  1. Salutations and good health! I am pleased to have found the Rebellion after mourning the decay of Fitocracy for many years. I have been doing some kind of fitness activity for the past 15 years, but as an overweight office worker it is easy for me to fall out of shape quickly. Recently, the romantic siren call of the Triathalon has caught my ears and I am toying with preparing for one. I've never done a Tri before, and the last time I buckled down and did a training plan (6 years ago) I ended up getting freaked out after getting kicked in the head at a lap swim and yelled at -- if I can't be brave in the pool, how would I withstand Lake Michigan!? But I am a mom now and have taught my daughter that being scared is part of being brave, and so I am ready to try this again. Only ... I don't have a swim suit. Or a bike. And I haven't run a mile all year. Last summer I ran with a friend, but we did slow-paced intervals and I want to be a 30 minute 5K gal. So I'm basically re-spawning. My challenges three are for each aspect of the Triathalon.... 1) Run a 13 minute mile (I know I need a 9:30 for my speed goal, but I can do speed work later) 2) Buy a swimsuit (anyone have a recommendation for large bellies and long torsos?) 3) Save $50/week ($250 total) toward a new bike Here's a picture of my secret possum scarf -- a very expensive silk vestment I purchased to enchant my work day. It is like a cloak of invisibility for anxiety. On the outside I look competent, but secretly I am a shrieking anxious possum. I'm ready to possum-shriek my way through a triathlon! Or at least through the first baby steps of training! My name is Aubrey, but y'all can call me Aubrazilla
  2. Hello, all! I was on here a long while ago working on my fitness and am returning several years later (and several years older - welp!) from an entirely different country and with completely different goals, ready to work on myself again! 😄 Back then I was in my late teens and concentrated heavily on cardio and studying to great success, but I also had far less to contend with back then. I'm quite a changed person now, with a job I love in a city in England, an intolerance to lactose that I was free of as a youngster (boo), and an only slightly detrimental work ethic (total workaholic, need to work on that) - plus a newfound desire to work on self-care since I seem to let that fall second to just about anything to do with work 😂 The preliminary goals I've outlined for myself are going to be: Eating nutritiously and healthily and not just whatever's there/quick. Exercise for mind and spirit. It used to be such a powerful tool for my mental and emotional wellbeing, and I hope I can refind that now! To learn a new skill that's personal to me. I'm leaning towards learning BSL currently as I feel quite strongly about it. Self-care and to utilise my free time in the evenings or days off not just to 'rest for work tomorrow' but to do things for me. The biggest challenges, I think, will be exercising (as this is practically a foreign concept to me now) and studying (something I haven't had to do in, really, any capacity since, well, since I was a student! Haha!) I'm planning on digging up the old Nerd Fitness bodyweight exercise videos I used to love following. I'm also a huge lover of kpop and dancing as somebody who used to be a dancer, so hope to learn a few of the dances as a fun thing to splice into a routine. And now that gyms are starting to re-open I plan to find some classes I can go and attend, namely beginner Pilates as I'm very flexible but have never done anything exercise-wise with it, which seems like a shame! I'd absolutely love to meet some people here and get chatting, so if you're open to it feel free to shoot me a message and lets be friends! I've got today and tomorrow off of work and my plan is to sift through the forums to remind myself of how the monthly challenges work and pick up some tips, and then plan to sketch out something of a routine for myself - so exciting! Thank you so much if you read so far! Its so great to be back again. 😄
  3. Hi, my name is Ayman, I am 17 years old, I live in Bangladesh and I am in high school at the moment and I am very new to nerd fitness. I am here to focus on some of my short term and long term goals and make some friends and find some partners to hold me accountable because inconsistency is an issue I always dealt with in the fitness department of my life, and I'd love to make some new friends too. Cheers to everyone on their journeys and I'll list some of my goals and I will be updating this post hopefully on a daily basis. Long-term goals: 1. lose weight, become lean (particularly around the chest and stomach area) 2. Increase strength (concentrating on arms and legs) 3. Get ripped up! Short-term goals: 1. Workout 4 times a week, building up a habit so that I maintain consistency 2. Eat more healthy (cut down sugar, dairy and snack foods) 3. Be able to do 10 push ups without fidgeting 4. Meditate after my workout and before sleeping, everyday 5. Regularly update this post
