Tuesday

Calories: 2057

 

Squat

Set 1: 75 lb × 7

Set 2: 75 lb × 7

Set 3: 75 lb × 7

Bench Press (Dumbbell)

Set 1: 20 lb × 10

Set 2: 20 lb × 10

Set 3: 20 lb × 10

Set 4: 20 lb × 10

 

Trap Bar Deadlift

Set 1: 155 lb × 5

Set 2: 155 lb × 5

Set 3: 155 lb × 5

 

aaaand then when removing the plates I dropped the corner of the trap bar on my foot. so I went home after two sets of OHP, it was supposed to be four. I iced my foot. Surveying the damage this morning looks like only the pinky toe is bruised and will live to see another day. 

 

Military Press

Set 1: 45 lb × 4

Set 2: 50 lb × 4

 

I also measured myself this morning and that was very - _ - . So yeah, I'm ready to take this calorie/cut seriously now. Which will have to include more cardio, once my toe is good. I have gained 10# that seems to want to stick around. I am going to think about rewards for 5 and 10# lost goals. 


We are traveling for a medieval thing this weekend to a national forest and I really want to go down these 300 steps for one of the local nature attractions. I think this will be easier than hiking on the toe, so that might be my cardio plan for the weekend.

Ugh... nothing ruins a workout like dropping shit on your foot or crushing a finger between pates... I have done both...

At this point my plan is to just not water them and hope they die off properly and I don't have to get my face all up in the powdery mildew.

This is probably the third time I've dropped something on my foot. I'm actually surprised it's not terrible. Maybe because it is the pinky toe? One time I drunk dropped a tiny 6# dumbbell on my big toe and it was awful and I could barely walk for a week. This was a 65# trap bar and I'm like eh, not that bad.

Wednesday 
Calories: 2280


The scale this morning was like FUCK YOU and the horse you rode in on. (thank you salty pea soup)

 

Okay so I sorted out my calorie goal and my goals for losing the weight. 

 

The plan starting TODAY:

1950 cals for first two weeks then reassess 

No alcohol for one month

No sweets for one week to restart appetite 

 

So in addition to calories I'll be posting any alcohol/food notes as needed. Not sure about cell phone reception this weekend. 

 

I'll need to figure out a cardio plan but I'm out of town this weekend, so I'll ponder that and set a plan when I return. 

 

Thursday: lifting

good call on the alcohol! i have a plan to do that in November actually. too many things coming up that i'd like to enjoy a drink for.

 

i probably shouldn't have a piece of the chocolate chip coffee cake in the work kitchen, right?

Thanks! It's going to be tough because we have a lot of social things coming up, but I have a feeling I could always think of an excuse to not do it. Plus, I know I will feel mentally better when the weight starts to come off.

Thursday

Calories: 1952 (yay, finally!)

 

I went on down to lunk town (aka the local Powerhouse), because I didn't have time to drive to my PL gym. And it was muy crowded, all racks being used. Waited around for a bench even though I normally squat first. Then after finishing bench, a squat rack opened, like the heavens shining down on me. 

 

Bench Press

Set 1: 65 lb × 1

Set 2: 70 lb × 1

Set 3: 75 lb × 1

Set 4: 75 lb × 1

Set 5: 75 lb × 1

Set 6: 75 lb × 1

Set 7: 75 lb × 1

 

Squat

Set 1: 85 lb × 1

Set 2: 95 lb × 1

Set 3: 100 lb × 1

Set 4: 100 lb × 1

Set 5: 100 lb × 1

Set 6: 100 lb × 1

 

aaaaand then I had visual aura from a migraine starting, so I went home. 

 

I figured out there is a gym 20 min from where we will be this weekend that has day passes. If I wake up really early on Saturday with time on my hands I will mosey on down there to fit in another workout. 2 more sessions and I retest 1 RM, so if I can get in a workout on Saturday, I can test squat and bench next week.
