 25 days, C = Packed lunch, 20 days Reward: A = +3 WIS, +2 CON, B = +2WIS, +1 CON, C = +1WIS Quest 2: Complete Physical Therapy 5 days per week. This is a recommendation to rehabilitate my back, so there's really no compromise, here. Measurement: A = 30 days therapy, B = 25 days therapy, C = 20 days therapy Reward: A = +3 STR, B = +2 STR, C = +1 STR Quest 3: Go for a walk, 15+ minutes daily. I'm fairly sedentary, so this will help start building the habit. Measurement: A = walked 15+, 30 days, B = walked 15+, 25 days, C= walked 15+, 20 days Reward: A = +3 STA, B = +2 STA, C = +1 STA Life Quest: Get out of debt Goal 1: Track expenses in YNAB every day Measurement: A = 42 days, B = 36 days, C = 30 days Reward: A = +2 CHA, B = +1CHA, C = +0.5 CHA Motivation: I'm tired of being ashamed of my body, and more-so, I'm tired of being in pain daily. Losing weight will help with both of these.

  9. Okay so I lied, it wasn't a galaxy far, far away, it was just this one. And while we're at it, it really wasn't that long ago either, I'm only 28 after all! It does however seem like a lifetime ago that I used to dance. Ballet, and then Ballroom after falling in love watching the pro's waltz around big halls in all their feathered and spangled glory. Ahh afternoon television, how you've changed. But alas, it just wasn't as cool as hanging around town doing nothing with your mates, and so the young teenage me quit. Fast forward fifteen years later and switching street corners for sessions on multitudes of MMO's and RPG's, I find myself with a few too many lbs that need shifting and the strength of a wet noodle (unless you count my mouse finger, that thing's a beast!) It was roughly a year ago that I decided something had to be done about it. I wasn't particularly happy and I'm well aware that I actually enjoy excersing. Unless it's running. Been there, tried that and a runner I do not make. Full of good intentions I signed up to a good gym I'd been a member of years before, along with a friend of mine in the same boat. Things were good at first. We would swim 40 lengths 3 times a week, and soon I managed to persuade her to set foot in the actual gym and we got ourselves a trainer. The problem was, despite telling him I wanted to get strong, my friend wasn't sure what she wanted other than she wouldn't do it without me. And I was okay with that because I have social anxiety and I'd rather not be alone either. So our trainer, bless him, gave us a mix of cardio on the machines and 3 reps of strength exercises using weird 6kg rubber tube...things. It was fine for a while until friend went on holiday. And then went on holiday again. And again. You see where I'm going with this? As previously said, I have social anxiety so when she wasn't there, neither was I. A week soon turned into a month and then most of winter. The lbs crept up again and I got desparate. Come January I announced we were going to start Zumba. There were loads of classes running and I'd heard good things about it. Oh. My. Gosh. For the first time in years I was flailing my arms and flicking my legs in ways I hadn't had to since my dancing days. And it relighted that spark in me, that passion I hadn't felt in years. One day a week turned into five. One dance aerobics class turned into two and a burlesque class. I can safely say I feel more at home in a studio with a sprung floor and a wall of mirrors than I do in my own house now. I even go alone, anxiety be damned! But I realise that it's mostly cardio and a lot of cardio eats muscle as well as fat, and I don't want that! (Hey look, I rhyme ) I've had people tell me that I should cut back on the cardio but noooope, not happening. So I'm guessing that means upping my game with the weights. I still have noodle arms, but I have managed to double the weight I can manage. Problem is I can't afford a trainer anymore and have no idea where to go from here. I've poked around here some and from what I can gather I fall in with the assassins, so I'll say hello, even though I can't join you guys until I've completed a challenge. And a big hello everyone else too, because yeah, let's be friends! Anyway, sorry for the huge long rambling introduction and I'm sure I'll see you around!