  4. Hello all! I am a 38 year old woman in Las Vegas, NV, new to this whole board and forum. I've been doing Keto or Low Carb off and on for the past few years, and have lost over 50 pounds. I had knee surgery over summer which set me back a bit so I am hoping to get back in the grind along with the new year. For fitness, I tend to gravitate more toward free weights, yoga and body weight workouts. I have gone through the Strong Curves program a couple of times, but am hoping to up my level and maybe even find a few local nerds to get my sweat on with. :D I work in Education, and in my free time enjoy playing DotA2 on Steam, listening to true crime podcasts or crocheting. Excited to be here, and nice to meet everyone! :) COME AT ME 2020!!! XD
  5. Hi! I'm Dehlia. I'm 31 and I'm from Denver, CO (Though I also spend a lot of time in Brooklyn, NY) In my searches for exercises and advice I kept coming across this website, and liked what it was about, so I'm finally joining, as the title indicates. I've had issues with my weight since puberty, mostly due to depression. About a year or so ago I was able to lose around 20 pounds, but I've had some set-backs since then. Stress, annoying life incidences, job changes, moving, and traveling have made it difficult to keep on a consistent plan, especially being an emotional eater like I am. Most recently I was doing well with my work outs but had to have my gallbladder removed, and as with any abdominal surgery this meant at least 2 months without doing any strength training while my insides healed. I'm back to square one and having to (safely) ease myself back into my routine. I'm also living in a house with individuals who love to snack as much as I do, except they have no problem buying tons of sweets and making me suffer I prefer weight training, yoga, pilates, and light cardio. Anyway, here's some stats. Starting weight: 190 Currently: 176 Goal (for now): 150 Height: 5'2" Besides all that, I work from home, I love to travel (mostlyforkpopconcertscoughcough), read, write, cross-stitch, watch bad movies, listen to true crime podcasts, collect crystals, and dye my hair. I also recently started streaming on Twitch with my best friend, where we talk about 90's nostalgia, horror movies, music, and whatever else catches our fancy that day (twitch.tv/blahblahblahclub) Thanks for having me
  6. For 35 years he has travelled the world, searching for truth and meaning. He has ridden the storms of the 7 seas and experienced the beauty of numerous lands. Having trained in several schools of knowledge, but mastering non, he searches still... ... aimless, except for the constant drive to seek what is missing... ... without direction, but with a desire to be better... ... borne from self-reflection of the innermost sanctuaries of the heart and mind... ... he comes. The time is ripe, his goal is sure. The field of battle awaits. Coming forth into a new dawn, he chooses a faction, a guild of brothers and sisters. Ones who, like him, were once lost in a world of self-doubt and misery, but now shine like the sun with the bright rays of strength and determination. Now I truly begin my journey... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hey all. That's my story. My name is Tim. I'm 35 years old. I have a wife and six children. I'm active duty and have served with the US Navy for 16 years. I've lived in constant flux with my weight, habits, and plans. I've been fit, then out of shape time and time again. I'm sick of it. Now that I've found a place where I can merge my love of fantasy with the desire to lose weight and get in shape, I hope I can stick with it. I look forward to meeting a lot of you and working with you toward common goals. Main quest: Lose 60 pounds by 2019. Basic quest 1: Eat for fuel, not for fun. Basic quest 2: Cardio / strength training 3-4 times / week for 2 months straight Basic quest 3: Yoga / Tai-Chi 2 times / week for 2 months straight. Side quest 1: Earn Bachelor's Degree by 2019. Side quest 2: Help someone else join the rebellion.
  7. Hello everyone, i'm Buddah, or Brett which ever you prefer. I started my fitness journey last year on march 1st. I'm down a little over 100 lbs. So i may be new here but i'm not new to trying to get healthy. I'v been slacked more than i wanted to in February, so i'm hoping getting more involved in this community can help me get back on track. I'v got at least 50 more pounds to lose. Thanks for any and all support.
