My first last challenge I approached sort of half-assed, quarter-assed so now I gotta RE roll the Hard 6. (See, I just mixed gaming with BSG.) Fitness Goals Strength Train: 3X / WEEK Sweat!!! 3X / WEEK Eating Healthy No honeybadger moments. Life Goal Budget Related: Keep track of ALL purchases in BuJo. Collect data, find trends. The above goals were what I did on my second challenge back in April 2013. Guess what weight I was when I started? Yup. Same as I am today. I guess in one sense, keeping within the same 5-8lb spread for 4 years isn't so bad in the long wrong, right? Anyway. By the end of that challenge? These were the results. Spoiler STARTING STATS Weight: 153.1 New: 142.7 Bodyfat: 32.7% Waist: 36 New: 34 Hip: 42 New: 39 Thigh: 25 New: 25 Bicep: 13 New: 13 Fitness Goals Strength Train: 3X / WEEK STR 2, STA 1 17/18 Strength Workouts Completed. 94% = A C25K - again 3X / WEEK DEX 2, STA 3 18/18 Runs Completed. 100% = A Eating Healthy CHA 3 587/600 "Points" ** 98% = A So, I am going to go back to the beginning. While I am not currently doing C25K, or plan to, I will still utilize the 3x a week SWEAT as motivation. Also- those 'strength' days were largely play ground workouts, that lasted no more than 45m. I have a gym in my warehouse now- rings, pull up bars, and weights. I am set up for success on that front. The food? I opted for not tracking calories and just eating cleaner. I likely UNDER nourished that first time around, but I am smarter now, more experienced. My TDEE has not changed over the last four years. When I am strength active I burn about 2200 a day, when I run or bike, it hits about 2400, and when I hockey I can tip to 3000. I can easily adjust my intake based on those well established averages. I have a vacation starting on the 18th, and then a very crazy ten days. I will make the best choices I can, given the surroundings I am in. I will not stress and nitpick over every calorie into my mouth because that makes me macroniacal. Hockey season is starting up too, so that will also help. And, a big difference between then and now? starpuck Posted August 12, 2017 Author Report Share Posted August 12, 2017 Oi! Just a rough catch up here on what went on this week. Monday was Bodyweight Workout with tons of evening art, finishing "Jaiks Ten Years Later" (Still have to write her wrap up for my GM.) Tuesday was a run/walk day and then I played a bunch of Northgard with the boys. Wednesday was hockey day. Thursday was leg day/strength and since D&D was canceled, more Northgard. Friday was... so I ended up going stupid crazy with cravings and then trying to tidy a bunch of things on my to do list. (Also more Northgard, lol.) But, I wrote up this guy on Tuesday! Sooo, I think I actually got quite a bunch done this week, and that was really, only in like 4-5 days, because I didn't put that all together until Tuesday. I got everything done already for the trip next Friday. I wrote up my list of what I need to pack and what I'd like to stock up on for foods. Ordered my solar eclipse glasses and ... just gotta pick what day to pack. I also got a lot of my regular To Do's done, and I still have tomorrow to do more; but, tomorrow is our final prep bike ride. Going to do about 28 miles tomorrow to make sure everything is a-okay on the bikes. I will drop mine off on Sunday to get the adjustments made (if necessary) and then good to go on that. I also need to have all my cosplay stuff done before my trip, because um, I come back Thursday at 6pm, go to gaming, sleep, then go to Comic Con. (I did warn that this second week of the challenge was going to be total chaos, right? Hah.) I am not going to say anything about my cosplay for this one- I will share a picture when it happens. But, I promise, it will be amazingly neat. I didn't get nearly as much art done this week as I wanted to, but I had all this other stuff on my mind (and also, work was kinda busy so I couldn't sneak my work-time doodles). Maybe tomorrow at some point I'll get some art in. Maybe while Punkosaur and I play some hot-seat Heroes of Might and Magic. I can draw while he takes his turn! My next D&D character? Well that was going to be that sweet ass awesome War Mage, with the two different eyes, and the dragon pic? Well, that was if Q was running our game. He's our most experienced, awesome GM ever. He gets personal with the story bits and so I was super excited. Instead of Q running though, our friend Maximum Pete is taking the GM seat. He's not DM'ed 5e D&D before, in fact he may not have run any D&D for a long long while. It's also his first time DM'ing since his illness. (You may have recalled my updates in 2013 about a friend who had a grand mal seizure, then lost years of his memories, and was unable to form NEW memories... it was the scariest thing ever. But he is so so so much better now, and he wanted to take a crack at it.) ANYWAY! Female. Dwarf... DRUID. Now, this super sucks because I hate, hate, hate drawing anime style dwarves. So, I'm going to borrow a page from Dragon Age... who made dwarves less barrel of bearded fish, and more just stout, curvy, thick, beautiful badasses. Example from in game: And the pic I'm stealing as her portrait: Revia Harcan Druid of the Northern Clans "I was born sun-side, an' never much took an inkling t' under-mountain life. So my clan let me join up with the fey folk an' muck about in the trees and tall grasses. But dinna underestimate me, I may be a druid, but I get my strength from the stones below, an' the storms above and the fiery heart of the mountain- that granted me the blood that runs in my veins. I'll leave the huggin' o' trees to the long-eared ones who live in 'em." Her flaw is that she's a bit too enamored with spirits and intoxicants- likely another bit her dwarven heritage had a part to play in. And instead of a sprig of mistletoe as her druidic totem? Yup. Hops!!! So there's my update folks! My social skills are always on point. But OMG! Brain twin!! I have been digging through old challenges to use as a base for this challenge (that I still have yet to put together, but technically it's not the 12th yet so I've got time), too. I haven't decided if I'm going to re-use the challenge or build one off of it yet. This is assuming I actually shet my git together and put one up. starpuck Posted August 14, 2017 Author Report Share Posted August 14, 2017 When you're all excited for the new challenge, and ready to kick ass.... But you end up waking up all, Guys, I have never had this many colds in a year, let alone in summer! Saturday we did our 24 mile bike ride, and I was struggling so hard with it. I was tired, and fatigued, and just ugh. I assumed it was Sharks causing the change in my capabilities, but I think it was actually the start of this cold. I woke up Saturday night with a sore throat, just scratchy--- but enough that it caused concern. Sunday when I got up, it was still there, but just mild still. I went out to meet NERDS! and had yummy pulled pork and walked the mall and had my first ever rolled ice cream (it was amazing). Then I had a hockey game where I was put back to center and played REALLY well... but then after? All energy gone. In fact, I was so done... that I actually went to PROPER bed at 9:30pm. I woke up this morning, still with an achy throat and just general fatigue and drowsiness. I leave for my vacation on Friday and since Fri/Sat are driving days, I"ll get like NO work out in ... not even hikes and bikes... so I really needed to front load this week if I wanted to meet my goals. But instead: Gaaaah I am so frustrated by this! I just talked to my Midwest Nerds peeps, and we've decided I should go to the warehouse and do a light workout. Just lower the weights and go through the movements, gauging how it's making me feel. If I have to stop, stop. If I feel okay, get through some deloaded sets. If I feel great, up it a bit. Then, all the veggies for lunch. I found in the frozen section, herb seasoned riced cauliflower! So excite! Going to totally get my veggies upped again this week. Also, Zicam. I have been digging through old challenges to use as a base for this challenge (that I still have yet to put together, but technically it's not the 12th yet so I've got time), too. I haven't decided if I'm going to re-use the challenge or build one off of it yet. This is assuming I actually shet my git together and put one up.
