It's a marathon, not a sprint

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone. Once upon a time I had an account on here, but I want to start fresh this time. Every other time I start a weight-loss/fitness regime, it becomes all-absorbing. I obsess and then burn out quickly. What I need to remember is that it's a marathon, not a sprint. It's a lifestyle change, not a temporary switch. I'm dedicated to this being the time I do it, without all the weight (plus plus!) coming back. Having tools to maintain will really help, and that's part of why I'm here - so I can find that kind of social support to help me dig into the process even when I think the work's done. My wife and I are planning for children, and I was at the point where I couldn't chase my cats effectively to cut their claws. And if I can't do that, how am I supposed to keep up with a toddler?

Anyway, I'm glad this is here, and I'll be back!

Welcome back, Bodhiwan! Turning your life around is definitely a "slow and steady" endeavor. Long term, sustainable changes are what you're after!

Best of luck with your goals. It sounds like you probably already know your way around the forums, but don't hesitate to ask if you need help with anything at all. Everyone else here is on the same journey as you, so we're happy to assist (or even just cheer)!