  8. Hey guys! So, I've just been browsing the site, clicking different things, seeing what does what etc. I couldn't help but feel it's slightly out dated! The site as a whole is awesome, and I'm sure took quite a bit to get where it is, but it's seems quite old school too! With things existing now like Reddit, Slack, Discord etc. there are some small quality of life things I think would be awesome to implement! Just tossing ideas out there to ponder on and maybe try out some day (: 1: Discord. Discord is an awesome app that was originally built for gamers but is now used by many different communities. (I know I mentioned Slack, but TBH Discord has a lot more benefits, runs a lot smoother, and offers a lot of free utilities that Slack does not.) I think it would be an awesome, easy, cheap addition to the community. With control over different Roles, Channels, Categories, etc. the possibilities are virtually endless. It would make for a more updated and streamlined way to connect. I have built a couple servers myself, one for my group of close buddies to hang out and game on, another for my school. The school is more interesting to me as it's holding a lot more people in it, a lot more active with a ton of different roles/channels etc. I passed ownership of it over to the CEO of the school after building it and teaching them how to use it. I think it would be an awesome way for people to connect. You could have it set up similar to the forums, with categories for each guild, events, etc. It would be amazing! 2: The tools used to build the sites! I think it'd be super awesome to see AT LEAST the main site transition to a React build. React is awesome. Facebook made it. It basically creates single-page UIs. Which is awesome, because less data usage, smoother transitions, and more. I'm fully versed in the MERN Stack, (MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, Node.js) and the things you can build with such a set up are AMAZING, appealing to look at, and fun! 3: Finally, a redesign of the forums. I'm sure the forums have been home to many people for a long time. And it's unique, and a cool place to get a ton of information. But it could use an overhaul itself. In the back of it all, there are so many links, reroutes, etc going on it's crazy. And the design is super old school. And that's okay! But it could totally be updated and rebuilt to. Again, throwing React out there. Because the technology is very strong, and growing every day, with new packages and tools being added all the time. I found an example of a React based forum called reforum. Should be the second or third result in a Google search if you wanna check it out! There is a live demo of it on herokuu. It seems to load very quickly, and the current settings can be easily adjusted and modified to look prettier and fit the needs of Nerd Fitness. Anyway, that's the end of my suggestion list for now. I don't mean any harm by it! Just simple things I notice as I'm messing around with things. Even if none of it is implemented, definitely check them out and give each tool a chance! If there are questions I'd be happy to dive deeper in to it all!
  9. Hello! I am a recently career changed Software Developer, 4 weeks from completing Lambda School. Awesome place I highly recommend if anyone is interested! That aside, I'm here to take control of my health again. Before school, I was an Assistant Store Manager for some weird gas station/restaurant place. It was fast pace and endless hours. The money was *decent. It was the first time in my life I was close to making 40k in a year. Every job before then was at or below 20k. So it was a huge difference. The workload was not worth it though. To put in perspective, I was averaging 75 hours per week. Days were any where from 10 hours to 16 hours, depending on how busy it was and if employees wanted to actually show up for work. I could go on in detail about how terrible that place was, and how the software they used is so bad it inspired me to really push to get in to software engineering (something I've wanted to do for years now to begin with.) But I'm not going to! I will however, talk about my health and life events. You see, last year, I was a die-hard fitness geek. I was a gym rat. I followed Jym Stoppani, subscribed to his site and competed in the SS8 challenge last year. It was intense. It was amazing. Life Changing. From left to right, the picture with the newspaper was the start of that competition. I started around April 12th, 2017. The second was on my completion, around June 16th, 2017. The workouts were long and intense, the diet was killer! But it worked. I spent roughly 25-30 hours a week in the gym. My wife supported me, spending a couple hours every few days prepping meals for me. Between that and the long hours at work, I couldn't have succeeded without her helping. It was intense! But I felt amazing. It was the leanest I had ever been. Just before completing the challenge was when I had received my promotion at work to Assistant Store Manager. That's where the challenge got hard, but I persisted and I completed it! It was super low carb, and extremely low the last couple weeks of it. I weight 140lbs at the start of the competition. At the end, dry weight was 129lbs. Low carbs at that weight was essentially 1 piece of bread for my carbs for the day. It was terrible! So..naturally. What happened