Casbin: Shaking off the dust and rust

Recommended Posts

Casbin

Hi I'm Casbin,

I can't say that I'm new or old; it's more like I keep respawning around here regularly.

Or should I say, I am doing well for the first two weeks and start to lose my focus from there, it's kind of the same thing to me.

However, every time that I'm around I keep learning and take small things with me, I'm not about to stop ;)

This Challenge will be a bit awkward as I will differ from the usual SMART Goals approach. I think I'm borrowing from maegs again but I'm not sure, I didn't read in on her threads for a few monthes...

Besides my basic nutrition goals that I want to further polish into a standing habit there are basically three things that will be necessary in the next few monthes.

Things that I want to do, make me happy and strive.

Things of which I believe that they will be aiding me in the future

And things which I will need to do for myself.

But off to the fun facts:

Nutritional goals(dailiy count as always):

Weigh in every day (I am setting myself up to gain weight and this is for redundancy)

Track your calories - my goal are 3600 kcal a day + a snack to balance workouts

Drink 2l of water a day

Stick with a decent breakfast and 2 Proteindrinks - this helped tremendously over the last week

Check in here daily - yes I know, not nutrition but I want to do this every day (it's ok to skip on gamenights)

For the rest of my list I will commit to doing 5 things out of the things mentioned below but at least one of each categorie (the lists are still a work in progress)

Things I want:

read in an physical, not workrelated book (so no ebooks or webtoons)

take a break and just listen to music

go to the bouldering hall

Take a walk in the greenerie

Meet up with friends

Get out for a run

Things that will help:

Bodycare-routine to boost your confidence

Take a minute and just focus on breathing

Snatch some pieces from BuJo to track your to do's

Keep a list of accomlished minor tasks

meditate

Things I need to get started (partials count):

Write your application papers

Get started with applying for new jobs

Declutter

Organize your documents

Find a way to put up rings

Look for a new appartment

I will keep updating the list as things come back to mind.

See you soon

Casbin

Hey, thanks for stopping by again!

I'm a bit concerned how it will work without the whole work on everything, every day pressure but there will be a way.

Looking forward to see how things work out.

Oh and plank to failure went in the mix for the Mini ^.^

Well, we are here if you need to bounce ideas on how to make it work adn how to handle the pressure. IT may be easier than you think

Thanks, it will just be a matter of getting used to it.

Once I know that list by heart it will work just fine. As expected the hardest part was to remember what's on the list and which to tackle; I had to make decisions after all xD

I like idea of keeping a list of "minor" tasks. Checking things off a list really motivates! :) Good luck!

Hey! Yes this is working quite well for me.

My work keeps me on my toes and I can only account for so much ahead of time and just got to see how things play out.

And seeing things that shouldn't take more then a day on my list for a week or too is giving this feeling of not doing anything.

But if I can look back and realised what I did instead, well it's making things easier; way better then feeling bad about not accomplishing anything when I served customers all day or pulled marketing stuff out off my head and fixed computer issues.

Update:

Weighin 62.5 kg                                        4/7

Foodlog - happened in the evening       6/7

Calories -  3717                                        7/7 (I think I've been like 30 kcal shy one day but pfff)

Waterintake: 1l nope                               5/7

I will give it a try and spoiler it for a while to see how I feel about it.

But be warned, I have to eat a lot and I'm no where near a healthy or balanced diet

Spoiler

Foodlog

Breakfast: 2 wholewheat breadbuns, 1 med. sized Avocado, 4 slices of cheese, 100g chicken breast cold cuts, 2 slices salami - 1816

Snack: Proteinshake with 400ml milk, 2 Bananas, app. 70g protein powder - 736

Lunch: Tortellini with cheese filling 4 cups, 300g tomato sauce - 816

Snack 1 piece of plum cake - 353

Huh, no wonder I didn't feel hungry after lunch till now; weird but the amounts are about right...

Things I did today:

Please realise the timewindows were extremly small but I made sure thatthings happened.

For myself:

Take a couple of minutes and just listen to music

Read a book - dug out a clancy novel and plan to read in Momo for a bit tonight

I heard this morning that we'd have friends over for a barbecue but that apparently got cancelled

For future me:

Boost selfesteem/ Bodycare routine

To Do list is set up but I got stuck with prepping a new computer

Just breath for a moment

Things that need to happen:

Get your documents in order - sorted through a bunch of letters and presorted them (and trashed haf of it) , this is the last thing for today

Tomorrow will be interesting but I will make it happen.

