  1. This is really my first foray into the community (even though I've silently stalked this site for years). Are any of you guys around the Middle TN area? I'd love to find a couple people to meet with regularly and find awesome cool things to do together.
  2. Anyone in the Southeastern Tennessee area, like Cleveland, Chattanooga or Ooltewah? I'm in Cleveland and would love to meet some local fit nerds. --Bela
  3. Hey, I'm getting moved out to TN soon, and I'm going to need to find a new gym. I'll be working Franklin (Cool Springs just off I-65), and probably living in Spring Hill. I'm hoping to get some suggestions from others about good gyms. Needs: Good free weights section (I do SL 5x5 and prefer a few different squat racks and other barbell areas so we're not all vying for 1 spot) Showers/lockers Prefer: Access to cardio machines too (elliptical/treadmill) Yoga classes at good times before and after normal work hours Really nice but can live without: Sauna/steam room Jacuzzi locker room towel service I currently have a YMCA membership at a Y that has all the above. I've tried out the Y in Franklin, TN and it is very new and very pretty. It's also got a miniscule free weights area (1 squat rack, 1 deadlift area, etc...) and the yoga classes offerings are abyssmal. If I'm going to have to have a gym membership and a yoga studio membership, I need a cheaper gym than the Y because a yoga studio is expensive typically. My internet searches seem to yield yoga studios and strip mall sorts of gyms that don't appear to have good free weight areas. Next time I'm out, I will of course try some of them, or at least tour them, but I figured if there were locals about, maybe someone knew of other gyms like a Y that have that broad offering? Or if not, know of a good lifting gym and cheaper yoga options? Thanks in advance
  4. Hey All!! I'm looking for a Rebel supporter/sidekick that either works at Nissan North America in Smyrna or knows someone who can provide me with support and accountability in getting back into a healthier way of doing things. I've slipped pretty bad over the past few months and while I'm not un-fit I'm not where I had hoped to be. I work afternoon shift on the Truck Line so if you can help or know someone who can help I'd be oh so grateful. I find that getting back on track is easier when I have someone besides myself to hold me to my promises. My family doesn't get it and most of my zone co-workers look at me like I've grown multiple heads when the healthy foods start showing themselves in my lunch box so it would be great to have someone like minded I could go to when I'm tempted to fall off the resolve wagon or need just a nudge in the right direction. Wouldn't mind a pre-shift workout partner either. Thanks in advance! Kristina
  5. Hey guys! I'm fairly new on the forums, but i just wanted to make sure as many people as possible knew about the upcoming parkour jam in a couple weeks. The current community in Tennessee is growing by leaps and bounds (pun intended) and we usually hold at least one jam each season with a different city hosting every time. There are concentrated groups of practitioners in the Nashville, Murfreesboro, Chattanooga, Fairview, Cookeville, and Knoxville areas just to name a few. If you want to find a community to get stronger and progress in, go ahead and check out this: https://www.facebook.com/groups/273954675347/ We would love to see you at the Spring Jam! Event details are here: https://www.facebook.com/events/546349148816278/?ref_dashboard_filter=upcoming. Don't stop moving, rebels.
  6. My husband and I will be moving to Dickson Tennessee, about 1hr west of Nashville, in December and would like to meet up with some rebels in the area. I’m also looking for a personal trainer, some fun ways to stay active and just some kool like minded people to hang out with. Hope to see you soon! =)
  7. Hello fellow nerds, My name is Zack Barnes, and I am trying to level up my life. I tried the paleo diet last year and it worked great, LOVED IT. However as income got tight and I slipped and had some fast food one night I slipped out of it. I am currently starting my 2nd heart on Link's screen. A new life persay. I have to start my quest to level up once more. I just moved to Murfreesboro, TN and I am looking for new friends around the area. I lived in Huntsville, AL with a few nerd fitness junkies down there and it was great, I had a lot of support out of them. So thats what I am looking for up here! I am currently at MTSU at for a Bachelors in Bussiness and Management. I work at The Home Depot in Smyrna as a full-time Appliance Sales Specialist. I want to become a fit assassin once more. I no longer want to live a "used to life" anymore. I want to be fit and in great health again. I have been on a destructive path over the past few years with my health. I am currently over-weight and trying to lose 50lbs and keep it off. I am trying to build up my strength as well. I WILL get to my goal and sustain it, I will level up my life and become the rogue I want to be again. I plan on starting the paleo diet again. I am looking at starting a regiment at MTSU's Gym to get back into shape. I want to be able to go out and rock climb again too. I want to be able to parkour again also. So, if there is anyone in the Middle TN area that also wants a new friend, contact me! Thank you for being here fellow fit nerds, Zack Contact: Personal: http://facebook.com/inukid My Hobby's Site: http://facebook.com/kousagicosplayphotography