after completion? Carb frenzy! I had originally planned to take off two weeks and just chill, then kick back in to start bulking up. Well. I bulked up alright. Just not in the way I should have! Instead, I slacked off and struggled to get back in the gym. The long work hours really killed it for me. I had little desire to do anything when I got off work but go to bed. I was up at 3 am, and didn't usually get home until around 7:30/8pm. I didn't typically have time for any sort of break at work. If I was lucky I could shove one of their nasty fried eggrolls down my throat between paperwork and dealing with guests/vendors/employees. So, that brings us to pic three. That was taken in August, just 2 months after that competition. I was up to 152lbs, which was my original weight before getting heavy in to weight lifting, and before getting in to Jym Stoppani's workouts and meal plans. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't where I wanted to be. So I had tried to get back on track, and failed. Many times. By December, I was still hovering around 150lbs. So it was livable. Ya know. Whatevs. Back in August I had received my invitation to join Lambda School. A new approach to school, and a chance and an awesome career change. I put it off up to December for the sake of saving up money for the holidays. December came, I turn in my two weeks notice and was out. My class started the beginning of December. It was exciting! The school is 40 hours + a week. It's a full time job, without the pay. It's intense. It's hard. Sometimes you want to break things. But it's an awesome change of pace and a great mental challenge. I absolutely love it and I'm excited to start a career in Software Development. That being said, fast forward to today, and the final picture. I'm at a whopping 178lbs! Like...WHAT?! When I was legit bulking and trying to put on muscle mass I struggled to get myself above 160lbs! I ate more back then than I do now. I am far from active due to the class. But I guess that's an excuse to be honest. I can't afford a gym membership currently, I definitely can't afford (nor do I really want to go back to) any supplements. (Jym's programs keep you loaded on tons of supplements.) I would love to achieve my physique from that competition WITHOUT supplements. Just good old strict clean eating and hard effort. My struggle. I've never weighed so much in my life before. It's had obvious effects on me. From more aches and pains than ever to struggling to walk my dogs. It's terrible. I had a lot of guidance and direction back then. But I could also afford it. Now, I can't. So, I came across Nerd Fitness. And the community seems amazing. I'm excited to get started, and am open to any guidance, suggestions, ideas etc. that any one has! I look forward to meeting and training with everyone! -Fork
  10. Hey Everyone! I decided to join the community to try to have some support during my journey of trying to tone up and lose fat. Also, I joined so I can learn more about what my goals mean and how to more effectively reach them. Even though I do have a good amount of knowledge on health, food, exercise, mental health and wellness and things of the like, I just thought that joining a community reaching different health goals could help!
  11. Hi there! Newbie here. So. Here is a LONG story shortened. 36 female Mother of 2 Work from Home Thyroid Cancer @ 20 Thyroid (and all the goes with it) suppressed for medical reasons (to avoid more cancer) so my metabolism sucks but I try not to use that as an excuse... I play the cancer card ALLLL the time though ;-) High weight 250 (probably a bit more but around there I stopped weighing myself) Last year cleaned up my eating a bit, moved a little more and lost about 40lbs Current weight 220 (it was 210 but I got a little depressed and lost all will to move and eat things that weren't greasy and cheesy) Trying to get back on track, getting WAY overwhelmed on the interwebs. Eat this not that, muscle confusion, DOMS, rest days, intermittent fasting, keto, paleo, walking, running, go barefoot, get a yoga mat, buy a Fitbit (that one I did)... my brain is fried. I came across this program/site/community a while ago and am back to see if it can help... I've lurked on this site for a little while. Never committing, never joining. The time has come. I have finally had too much. Too much information, to much trial and error, too many tacos... I digress. I'd like some input from people, ladies or gents, that are similar. Anyone with thyroid issues? I've searched the boards and haven't come up with many posts. Also, I want to know if anyone has done the private coaching. Likes? Dislikes? Worth the $? And how it's different from the Academy. Also, thoughts on the Academy in general. I am about 99% sure I am going to get Academy and really looking hard at the private coaching (depending on cost). I know, I know... it's an investment in me, and my health and all that. If I say I don't have the money I am saying it's not a priority...that being said, my kids like to wear shoes and eat lunch, so it would be a credit card charge and a long time paying it off I imagine (although I don't know the cost yet)... So yeah. In a nutshell; tell me all the things that you think about all the things I've thought and I will read them all! Looking forward to learning and making progress, big and small, with all of you.