See you soon

Sounds like you are still doing okay and that you are getting things done. And you still got things done even if the windows were small. That is still a huge step. Great job and hopefully tomorrow is not definition 3 interesting.

Haha, no it wasn't that bad but like for or 6 hours more would have been helpful.
Extra points for the firefly reference!

Update:

Weigh in 62.8
Foodlog - done
Calories - below 2000...
Breakfast happened, no smoothiemaker at home

Went for a run today it was a good feeling to get our and start my day right but the run itself felt of. It's probably a mix of issues like not enough food and water and my last run was two days ago.
I still have 5 weeks till the 10k but I don't think I'll be ticking of the Epic Quest, however I do feel a whole lot better after the exercise.
Took a couple of breaks throughout the day.
Bodycare routine happened.
Oh and I managed two planks throughout the day.

From here on out things get a bit nebulous and I will make up my mind if I want to count it or not.

Got 4 hours of chores done.
And headed out for my Aunts birthday party.

Tomorrow should be easier to handle.

Have a nice weekend!

Hope the weekend is easier on you.

Hiiiiii Casbin....

You may get off your track but your words have kept me on track in the middle of challenges.

You remind me of the quote "more is less"

I don't see you on here for awhile then out of no where you post some genuine advice.

I hope your challenges keep you challenged, but if not, I'm glad you stick around ^_^

Morag graciously introduced me to the series some time ago, they always dig out the best stuff!
Yes I did though I had to butt heads in order to do so, someone's always unhappy with three adults in the house.
The party was great though and I apparently left at just the right time.

Sunday was perfect, I just took the day off.

I really like your approach this challenge. Got the must-dos and some flexibility, which is always good. Best of luck!
Hey, thanks for coming along!
I did scanned through your Challenge but got yet to catch up on the details.

It so need some more fine tuning and compromising but it feels more and more like a good fit!

And good luck to you as well!

Hi and sorry I do feel bad about still not getting back to you...

Thank you for the compliment, I do try to keep myself to just that principle.
Compliment when you mean it, give ideas only if I'd be willing to try doing it myself.

The Challenges most definitely always are a stretch for me, finding small, manageable steps and keeping it to that alone is so damn hard I wouldn't have believed it ever (and still can't).

I'll make sure to stop by in a bit, lurked before but didn't yet make up my mind to get back in touch...

Ok, I finally caught up!
Sorry for keeping the post separated but I'm a bit caught up with the handling discrepancies between computer and mobile...

So, I took a lazy day on Sunday.
Breakfast and walking the dogs are all that happened besides sitting in the garden and reading all of UnOrdinary.
However, it felt damn good.

Back at it today:

Breakfast, Protein shakes and an ok lunch already happened.

Weigh In 63.4
Water 1.5l ahead of schedule
Veggie Snacks for Gamenight are at hand and need to be cut.

Breathing break
Coffee in the sun
Did some decluttering in the workshop and around my desk
Will take a little detour on my way to gamenight for a walk

Looking good but I will give you a bit more details about the fine tuning I am planning to do when I got a proper Keyboard.

Sounds like you are making great progress. I am curious about the UNOrdinary as well so you will have to explain that later.

How did game night go with the veggie snacks and great job on getting ahead in your water. Keep it up

Ups, I've been too lazy to give you an update yesterday.

First off, thanks for the encouragement, I do see that I can brag about something every day
But the last group is hard and I've been missing a lot out of it.
That needs to change and I will find a way to make it easier.

UnOrdinary is an online comic, Manhwa I believe, about a schoolboy without any powers were superpowers are the norm and the stronger one is in the right.
I've been enjoying it quite a lot especially as the background and world itself are only gradually revealed and explained and the characters are so funny!

For yesterday:
Weighed in at 63.5
Foodlog happened
Calories 3550 approximately
One protein shake and a proper breakfast

Stop and just listen to music

Bodycare routine
BuJo ToDos
List of minor tasks
Stop and just breath

What needs to start
Nothing...
But got a clearer picture of what I'm looking for and some leverage on how to handle the whole "it's my family" thing
