  1. It’s a HELA good challenge for Terra In the world of Marvel, Hela is the daughter of Loki and the Goddess of Death. She is power hungry and always looking to take over… I haven’t ready many of the comics but I’m sure many of us will learn more about Hela in November. For now I’m going to focus on her powers and abilities. Hela is a powerful Asgardian God. She is strong, fast, agile and durable. 1- When wearing her cloak she is far stronger than most of her race. So I am going to focus on strength building this month. I am working through the book Simple and Sinister, which is about kettlebell use. I love the simplicity. Bottom line is that two exercises is all that I need to do, once I get the form down correctly. There are some stretches that are recommended, but the focus will be on KB swings and get-ups. And I plan on doing this at home in the mornings before anyone else is up. When I was successful in the past morning workouts were key. 2 - Durability is another thing I want to work on. I don’t want to be fragile and weak like Hela is without her cloak, so I am going to focus on cloak building. Paleo eating is something that keeps me healthy. So I need to keep my food 95% paleo. And I need to increase my vegetable intake. While eating paleo I can still sometime be lacking veggies. So I will track my veggie intake this challenge. 3 – Hela is armed with her “Nightsword” and I have my weapons too… this is my standard BJJ class goal. I am the best weapon that I have and honing those skills is necessary. 4 – Hela can command the dead, but I am not dead. I want to live life to the fullest, which hasn’t been easy over the last year. So I am gong to focus on a couple of simple thing to improve my enjoyment of life!!! 4.1 Read Essentialism: the Disciplined Pursuit of Less. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0753555166/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 4.2 One way to improve life is to make things simpler. So I will take one day, August 25th and I will spend that day de-cluttering. I’m going to begin in the dinning room. 4.3 I’m always looking to improve relationships with my daughters. I’m currently reading Dial Down the Drama: Reducing Conflict and Reconnection with your Teenage Daughter. So far I like what I am reading and its giving me tools that I need as the mother of two pre-teen daughters! Somewhere at home (my laptop, I think) I have a calendar of the next 5 weeks where I will track my progress. Tracking is something else that I will try to do this month, creating a habit of tracking. It isn’t a goal, but it preparation for next challenge when I plan to make tracking my activities a goal!!! Introspection: The past 1.5 years have been hard and things have gone undone. The stress of not taking enough care of me is getting huge. I am not living the way I want to live and so I am going to, once again, put my focus on taking care of me (so I can do more for others) and enjoying all that life has to offer... I just have to reach a little farther than I did yesterday!
