  1. What do you guys do for post-workout nutrition? By that I mean the first thing you consume after a good workout. I've recently taken a liking to a quick baked sweet potato in the microwave usually with some greens.
  2. So I am a new member here at the nerd rebellion and have just started to do the beginner body weight workout every other day with a light cardio day between to keep myself active and on track. (I'm a student, I have a lot of free time). Currently I have really bad DOMS in my legs and arms, I have tried ice baths/ice packs and heating pads (hot/cold alternating every 10 mins) to relieve some of the symptoms and speed my recovery. Just curious if there are any other ways to help relieve DOMS other than those two methods???
  3. Hello! In the last few weeks, I've started Crossfit. Like everyone else, I love the variety, being able to compete against myself and others, and the comraderie. I thought I was in pretty good shape before - wrong! I am a female in my early 30s and have been strictly following a Whole 30 lifestyle for over three weeks. Since beginning Crossfit, I've pushed myself (in a good way - aka "not getting hurt"). There have been two times when after the workout, I seriously thought I was going to barf! Once a few weeks ago and again today. I didn't throwup, but I had to walk outside for some fresh air and give myself a couple of minutes to just breathe and recover. This is my first topic post, but I've been reading NF blog postings for quite some time. I've tried Googling this "issue", but a lot of what's out there is someone's personal account. I'm not looking for that; we all know what it feels like to barf or want to puke. I'd like to know why - is it physiological, related to diet, etc, and since NF has answered a lot of my questions, I'm hoping my fellow nerds will come through once again. Thanks!
