Noddy enters the Historic Ruins

Noddy has a mission. She needs the money to buy proper gear, so she definitely needs to solo the dungeon alone. She's always been a lone wolf. It has prevented her victory many times, but she really has no other option as LFG failed miserably. But this time... this time she'll reach victory!

 

 

Here's for her main quests:

 

Learn skill Firestorm

Noddy needs to be fit so she can learn the two component spells and launch them into one powerful magic attack.

 

  • Hit the gym at least 2x week;
  • Eat BLE modified version + record it on MFP;
  • Make notes of weight and body measurements.

 

Gather relics from the trophy rooms

The dungeon has several bosses and trophy rooms. Noddy has to collect relics from all of them and sell them later to make money.

 

  • Plan at least 1 weekend in a different country;
  • Plan visit to Portugal;
  • Check nearby heritage.

 

Form a guild of allies

Although she's gonna solo the dungeon, Noddy needs allies on the outside, to help her with new adventures. She really needs to start being a better friend.

 

  • Speak with friends;
  • Plan days out.

 

Reach current gold cap

Noddy had a lot of gold saved up but spent it all on a new mount. So now she needs to do it again to buy new gear and possibly a house in the not so near future.

 

  • Save for new gaming laptop;
  • Start new extra savings account to buy a house.

 

So... let's see how this goes since it'll be my first challenge ^^ I'll probably check in weekly since I already have my grinding log in which I put my foods and exercise for accountability purposes.

So yeah, I'm portuguese even though I live in south UK now. I go there a few times a year. But I really have to go to do some blood tests next time xD 

 

Otherwise I barely know Europe and I really want to visit all these countries. Unfortunately it's been hard for us to get extra money/time to travel. Most from my bf part. I've got a very flexible schedule as a nurse, but he only had the weekend free. He also doesn't get as much money as I do. For now. It's so frustrating ;__; 

 

Ahaha Noddy is both my nickname and also a character that I use in every game I've played xD she's part of me now ahah

So, for those who don't know, I'm way more active in my Grinding Log, since I actually put my logs in there. So if anyone wants to support me and prefers a more active thread, I strongly advise you to visit it ^^

 

Anyway just to check in with my achievements so far during this week:

 

Learn skill Firestorm

1x out of 2 workouts done.

 

I've modified my eating plan AGAIN because of stuff I explained on my log. I'll probably just start calorie counting from now on, but keeping it strong on veggies and protein. Hopefully, my strength training will get better and also my health O.o How did I ever think that a very low-calorie diet would be beneficial for me medium term... I've got no clue. I should've known better by now!

 

I actually forgot to put my measurements on my grinding log... I've got them on my mobile. Total fail. Will do that in a moment.

I've started planning my visit to Portugal!

(noticed how I skillfully managed to skip the first part of the quest?)

I basically asked my manager for an extra day of annual leave, she said yes... I booked flights.. and then she sent me an e-mail saying I couldn't do it after all :) (very cynical smiley) so I still need to:

  • swap a shift when the off duty comes out;
  • book trains.

I've tried my best to convince my boyfriend to go to Stonehenge this weekend. It's free for us since I actually bought a heritage ticket thingie. The problem is... it's most likely gonna rain. He doesn't like to do stuff outside with rain. Gosh... sometimes I wish I had waited to date an english dude :x we portuguese DO NOT LIKE THE RAIN.

So... does it count the baby shower thingie I had last Sunday? Does it? DOES IT? I hope so. I also texted a friend in Portugal. We spoke a bit. 

Again, I'm hoping the baby shower counts as a plan a day out. It wasn't mine, truthfully, but I still got my ass out there. I could've been resting at home.

I haven't done much in the saving thingie. I actually spent more by buying the tickets to Portugal. I will most likely still have extra money by the end of the month though. To be honest I'll probably just update this at the end of the month. But I also haven't searched for the account that I want and stuff. I also have money in betting accounts (you know that thing where you just make a calculated bet in 2 different accounts so that you end up winning? I used to do that. But it's time consuming). I basically need to put this back on my accounts.