  10. Good day everyone! My name is turbo when in The Matrix, but since we are in the real world, you can call me Jon if you like. I'm on a path to find the one. Not necessarily the one as in a person, but the one way I can live my life to the fullest. I'm currently 5'10" about 235lbs. My friends and family are nice of course and say I don't look it but, I feel it. I work at a desk all day coding, and by the time I get home, I'm not very motivated. This will change. I enjoy gaming, zombies, writing, and coding. I do the occasional Zombie Run or Mud Run for fun. My ultimate goal is to hit just below 200, run a half marathon without stopping, and never look back. Wish me luck everyone, it'll be one hell of a mission!
  11. Hi all! I've joined the chat a couple times and really enjoyed meeting a couple of the regulars in there - Ratchetz (sp?), Catspaw, that other one who changes her name based on what she's doing..., spezzy, and that's just from memory. I can tell that The Rebellion is going to suit me just fine. Lessee... I'm 27, been married for a year. I was in the best shape of my life before my long distance boyfriend moved in--but, as they say, love causes weight gain! I was on track for a while, and even did numerous 5k, including the Warrior Dash, then I had a major set-back. I developed a back injury, seemingly out of nowhere, that set me back considerably. I found it difficult to work out due to muscle spasms and nerve pain. I've regained about 23 pounds over the past year and a half. You can't out-run the fork, especially if you're not moving. I've gotten the issues mostly under control thanks to the help of regular chiropractic care, but I'm still working on physical therapy to re-condition the muscles. It really doesn't help that I'm so overweight. I love to play PC games--I've been playing a lot of Guild Wars 2, and I'm gearing up for the release of Wild Star this weekend. My husband and our friends play board games (like Firefly, and Risk), and card games (MTG), as well as console games (we had a Mario themed wedding). My real-life end-game would see me at about 180 lbs, having fun in 5ks and not experiencing chronic back pain any more. Currently, I'm 243, have back pain daily, and I'd be considered sedentary except for the fact that I stand all day (even though I work at an office). The mini goals that I have to get to the end-game are to: 1. Participate in my first 6-week challenge (I'm already signed up!) 2. Transition to a paleo template 3. Remain committed to daily physical therapy I'm really inspired by everyone's PRs and accomplishments. If you'd like to welcome me and inspire me, tell me (in short) where you were when you started with Nerd Fitness and where you're at now. I love to read success stories. Best, Aminarra
  12. Hi there, When I stumbled upon this site I thought I was dreaming. Nerdy goodness meshed with fitness, I signed up quicker than you can imagine. I have spent a long while being lazy and not getting myself in order, worrying about others first and putting myself last. This goes as far as family, friends and even acquaintances. I have had to learn a painful lesson in life that it is not anyway to live. So, it is time for me to take a stand and get back in gear for me, myself and I. A few things about me, I am a comic fan, gamer, love movies and sports too. I am happy I found this little place on the web. I am brand spankin new, so I have some more perusing to do on the site. I do welcome any suggestions and friends to join me. Chrissie
  13. I'm Bubbly Oasis, but you can just call me Bubbly! I'm a gamer who's into everything from video games to tabletop RPGs to arcades and laser tag! Unfortunately, I also suffer from being overweight and living an unhealthy lifestyle. When I saw the success stories for Nerd Fitness, they made me believe that I can change my life for the better as well. I've wasted a lot of time trying "get skinny quick" methods, stuffing myself with supplements, and endlessly failing to show up to the gym for work-outs due to one excuse or another. I've also struggled with depression and anxiety for most of my life, but through everything, I try to stay positive just like my inner child. "I wanna be the best, like no one ever was!" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qyXTgqJtoGM I'm really hoping to connect with some people here in the forums. I have a lot of friends IRL, but none that I can trust to keep me accountable with this, mainly because many of them are stuck in the same situation I'm in. So, I'm open to joining a party of other Nerd Fitness Rebels! I'm looking forward to meeting you guys!
