And while it's a little frustrating not have a set routine, I haven't let that stop me from exercising anyway. I'm always better off doing something and fixing it as I go, rather than sitting around as a couch potato until I have the Perfect Plan(TM). I am going to be taking page out of this book starting today. Orthopedist told me what I was expecting to hear on exercise for the next couple of weeks, so time to figure out something other than binge watching Netflix. 2 Quote TANSTAAFL! Hazard
Auto-regulation in action. Ramped to a Top Single, then one 90% backoff set, and three 80% backoff sets. My press and front squats have detrained a little since last time I did Top Singles, but not by much. I'm happy with this workout. 2 Quote You haven't seen my Final Form I Stand With Gina Carano Link to comment

Yeah, pronated grip or neutral grip dead hangs are the good place to start. Builds grip strength so we're confident holding onto the bar. Nice thing is, deadhang hold time tends to increase pretty quickly with regular training. 2 Quote You haven't seen my Final Form I Stand With Gina Carano Link to comment

Hazard
Heeeey look at that --- I put the barbell on my back instead of my front for a change. Though I struggled a bit getting it, and keeping it, situated in the right spot across my back. My shoulders - left shoulder in particular - are apparently not as flexible as they were when I used to back squat regularly. But we'll fix that. Stretchy stretchy. 2 Quote You haven't seen my Final Form I Stand With Gina Carano Link to comment

Wobbegong
This is really late, but regarding getting the most bang for your buck from buying whole chickens... You were talking about how bones and skin and juices tend to be "waste" food for you, but if you're eating that many chickens, why not make your own chicken stock? Or find a neighbor who wants to and sell your discards to them at a reduced price? (Sometimes people can find chicken carcasses for free, so there might not be much reduction on that.) It's easy and delicious and you can use chicken stock in all sorts of things, or even drink it straight. 3 Quote Link to comment

I use the stock 1-2 times a week to make rice. Beyond that, I don't really have a use for more stock. Outside of chicken, my diet mostly consists of bagels, cheese, bread, icecream, flavored water, and soda. I suppose I could dip my bread slices in chicken stock . 3 hours ago, Wobbegong said: Or find a neighbor who wants to and sell your discards to them at a reduced price? That's a neat idea. I favor that entrepreneurial spirit. Thinking this through. Chicken stock at the store costs about $1 per half-gallon here though. It would cost me $100 to file articles of organization to form an LLC through which to sell the stock in order to protect my family's assets from potential lawsuits if a buyer tried blaming my stock for their illness. And another $35-ish per month for extra liability insurance in case lawyers successfully argue their way past LLC protections. I'd have to sell over 50 gallons to make up for the LLC filing cost. And over 4 gallons per week to cover the insurance. I don't eat enough chicken to make that much stock. It was a nice idea though. 3 Quote You haven't seen my Final Form I Stand With Gina Carano Link to comment