Update number 2!

 

Learn skill Firestorm

2x out of 2 workouts done. I'm really sad and feeling defeated that the last workout sucked. Details in my log.

 

So... would you be surprised if I said I changed my diet plan AGAIN?? Is this a trigger? Am I in my right mind? I don't know. I think it was time to ditch the BLE diet. It helped me lose the first 11kg (again. how many times have I lost 10kg again? ahahah so funny). Now I need something healthy. I'm feeling healthier already. I thought I was fine... but where did this energy come from? It's amazing! The rules are written in my log, and so I shall obey them. I accept comments and ideas ^^ 

No seriously. I do. I've been reading so many nutrition stuff. No one, no one agrees with anything! Well, I reckon most people agree that veggies are good and healthy. And processed food not as healthy. From then onwards... it's all hell break loose. Why is losing fat so hard? Why isn't there 1 way? Seriously... (anyways rant is over).

 

I bought a caliper xD supposedly have around 32% body fat xD Better than I expected!! I really thought I'd be 35%. But I also did this AFTER the training session so it might be bogus.

My boyfriend started taking looks at countries to visit... OMG is this a sign???

 

Portugal visit needs to do list:

  • swap a shift when the off duty comes out;

So after reading your BL - changing your diet DEFINITELY sounds like the right choice. 

 

Nutrition is so hard! I'm pretty sure that's why most people try everything they can to make OTHER changes first - even if that isn't the most effective solution. One of the reasons that no one agrees with anything is that different things work better for different people - so frustrating! At least now you know something that doesn't work well for you!

 

Sounds like everything else is going well and is on track!

Yes... I think I'm being sensible. 

 

Sometimes it's hard to know because my subconscious does a lot to get me strayed from the diet, eat badly and gain the weight again. But I actually think this isn't bad. It's just going back to calorie counting, but this time, I'm focusing on eating real food. Not the low-calorie crap I used to eat.

 

I'm hoping that this will settle my mind for now and that I won't be making any changes soon.

@NotThePrincessPeach ahaha thanks!! xD it's in my signature, my battle log is my grinding log. Just so you know tho, I consider that changing mentality my own doom. I mean, I definitely see value in it. But for me, it's also the thing that makes me fail all the time since I never get to the end of something before I change my mind. Including with stuff in life. I get very excited very quickly but also bored very quickly.

 

Alright, just a small update because... Stuff happens. So basically remember I was really trying to go to Stonehenge this weekend? So I was dummy enough to "forget" I was doing night shifts this week (starting on Sunday). So basically we cleaned the house on the Saturday as usual... Bought and played new board games (OMG OMG Patchwork and Splendor are awesome!!!) and then Sunday we were supposed to go to Stonehenge. And then I find out I have night shift that night! LOL 

 

Yeah... that's totally me.

 

Anyways Stonehenge is close but not THAT close since we've moved from Southampton to Portsmouth. It's a bit more than 1h away and then it takes AGES to actually walk there. So I kinda forced my boyfriend to go elsewhere xD we saw a nearby heritage castle, Portchester Castle. It had lots of battles between the french and english armies. Also lots of noble and regal drama. It was actually a lot nicer than I thought! And the weather helped :)

Alright! I'll only be able to go to the gym after my night shifts so I'm hoping to make it Friday and Sunday. Mainly because if I go Thursday (after my last night shift) I'll be a total wreck. But I actually did a little body weight training yesterday from nerdfitness academy: Bodyweight training 3A. Yeah... lifting heavy things doesn't really make me that awesome. I can't do push ups again O.o not to mention chin ups and dips... anyway I'll train those at the gym.

 

I'm a bit of hermit when I do night shifts so I'll probably just write again at the end of the week. The reason is simple... even after I wake up in the afternoon I just wanna lay on the couch and look at something without having to think. Writing takes waayyy too much work.

Oooh, what a lovely castle adventure!  I'm glad you were able to turn that slip-up around. I'm sure you'll get to Stonehenge another day. 