  12. Hi guys, I am a traceur and regularly do calisthenics. Its good to be a part of this forum and learn from others

  14. I know I am late to the party a bit and I hope that's still okay! I just joined up and will be working on This challenge run! I'm looking forward to getting to know people on here, hopefully I can find some folks in Chicago to help me on this adventure! I hope these goals are flushed out enough and meet the requirements for this group! Over the next 4 weeks I want to complete the Beginner Bodyweight Workout Cook 3 times a week instead of ordering in Walk through 1 new part of my city each week Get through my Software Engineer Training Program I am hoping through these 4 weeks to get a solid foundation to start my progress through this journey! Thank you all for the support in this! Izy
  15. I typically tend to be more of a stalker uh, I think the appropriate term is lurker. But I read somewhere that is discouraged here . . . . so be warned, I'm rusty on social cues. I found this through a MFP chat. I'm already following a fitness routine, but this seems neato, so I'm checkin it out. I'm fortunate that my mom always raised me to strive to feel comfortable with myself and never really emphasized being pretty (plus being an only girl of 4) led to me not really paying much attention to my body until my Doc told me too. So here's me: clinically obese (though I still think I carry it well, but I'm not one to lack confidence), with BP of actively stroking patients. I have already lost 14 lbs since August, and I'm only 6 lbs from my checkpoint goal, and the barrier mark between an obese BMI and "overweight". So first step: not be obese, hope that will help ease the crazy BP, but we'll reevaluate from there. Second step: continue to be awesome, whatever form that may come in down the line. See you all on the other side
  16. Hi, Been looking at NF for a couple of years (I know!), finally decided to take the plunge and see what its all about. Basically, never had much success or staying power with exercise, have been going to the gym on and off for a couple of months and want to try and focus now. I'm really interested in trying out lifting, rather than my normal (unsuccessful) attempts at running etc. Just completed my benchmarking and started looking at the workouts, but am a bit confused. I'm starting at Bodyweight Workout 2A, which is great - I'm not quite at the bottom! I don't really know how to plan these workouts, how often I should be doing them before levelling up, how to mark them as completed etc. Any help would be appreciated. In the past, I've always tried to have very rigid workout regimes as I'm rubbish if left to my own devices, but these inevitably fail when I miss one as it breaks my routine. I know I need to look at this far more flexibly but not really sure how/where to start, so am just copying my wife's workout at the moment. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks all!
  17. Hello, all! I'm not the best at introductions, but I thought I could spend forever lurking and reading, trying to figure out how to join... or just jump in with both feet. I used to be really fitness/diet-oriented... maybe a little too much, maybe a little too extreme. It consumed my whole life, to where there wasn't much room for anything else. Eventually, I wanted to let loose a little more, I started really focusing on my career, joined in an amazing and supportive relationship... but for the past two years, fitness and healthy eating has slowly been slipping to the point where I trick myself into thinking it's still a part of my life. But in reality, it's been months since I've exercised, I've been eating indulgent food constantly (and my ever-climbing weight reflects that), and I've been feeling stuck and sluggish. It's time to have a hard talk with myself and go for a reboot! There's got to be a good middle ground I can strike here; it shouldn't be all or nothing. I'm not sure what part of my health I should try to tackle first... I tend to try to change too much too fast, get overwhelmed, panic, and roll back past square one. I was thinking maybe dialing down my diet first, and I say "dialing down" because I love to cook. I love to try new recipes; the more complicated and impressive, the better. But healthy? Not a high consideration. I feel like that's a good place to start, but it'll take some deep breathing and gentle reminders to keep it simple. I mean, making roasted veggies can be as fun as making a vegetable galette with herbed vegan 'crème fraîche' and fried squash blossoms, right? ... Right? I think I just need to shift my mindset to be a little more self-care oriented, but it's tough. Or maybe I need to get an exercise routine down first? Anyways, I'm here to make friends and play nice; I know it's much better not to do this alone, and I'd love to meet and support some folks on a similar path! For NF itself, is the best thing to do to join a Challenge? Start a Battle Log? All suggestions are happily welcome, and it's nice to meet you, in advance!
