  1. Hi all! I'm heading to Indy for my first ever GenCon, with a booth and everything (3060 if you want to say hi ). If you're also going to GenCon, sound off! I'd love to say hey to some fellow rebels, and if any Indy people have any gym suggestions for downtown for us out of towners that would also be awesome, 'cause hotel gyms XD
  2. Pretty excited to be back on another challenge. The break was good for me, I may have taken a bit of advantage of the rest. I continued to eat well and do cardio, but I did not keep up with my push-ups and sit-ups. I guess that is why we have breaks? I have dropped a few more pounds over the break – 3.5 in fact. I am down over 50 pounds since the December holidays, 6 inches off of my waist. Nerd Fitness works for me, and then some. I have really been building up my cycling. I have gotten much better at multiple rides a week over 2 hours in length. If I keep at the plan, the century ride in September seems like a real feasibility. This challenge is going to start out rough – I am on the road for three days this week, literally driving 1,600 miles in 3 days. So I will have challenges working out or eating on plan… if there is anything I have learned in the first 3 challenges I have done, a few days off don’t matter. It is what we do with the other days. My Main Quest – To ride a Century by November 2015 (This is the LONG term quest, along the way I will drop weight, eat more paleo, get more sleep, and other positive life changes). I have gotten where 35 miles is no problem – 1/3 of the way there. I have joined a training group for a 12 week program to make it a reality. My SMART goals for this challenge will be the same as the last challenge; if it ain't broke, don't fix it: · Comment on other people’s threads each week (I believe the social part of NF is a critical element. Community and accountability are essential.) A -15+ comments, B – 11-14 comments, C – 8-11 comments, D – 5-8 comments, F<5 comments · Posting on my progress – This continues to be very therapeutic for me A – 6+ times, B – 5 times, C – 4 times, D – 3 time, F- 2 or fewer · Eat Paleo meals (21 possible meals per week) Diet is equally important to exercise. Paleo is working for me. Rarely hungry, who knew? A – 14+ meals, B – 10-13 meals, C – 7-9 meals, D – 4-6 meals, F<3 meals · No eating after diner (this one comes in waves) A – 6+ nights, B – 5/4 nights, C – 3/2nights , D – 1 night, F – zero nights · Get 7 hours of sleep or more each night (most proud of this during the last challenge) A -6+ nights, B – 4-5 nights, C – 2-3 nights, D -1 night, F – zero nights · Workout 5 times a week (Bike, Spin, Run, Body Weight Workout, whatever... I know I need to the cardio to burn stress from everyday life) A – 5+ times, B – 4 times, C – 3 times, D – 2 or 1 time, F- zero · Core exercises – two of them to keep me going · 50 Push Ups Each Day A – 6+ times, B – 5 times, C – 4 times, D – 3 time, F- 2 or fewer · 60 Sit Ups Each Day A – 6+ times, B – 5 times, C – 4 times, D – 3 time, F- 2 or fewer The reward for all of this, I will be getting a new wardrobe. Since starting Nerd Fitness I have taken six inches off my waist. I had to buy size 32 shorts for the Summer. I am back to my weight from 1999. I am sleeping better than ever, feeling better than ever. Interesting side benefit, my feet have gotten more narrow. I used to have to buy wide shoes, but now they kind of feel floppy. So that is a good thing! I guess 50 pounds less mass pushing down changes everything. Thanks for keeping me in the rebellion nerds!