 

I am on Academy level 3 also!  That was the one I stalled out on... I could not figure out how to do chin ups at home. :-(  The hubby is sure I'll kill myself or destroy the house if I buy one of those friction mount things, and our house is too old to actually install something permanent (it is hard to find studs and even if you do, it may not work... I punched two holes in the ceiling back when I was doing pole dance/fitness and trying to install my pole! So his concerns that I will break something are legitimate.) It's been so long now I may have to start over at Academy level 2...  Anyway, GO YOU! Good job working on the 3A!   :-D  You'll get better at it for sure. 

 

Oh. I DID see some kinda steps you could do chin ups at home... like getting under a table and doing them from the bottom of the table, or doing them on a doorknob was another. I found them on YouTube. I tried the table one for a while, it was better than nothing, and my little noodle arms were up to the challenge.

@CallunaTook I think I might actually go this weekend. Since the weather is turning sour and the weekend after is even worse. And by that, I mean that tomorrow is supposed to be cloudy and humid and it's gonna rain on Sunday lol. Next week is probably just gonna rain on both days.

 

LOOOL omg have you really got a pole?? I wanna try pole dancing so much... but... they only have classes outside the city and on traffic hours. Too much effort :/

It basically allows you to unscrew it on the wall, but it doesn't make any holes. It's got a rubber thing. It holds it in place because of the pressure it's making against the wall. Safe to use, no need to worry!! :P  And yes, I'm trying to hang in there ;___; but yeah, the point is... it holds you without you falling on the floor and have it hit your head next.

 

Ahaha I'm training dips and chin ups at the gym as well. Although I intend to use this bar and train chin ups at home if I can. I wish I had something to train dips on... :/

 

Anyways, a little update:

1x out of 2 visits to the gym. The proof is on my grinding log for awesomeness :3 I feel energetic once again!

 

Food is... I dunno. I'm keeping it to my new parameters. Between 1438 calories and 1600. My mind is starting to go crazy with thoughts like: I'm overeating to meet calorie goals. You're not gonna lose weight since you're eating so much. Etc...

 

So yeah, I'm afraid to get to Sunday and not have lost weight/measurements. Or worst... to have gained.

Macros are okay though. This is my food from yesterday. 1581 calories of home-cooked, natural food. Mainly quark/cottage cheese, cashews, eggs, my pepper/onion/carrot/cabbage coleslaw and a burger. Oh and pickles. I love pickles.

I finally managed to take all the money from my matched betting accounts. Which is awesome. It's around £1000 and I need every bit of it. My computer dies with just Spotify or I dunno... turning itself on after hibernating? So I REALLY need to get a new one.

Yep, yep, I have had a few poles. I even used to teach! It was so much fun, like an adult jungle gym. Climbing up one of those things was the first thing that ever inspired me to get any upper body strength. I don't have them any more... quit teaching, and my house is not really conducive... small spaces, holes in the ceiling and such!  I tried to get a stand-alone for the backyard, but it was so tall it (and me) was visible all the way to the main street. I am too private for that kind of an exhibition! 

 

That bar really works? What brand is it? It looks nice... even has grippy cushions!    My husband is so sure that those things will fall off and kill me while I'm using it... doesn't mean I shouldn't get one though. It just means he can say I-told-you-so if it falls down... 

 

How are your goals coming along?

@CallunaTook ahaha xD I wouldn't mind having one in the garden xD the houses here have a 2nd floor. It can't be that bad! Is it possible to solo learn pole dancing?

 

The bar really works. At least for me. It never let me down. There isn't really a brand for it... it's something like this: Chin up bar I bet there's plenty in US as well.

 

My goals are coming up great!! I totally just noticed I didn't post anything last Sunday... so I'm gonna update for both weeks now xD

Uhuu!!! So I'm back and so far the challenge is going great. BTW I DID finish last week gym session and met the 2x requirement. I'm really happy with it ^^ Also, I did plan and executed a board gaming day last Sunday with my friends. It was really good! Also played Cards Agaisnt Humanity via Discord with my friends from Portugal.