  14. I guess I'll start here, hello everyone, my name is Knichtus. Do not let the masculine name fool you as it always does I am female (however I feel more comfortable with a male persona so he or she is fine though i really prefer he ) *cough* Anyhow. I am right now a student at University of Texas at Dallas (just turned 18 actually), my goal is to become a Design Engineer, double majoring in Engineering and Arts and Technology (yes i know, this is gonna take me like 8 years, I know.) However I strong with the one thing that every Monster Hunter needs: self-esteem. Monster hunter is my favorite game, I love the though of running around, gathering materials and beating up epic beasts on a daily basis, which is why it landed a spot as my favorite game. I love drawing, and placing ideas on papers. Sci-fi is my favorite genre and i hope to be able to create things for and from that. However for me to accomplish my goal I need confidence, I wanted to start getting healthier but just the thought of doing exercises fills me with anxiety to the point of panic attacking, judged for eating healthy makes me stop breathing from the stress, like the constant feeling of piercing glares watching my every decision. This effects me with everything, art, homework, trying to make a comment in class. I've been getting therapy for it but still its hard, I can only function minimally without feeling like I'm being watching doing anything. The only way to work out is for me to make it like a game, something like...I'm fighting or in a battle. (wielding weapons, I used to do Brazillian Jui Jitsu) I am right now 5'2" (shortie) at 163 lbs, instead of ogre I like to say I'm a were-american badger or bear (i love animals and have the temper and tenacity of both), my goal isn't necessarily to lose weight but I'd like to become stronger, I have uncontrollable strength already so I want to get more of handle on it and increase it. I hope to base my workout off play and monster hunter things, my body has to be completely involved to get interested and entirely focused. I asked as my christmas gift to get me a shot loadable sledgehammer and a tire. My goal is eventually to get a medicine ball or rope. I love biking, especially with my dog, however he's too small and lazy to keep up with me constantly so I'm hoping a larger dog I hope to be adopting will be ready to join me on my adventure. (Typically bikejoring and mountain biking) I hope while I'm here that I can build a good base and reach my goals, it is nice to meet everyone!
  15. Aloha everyone! Greetings from Berlin, Germany! So a little about me. I'm a British born 25 year old currently living in Berlin in the gaming industry and really looking to step it up in terms of fitness. Being a gamer and being interested in fitness, it was a no-brainer to come here and speak with like minded people about topics we are all passionate about. In terms of sports and fitness, currently I am focusing on weight and strength training solely. I was a former member of the British Kendo Team but since moving to Berlin I have had to take a step back from kendo due to work. I can only really find the time to train first thing in the morning or late at night (luckily the gym is open 24/7!). So why am I here? Well, like many here I am really looking for a little external motivation, as I lose it too quickly. Even seeing the results I have made so far, I find myself getting complacent and saying "I can go to the gym tomorrow" or "it's ok to eat this, I can eat better tomorrow" and for some reason, I really do better trying not to disappoint people. When it comes to games, I love MMORPGs and currently playing Neverwinter and just recently dipped into Defiance (not very Fantasy RPG like, but its still pretty good). Also loving the MOBA genre and especially League of Legends. If anyone needs someone to explore a new MMO or need a duo partners for LoL, just let me know! I am down for anything. If there is anyone in Berlin looking to geek it out or head to the gym (currently my gym is at Alex), then just let me know! Ciao!

