  1. Hey everyone, hope your challenges went well! This was my first time doing a NF challenge so I'm not really sure what to do now. It says that the next challenge isn't until 25th September, so we have a week break inbetween. What are we meant to do during this week? Do we keep going with our quests? But then that's not really a break. But lounging around the house eating junk food and not exercising doesn't sound like something we should be doing either.
  2. Hey all! I'm just starting to get into fitness, and was curious about the workout structure. I did the test to see what workout series I needed to start out with, and I got 3A and 3B. My question is, when I work out do I start with 3A, and when I'm done with that do 3B, and then after that do the boss battle in the same workout? It seems like that's the case, and I'm sorry if this has been asked already, but I looked around and didn't see an explanation. Thanks! OA
  3. OK somehow I posted my new challenge to the old forum so am copying and pasting to the correct forum Posted 13 September 2015 - 05:25 PM I've been away from the challenges for a couple of months and now I'm rested and rejuvinated it's time to respawn. My goal for this challenge is simply to climb back on the NF wagon gently by making life as easy and stress-free as I can. This will involve: 1. Walk! STA+2 CON+2 CHA+1 Fairly simple to explain, I'll just strap on my pedometer, get up and walk around. A = 221k steps and over B = 211k - 220k steps C = 200k - 210k steps F = Under 200k steps 2. Organise! DEX+1 CON+1 WIS+2 CHA+1 Using a blend of the techniques described in Marie Kondo's book, The life changing magic of tidying, the philosophies found in James Wellman's Stuffocation, and the topics covered in the 15 days to a new organised you articles at www.athriftymrs.com I'll be getting my act together this challenge and making life easier for myself. I have worked out 15 categories to cover so I will spend at least 2 days concentrating on each category. I'll record what I am doing on a chart and this will probably involve awarding myself shiny stickers for keeping myself on track. A = 25 days and more B = 20-24 days C = 15-19 days F = Fewer than 15 days 3. For the rebellion! WIS+3 CON+1 CHA+1 There are so many hard-working and inspirational people here at NF that I really want to get back in and surround myself in it all. Perhaps I can pick up some of that awesomeness via osmosis diffusion. So every day I will read another person's challenge, battle log or NF article and will make at least one positive comment. I'll be treating this as a "hard hat" challenge for the whole 6 weeks. Pass = Never miss 2 or more days in a row Fail = Miss 2 or more days in a row

  5. I'm not that new to fitness, but this is my first time doing a challenge here, so wish me luck. Main Quest Keep gaining muscle and decide if I should lose a few more pounds or not. Practice my form to begin Starting Strength next year. And learn to post here, with english not being my first language. Missions 1. Practice handstand 5 days a week: 5 = A, 3 = C, 1 = D, 0 = F If only to show off and build more arm strength. 2. Post at least 3 times per week: 3 = A, 2 = C, 1 = D, 0 = F I need to form the habit if I want to be able to finish the challenge. 3. Do Interval training 3 times a week: 3 = A, 2 = C, 1 = D, 0 = F Side Quest Make someone smile and do not freak out with exams and deadlines. Motivation: Working out helps me deal with stress and it has become a fundamental part of my life. It really helps me deal with my hiperactivity and puts me in an awesome mood. Stats Weight: 132.5 Ht: 5ft 1in -I need to learn how to take BF %-
  6. Western Rebels, I have a question! I was looking through the programming for Nan Desu Kan (NDK, Denver's largest anime convention), which is coming up this weekend. I noticed that on Sunday morning, there's a fan-run panel entitled "DYEL? Nerd Fitness". The guide summary says "... crash course on why health and fitness is important for everyone, including nerds. Plus, learn some easy ways to get stated and stay healthy." I am curious, is this a coincidence? Or is there a Rebel in the area who's going to be running this panel? If so, I'm most definitely showing up to support!
  7. The Art of Manliness Podcast #42: Level Up Your Life With Nerd Fitness & Steve KambI wish I caught this before I left this morning. Will have to wait till I get home to listen to it. - Daniel
  8. Hello NF! Can't wait to get to know you on this NF journey! Starting out, I am 25 and at around 220 lbs. (my scale batteries died so I am not quite sure ). I (finally) joined nerd fitness to actually get my butt in gear! After having a couple bad exp. with my intsetines, I no longer want to exp. that kind of pain again. so with eating right, a supportive community, (you guys), and a NF plan (or two) I will Height: 5'4" Weight: 220 (guesitmate...) Goal Weight: 145 - 135 Other weight-related goals: Being able to have defined waist and hips (will happen thru weight loss..., but still!) Headstands & backflips? (it would be really cool!) Doing those complex yoga poses (with ease) Not being addicted to sugary products (being able to say no!) Healthy paleo diet master! feeling strong and confident! (and looking it too!) I'm sure there are other goals besides these, I'll add them in later when I think of them.