 

Now for this week...

 

Learn skill Firestorm

  • Hit the gym at least 2x week - 100%
  • I described my diet back in my log so far. Anyways meeting my calorie intake requirement, eating a big amount of veggies per meal and meeting my set amount of protein.
  • Make notes of weight and body measurements - I lost 0.6kg this week!!!!

 

Gather relics from the trophy rooms

  • Plan at least 1 weekend in a different country - half way done, we're just waiting for the end of the month
  • Plan visit to Portugal - still need to swap shifts when I get my off duty, plan trains or coaches.
  • Check nearby heritage - Portchester castle checked! Decided I'll visit Stonehenge with some friends in September.

  • Plan days out - more than checked! Went on a bowling night with my co-workers and planned a few things for next week. I'm really stepping out my comfort zone and it feels weird... I'm trying my best. I hate it that I really have to push myself to do this kind of things while others do it so effortlessly...

Yes! You COULD learn pole dancing on your own. The simplest stuff you could probably figure out with enough messing around. You could also learn to climb on your own; you could Google for tips if you need help. For the harder tricks and spins, you could YouTube instructionals - there are plenty out there, and I've watched several. The only thing I would caution you against is to not do inversions alone. There is a higher danger risk with those, and girls have been seriously injured by falling upside down onto their head (very rare, but it happens). So if you want to go upside down I'd suggest help, in the form of a spotter, or at the very least someone who could take care of you and call for help if you get injured. However there is a lot of really cool, fun, strength-building stuff you could learn that does not involve flipping upside down. 

 

Really impressed by how well you met all of your goals last week!  And your new gaming computer looks sweet.

Yeah I'd be scared to death of trying inversions just like that xD

 

Basically... I read that challenges should feel easy? So I made challenges that I need to do but feel easy for me. Then I do them, makes me feel awesome and I can try new stuff. The idea is.. Go small on the goals, I guess.

Ok so a bit late but let's recap last week. Apparently this is the last one! Omg! I have literally almost no idea what my next challenge will be and to be honest I'm not even sure I should be in the adventures guild. I feel seriously boring compared to so many people out there! 

 

Learn skill Firestorm

 

  • Hit the gym at least 2x week: check! 
  • Eat calories aloted and record on mfp: check! 
  • Make notes of weight and body measurements: gonna put that next ^^ so late check! 

 

Gather relics from the trophy rooms

 

  • Plan at least 1 weekend in a different country: almost done... Gonna check my schedule today! We're going to Barcelona! 
  • Plan visit to Portugal: I'm afraid I won't be able to actually do much more since my off duty hasn't come out yet lol... 

 

Form a guild of allies

 

  • Speak with friends: done that! Discord is an amazing tool hihihi 
  • Plan days out: went to see my friends' baby girl and actually held her. I'm terrible with babies and things and it seems almost like I could lose my friends.. Since they're parents now.. I dunno, it's completely out of my comfort zone, but I've done it! 

 

Reach current gold cap

I've pretty much done this as much as can to be honest. And my savings account is looking good again even after the laptop. And I'm still waiting for the laptop cashback, should be here by the 30th September. 

 

And that's all ^^

 

I was mega lazy this weekend... Night shift mode I guess xD

"Adventure" means different things to different people. What is an adventure to me may not be an adventure to you, and vice-versa. If you feel that this is the guild you belong to, or would like to aspire to, *I* certainly don't have the authority to say differently!  I have enjoyed following you on here.  Personally, I decided to pick my guild based on what was inspiring to me and what I would like to achieve... not as much on whether I considered myself to fit the category currently. But it's up to you!  I feel like you are just fine here, if that means anything.

Good job! Kudos on working out twice a week and reaching your savings goal. A trip to Barcelona sounds lovely. 

 

You could create goals that are do-able with guests, perhaps? I'll miss you in the challenge forums this go-around.