  17. Hey Everyone, I had caught myself looking at Nerd Fitness a few times via Google searches on various healthy topics. Specifically I saw that the owner of the site is a fan of Henry Rollins - Iron and the Soul piece which is a big plus in my book. What really drew me in though is unlike other forums (T-Nation, BB.com, etc...) the commenters seemed more human and "everyman-esque". After wrestling with the idea a little bit I've joined my first fitness forum! A brief background on myself: In October 2012 I found myself recently single, broke, and grossly out of shape. I'm roughly 5'9" and weighed 281lbs. I won't bore you with the details but long story short is much like "Saint" I made some bets with my buddies for competitive purposes and started taking steps to improve my health. By March 2013 I was 250lbs and by May 2013 I was 225lbs. It's now November 2013 and I've done more strength building than cutting but my weight is a trimmer looking 220 lbs. I'm still a work in progress and I'd like to be an exceptionally strong 200lb - 205lb monster when my goals are met! I was wondering if anyone can recommend a good place to start contributing to this site. I love heavy lifting and I'm not afraid to do cardio either. My eating habits are relatively clean and I have some good all around insight into people trying to lose weight and gain strength. I've prepared routines for my friends and have lists of clean foods as well. More than anything I am always interested in learning from other people and would love to share ideas. Also what are these guilds I've been seeing? Can someone point me in the direction of the powerlifting nerds who love shows like Firefly and Game of Thrones? Loving the book Beowulf is a huge draw as well I believe that's a banner I could march under!
  18. I've been looking forward to this for a while. I joined NF about two weeks ago, and I've been doing my prep work for the challenge. A bit about myself, I'm scrawny, weak, and miserable. I started working out using the UFC Trainer for the XBOX Kinect, and have seen some noticeable differences over the past month. I've actually enjoyed pushing it, working out, getting better, and I keep at it as often as I can. Nerd Fitness gave me a new perspective; a way to plan out how my workouts will go, and what goal I can achieve at the end of them. Since we have some challenges here, I'm going to list each one and how to go about doing it. My Main Quest: After finishing up the last five days of my endurance training, I want to do the thirty day STR training for the UFC Trainer. I missed some days of my endurance training due to laziness, so my main goal for the STR training regimen is two-fold; not miss a single scheduled day, and to complete every single exercise. I'm not entirely sure how well my physical results are going to build up, or how much of a change I can predict, so I feel more comfortable with setting this minimal of a goal before jumping out and saying something naive like "I want to double my weight in a year in sheer muscle mass". So end game: Complete STR training Regimen for the UFC Trainer. Move on to the Advanced Endurance training if time permits. The three ways I plan to accomplish this are: Wake up early, cut out being lazy, and do the blasted work. My Life Side Quest: This is a basic and simple one; to finish my collegiate degree. I've made some mistakes, and am currently attending a community college with a minimal course load, working towards an A.A. My Motivation: Sturm Brightblade from Dragonlance; A Knight in Words and Deeds. So this is Day 1 of the challenge. Thus far, I'm a bit off-track; I woke up late, and instead of getting to breakfast/workout regimen, I'm procrastinating my workout by posting this.
  19. The art scene is one of those places where everyone is a friggen hipster in skinny jeans. Not that I have designs on entering hipsterdom, but I would rather not stand out as the fat girl in the gallery. There is definate snobbery about a person's look going on. I think it would help my confidence talking to gallery owners if i lost 60 pounds,30 of which piled on as I got my degree. When I'm not painting I have my own business of painting on found tea cups. I also play phantasy star online 2 (jp server because Sega hates North America. Ship 10 and ship 2.) and Ragnarok 2. Steam name is WonderlandAlli. To be honest I spend way more time painting than gaming. I also teach art after school programs and want to teach high school at full time. Thanks to an intolerance, gluten free almost two years and planning to go full paleo.
  20. Hey everyone! My husband and I just got our FIRST EVER TICKETS TO COMIC CON! Obviously, I'm very excited about this prospect - I've been wanting to go for years. So who else is all going? We should meet up! If you've been there before - what would be a good place to meet at? I'm not familiar with the layout or any landmarks, but it sounds like a great opportunity to meet fellow NF members! I originally thought about posting this in "meetups" but not everyone who will be there is originally from the West region, specifically. This seemed like the best place to reach most NF members. Also, share your stories from past Comic Cons or even other conventions!
