Before posting this, I read the Nerd Fitness Official Stance on Supplements thread. I do agree that we can get enough nutrients by eating whole foods and etc. However, I plan on supplementing first until I am able to sufficiently eat variety of nutritious food, get the hang of cooking/meal prepping, and my gut stops hurting. Then, once my body starts healing and getting better, I plan to wean off the supplements. Right now, I'm not taking too much of anything (plus, they're expensive)... just fermented skate liver oil (for A, D, E, K) and probiotics (for my gut). The thing is that I have read a lot about magnesium lately and how it works efficiently with vitamins D and K, plus its 300+ effect on our body's hormones/enzymes (the science stuff gets my head spinning). I want the magnesium to be the last and final supplement to take to recharge and heal my body. However, I heard that magnesium is quite notorious for its explosive side effects (diarrhea, nausea, and abdominal cramps). I was wondering if there are people in Nerd Fitness that does use magnesium supplements and if so, what brands do you use that not only works, but doesn't come with the explosive side effects, LOL. Any help would be much appreciated.