  18. Hi everyone! I am new to the Rebellion! I have already posted two questions and have received replies that have made me nothing but more positive. I really do love it here. I am still learning to navigate, and I am super excited to try a 4 week challenge when the next one starts. So here is my story for those who would like to get to know me: I am a young female South African, 25, 154cm height. BMI .29 (considered obese). I am a little person in this huge world that it, yes, trying to get smaller. I have been struggling on and off for over a year trying to lose weight and get fit. Of course no one ever decides to lose weight and then actually loses it without also making the decision alongside to be serious, dedicated and disciplined as well. Only the past 4 months have shown me some results. Small results, but nevertheless they are still there. I was concentrating on resistance training, and then for the past month I have also added strength training. I have about 20-25kg to lose, give or take. I have made the decision to start working really hard for it this month. My main concentration will be my weight training alone in the mornings and dumbbell routines that I do with a friend in the afternoons. I will also be adding in some HIIT and Yoga. So I am planning to have a lot of fun this month while creating everlasting habits that will keep me fit throughout my future life. I am also on a paleo diet of only meat, vegetables and now and then some fruit. The only things not paleo are my protein shakes. I try to keep my calories up to 1200. I have been told that I can eat more than this and still lose weight. I know that I can eat more because of my training and still lose weight but I eat like a bird and veggies keep my calorie count super low which makes it difficult to sometimes reach a higher caloric intake (most of the time I even struggle to reach 800). I also don't want to force myself to eat more than I can fit in and overfeed myself unnecessarily. I use the application Fitnesspal as my food diary. It helps me keep track easily. My goal this month is drop one size at least, and I have made the decision to be discipline enough to reach that goal. I will be forcing myself not to be lazy and to complete all my exercise tasks even when I really don't want to. There are posters of beautiful fit women all over my gym room to help motivate me and I have a file where I will record all of my progress and activities. This helps me with motivation as well because I love planning and recording things. I am a "list-person" if you know what I mean. I am very excited to be a part of this community and to have somewhere I can turn when I need advice, inspiration and motivation. Also, I am happy to help anyone wherever I can as well. My advice might not be abundant as I am still a newbie in all of this but I can help motivate and inspire where I lack any advice or knowledge! We can all accomplish our dreams and reach any goal that we set for ourselves. Cheers!
  19. Hi there, I'm Salmah, from Australia. I have a love-hate relationship with exercise, diets, reaching my fitness goals, etc lol. Just joined this forum so that I'm not alone on this journey with all my issues Cheers
  20. Hello, friends! My name is Nicole... looking to reclaim what has gone missing over the last four years (mainly, my strength, agility, energy and focus). Maybe also my size ten jeans. I'm not really sure what else to say - I've become somewhat reclusive outside of work and family events, and I'd like to venture back into the land of the living. Happily married, two fabulous teenagers, and in my mid-30's. Just wanna get my groove back! See y'all around!
  21. "until I took... an epilepsy... to the brain..." Doesn't quite have the same ring to it, huh? Greetings, fellow dragon-slayers, fellow tome-readers, fellow spell-casters! My name's Carly, and I was here a very long time ago before running into health issues very suddenly, and very early in my path to become the badass elfin huntress I'd always dreamed of. Fast-forward several years and I'm back, bigger, better and 'more diagnosed' than ever! Treatment is in the works now and I'm crawling back to my feet again, but now seemed as great a time as any to start making small-steps (maybe picking at the miscellaneous quests, ya'know? Skirting around the main questline?) into my own health and fitness journey again! I also haven't a clue what to add, but I can't wait to become a friendly face around here and meet new people! Thanks for listening, traveller! - Carly
  22. Morning crept up over the horizon on the shore of a small island. The red sand shimmered and gleamed as the rays began to tickle them and spread warmth across the deserted beach. On the very edge of the beach, was a small figure. She was disheveled, her long brown hair tangled and knotted and green eyes were red from tears. Her toes had dug themselves into the cool sand and she sat curled with her arms hugging her knees. There were no tears now, they had dried themselves up and she looked weary. As the sun ran across her and began to warm up the sand around her, she blinked and closed her eyes, a look of peace coming over her face. Yes, it was time. She leaned back and stood up, shaking the loose sand from her baggy clothes. They were very large, hiding a large frame and the draping fabric made her look even bigger. She looked out to the ocean and smiled, a determined look in her eye. “I will return.” she said, looking out at the dark water longingly, before turning and leaving the beach. Hello all, my name is Cassandra and I’m a mermaid who has been banished to the land and longs to return to the sea. I’ve allowed myself to descend deep into emotional and physical depths in my time, but I know that if I work hard I can become happy and healthy with my new lot. Perhaps it will even allow me a chance to return to my home! I suppose in general, I wish to become a fierce warrior and healthier to boot! I’d love if you’d help and follow me on my journey to be a better me. Also, anyone know where I can get a decent kelpshake around here? One of the worst things I miss from home… But I suppose that’s the lot of a landlubber! My goals for the first month of my new journey are as follows! 1. Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger (exercise for at least 30 minutes, x5 days a week) 2. I ate what? (keep a record of the food I eat, be it through pictures or trackers) 3. It’s a masterpiece! (finish x4 pictures of my art to-do list every week) <- please note I work very quickly on art, so this could all be done in one day if I sat down and did it, tbh 4. Rinse and Repeat (up my laundry game and do x2 full loads every week) I have already had a tutorial week since my introduction to this amazing community and have nearly fully succeeded in my goals! Okay, well I made the exercise goals and missed the first day for food… And no art… But I’m working on it and I’m striving to work that much harder! After all, who doesn’t want to level up and be an amazing, fierce, mermaid warrior?!
