Paisley
OK so it's been a while since I've been on here but things have gotten out of hand and I need to get a handle on my health again so where else do I turn but good old NerdFitness. And even better a new challenge is about to start. Just what I need - a challenge to keep me in line. So to cut a short story long - I went and lost 35lb and was really happy with where I was - I was working on strength, getting stronger and fitter, then I started getting lazy and things started slipping. the 35lb came back and brought a few friends along, my strength took a vacation - permanently. But enough is enough - I need to get back on track and so we begin. Goal 1 - Bring on the vegetables I really need to get my eating back under control - there's been much eating out, too much eating bad food - it's stops here. I need a reset and so I think a Whole30 is in order. Cut out all the processed stuff, no bread, no dairy, no processed foods. I have a farm CSA share at the moment and a lot of it is going to waste - no more. Bring on the vegetables. Grading - A 6-7 days whole 30B 4-5 days whole 30C 2- 3 days whole 30F - <2 days whole 30 Goal 2 - start strong I really want to go back to my strength training, but with the kids at home getting to the gym is hard therefore I will focus this challenge on body weight workouts. 5 days a week I will work on push ups, squats, sit ups. I will start simply by adding to how many of each I can do each week I want to attempt to add at least 5 each week. Grading - A 5 days of workoutsB 4 days of workoutsC 3 days of workoutsF - <2 days of workouts Goal 3 - move more I have this desire to get out and run again - so of course I should go with it. So I'm going to go with a challenge of getting in at least 2, preferably 3, 5km runs (or walks whatever I can do at the moment) each week. Grading - A 3 5km runs/walks B 2 5km runs/walks C 1 5km runs/walks F - 0 5km runs/walks Goal 4 - achieve something around the house. I've been spending a lot of time lately on my sewing but I've decided I need to branch out a little. I need to go back to getting my house in order, so I've included a list of things I want to do around the house and will try and cross off one thing each week. refinish the kitchen table. reupholster the kitchen chairs repaint the spare bedroom Paint the last wall in the lounge room refinish the cabinet in the garage Grading - A 1 project /weekF - 0 project /week OK so bring it on. 2 Quote Level 6, Ranger Challenge I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, Current Challenge My Sewing Blog Link to comment

Mmmmmmm! Wolf Oh I'm not growing anything - I have a black thumb - I manage to kill everything I touch in a garden but out local farm is set up so you pay at the beginning of the year and you get to come pick up fresh veges every week. Its great. You get a bit of everything. At the moment it's summer squash, tomatoes, cucumber, eggplant, onions, all my favourites, plus things like kolrabi, kale, swiss chard. but no broccoli yet. Paisley
OK and we begin - a bit early but I figure if I'm motivated now-go with it. So yesterday was OK food wise, just had a few crackers and cheese with lunch and one mini chocolate for dessert. Also did a 2km run - thought I should ease into things a bit. Spent the rest of the night and half of today coughing up phlegm though which is not so nice- lungs obviously need a good work out. Today was good. Food was all good. Omlet for breakfast, cold meat and coleslaw for lunch and thai minced pork for dinner - no snacks. I also did a 6 mile bike ride with the kids and then spent the afternoon at the pool so a good bit of movement. Now to avoid eating my way through the cupboard tonight - definitely feeling peckish - I have a peach in the fridge - that will be dessert. My thoughts too. When you look closely at the list its not really that much - its really just some painting, sanding and sewing. The painting and sanding will take a while but are not that hard - I just need to get to them. But no I'm not planning on doing all of them - that's just my list to chose from. I'm hoping for 4 of them finished, but we shall see. 1 Quote Level 6, Ranger Challenge I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, Current Challenge My Sewing Blog Link to comment
Paisley
Well today wasn't really a fun day. I felt totally exhausted all day. a product of a drop in calories due to eating good food and some actual exercise. I'm hoping that I'll feel better tomorrow. So I didn't do any real exercise today - just incidental stuff and a short walk around the block after dinner with the kids (maybe 1.5km) Food was OK but not great. I made up a big pot of chili for breakfast, cold meat and veges for lunch and more chili for dinner, but I also allowed myself a small bowl of chips for afternoon tea (I wanted to try the new lays flavours) But on the plus side it was restrained to just one small bowl, not the entire packet of chips. I also had a few fries off the kids plate at dinner. Not great, but still not bad. on to tomorrow and hopefully I'll be more awake. 1 Quote Level 6, Ranger Challenge I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, Current Challenge My Sewing Blog Link to comment

Paisley
Friday is in the bag, not bad but not great. Exercise wise today was ok. Took the kids canoeing this afternoon, not far and not fast, but at least it was something. Food was ok. Peanut butter and raisins make a good breakfast don't they? Salad for lunch and a thai green curry for dinner and fruit salad for dessert. Only bad was one small chocolate after dinner. Looking forward to the official start of the challenge. 2 Quote Level 6, Ranger Challenge I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, Current Challenge My Sewing Blog Link to comment
Elastigirl
Doing great.Good job at keeping to one small bag of potato chips. Sounds to me like you are the type of person that likes to allow yourself a little treat, but just keeps it within reason. That seems to be working well for you, so I say keep at it and don't feel guilty. A whole jar of nutella in one go, a whole tub of icecream. Thankfully my motivation is good at the moment so I am sti king to just small treats. Hopefully I can keep it up. Today was ok again. Breakfast lunch and dinner were all good, but I did need afternoon tea today, peanuts and raisins, and another small bowl of chips. Also a small chocolate and a small glass of peach brandy for a Saturday night splash out. As for exercise, the kids and I did a short bike ride and created an obstacle course at the playground. I've also gotten back out on the slackline the last couple of days. I'm thinking about putting in a stretch hoal to keep myself at it. Today I managed 11 steps, hopefully soon I can cross the entire thing. 1 Quote Level 6, Ranger Challenge I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, Current Challenge My Sewing Blog Link to comment

Went for nuts again which are good, but still a lot of extra calories. I also got started on one of my projects today. I sanded down our dining room table getting ready for painting.