  23. Kuros, through passed down stories that have become nothing more than legend, is known to most as the "Knight Warrior of the Books of Excalibur," but few would know it upon meeting this unassuming hero. Less bulky warrior and more agile ranger, with a mind sharper than any blade (except Brightsword, of course), Kuros is a servant of light, far more humble than the picture this old keeper of lore will paint for you. Always cloaked and seldom seen, it would be easy to mistake him for an assassin (a poor one at that if he is indeed seen), or a scout. Alas, this is not the case. Jack of all trades, but a master of none, except maybe stillness of mind. The sum total of his attributes is what makes him a force to be reckoned with. Any obstacle or any foe can be conquered, and the only limiting factor is his force of will. With the proper application of blade and bow, mind and manners, Kuros can equally well disarm both the hound of Hades or the daughter of Zeus. Ironically though, given his tremendous capability and power to sway the forces of evil, Kuros has not been seen for many years, and as we approach our darkest hour, the world needs all the heroes she can get. Whispers on the wind have become widespread rumor, and these tell of a broken husk of a man that was once humankind’s staunchest advocate. It is said that he has withdrawn from the world, grieving for a loved one who has passed from this life. If Kuros happens to be reading this right now, know this. This world is merely a doorway to the next life. You will see your beloved again, but not yet… not yet. Take heart. There are many more beautiful lives to preserve and the darkness is ever encroaching. The bell has been rung and the hour is now. The time to reforge ourselves into something new, something stronger, is here. I call upon all the hesitant and all the eager heroes of the world. Our world is at your mercy. Will you not answer her call? Hello everyone and sorry for the over the top RPGing. I had serious fun with that. I'm really looking forward to this experience. Such a cool site and idea. Anyways, my real name is Mike, I'm 27 years old and I'm looking to get fitter than ever. How fit? Like Gimli and Legolas had a baby and that kid grew up in the wild raised by wolves and surrounded by orcs level of fit. I like to do a little bit of everything to be honest with you. Traditional strength routines, cross-fit style circuits, sprint workouts, distance running, and climbing. If anyone's in the Idaho Falls area (just about to move out there from Virginia), let me know if you're looking for a workout partner. Also, that list is by no means exhaustive. I also like to snowboard, play ultimate frisbee and competitive online video gaming. My xbox live gamertag is Terra Unu if anyone wants to add me. Right now I play Overwatch and Left 4 Dead 2 (yes I know it's old) mainly, but I also occasionally get on Battlefield 4, Halo 5, Destiny, Diablo III, Titanfall 2 and Call of Duty: Black Ops III. My favorite games of all time are Rygar, Wizards and Warriors, Donkey Kong 64, Goldeneye, Nightfire, Halo, Left 4 Dead, Jak and Daxter, Champions of Norrath, Fusion Frenzy, World of Warcraft, Counter Strike and the original Star Wars Battlefront games. This last part I'll end up posting in a more appropriate section of the forums, but I thought since I'm introducing myself, I might as well introduce another idea that I think would be great for the site (or terrible, not sure yet). What do you guys and gals think about all our character profiles and quests being accessible via a facebook-like network? I personally think it would be cool to check out and gain inspiration from other people's profiles and keep in touch with one another via a facebook-like interface, but in the style and format of this site with this specific community. Or should I just shut up and go use facebook? Ha, anyways thanks for reading and rebel on. Mike (AKA, Kuros) https://www.nerdfitness.com/character/191847
