This is step 2 in a multi-part challenge where I: brace for impact but hurry up and wait, (temporarily) lose my DH, jettison 99% of the shit I own, pack my dog and myself up and move halfway across the globe, reunite with DH, and adjust to a whooooooooooole other level of "new normal".

 

This past challenge saw a metric shit-ton of anxiety in the form of rescheduling, rapidly readjusting, emotional rollercoaster drama, and all around crapola.

 

Long story short: the DH was set to leave providing his physical was clear. Physical was not clear due to minor dumb shit.

 

Rapid scrambling to hit the brakes on moving just in case it doesn't happen because of this shit - rapid readjustment of expectations - rapid lifestyle revamp - all while trying not to murder each other in the process.

So.

 

Where we are now: DH has been cleared, his ship out date has been set, goodbyes have been said, and he's good to go.

 

Which means I can finally set my move date, schedule the dogs' medical shit, get my shots, secure my visa, offload our possessions, and plan my Grand US Tour in advance of shuttling puppers and myself to the other side of the planet.

 

Last challenge ended up focusing on support of my Nerds, a weak-ass offering from the Hype Train, and staying engaged.

 

For this challenge, I'm involved with the mini - so my ass had better set some sort of example. It would be more beneficial to all of that were a *good* example.

 

Goals

 

Goal The First: Macros, Yo

 

If I'm not Bucket listing it or at an event with Chef friends, I need to eat what I need to be eating to not feel like utter shit.

 

That includes a mostly-paleo diet following the following macros:

 

70g protein

70g or under carbs

100g or under fats

 

Now, given my current life circumstances (namely, the best damn brunch game in town run by a friend in my freaking building), a little leeway for fresh English muffins on the benny and chilaquiles is permitted on weekends. Also: travel. I need to reign in the carb I've crawled in, and the sheer volume of food I am consuming while traveling.

 

Goal The Second: Prep For Takeoff

 

Print, codify, collate, and color-coordinate as much moving-plan-wise as possible.

 

Book as much travel as I'm able.

 

Adult things like the dog shots & my vaccinations.

 

Also, film a weekly update for YouTube.

 

And, plan when and how to get rid of my shit - plan the "house cooling" party.

 

Pack the shit we're storing with friends.

 

Spend as much time as possible with local friends.

 

Detail aaaaaaaalll this minutia.

 

Goal The Third: #YogaEveryDamnDay

 

Since I'm the --Science-- *cough* Medical *cough* Officer in this cycles' mini (Sciiiiiiiiiience!), and my body is screaming a 'Come To Jesus', I need to amp my nonexistent yoga game up by a trillion.

 

10 mins of yoga a day (dicking around counts) + a pose of the day + pics or it didn't happen.

 

Even if my ass has to get out of bed to make it happen.

 

Or yoga in bed. Whatever. Just. Freaking. Do. It.

 

Or ...

 

No zoning out with YouTube vids, plus 30 mins on the treadmill - 10 of which must be spent moving rapidly.

Today

Goal 1: Macros

Nooooooope. I'm on a vacation this week that involves putting my husband on a plane.

Today I've eaten:

Hotel breakfast of eggs, 1 slice of sausage and a baby lemon poppyseed muffin

Sushi roll/Pork dumpling/ginger salad/miso soup lunch with a glass of wine

Logans Roadhouse dinner - steak & loaded fries because: nostalgia. Avoided the Roadhouse Tea but had a quarter of a blackberry diabetes tea.

Watched the DH eat two slices of lemon meringue pie.


Goal 2: Prep For Takeoff

Picked up some last minute "we have nothing to do but wander REI" things for the DH; picked up some travel shit I forgot to pack myself for this week away.


Goal 3: Yoga

Yup. Got 10 mins in @ the hotel.

Aaaaaaand my brain decided to go into panic mode last night - scored a 62% with 6:24 on my sleep app. No. Bueno. Freaked about: the dog, the DH leaving, staying overnight at a friend's house - and the drama that may ensue with my Ohio visit re: sleeping arrangements.

Which just proves that brains are funny things - I was the kid that had to be driven home in the middle of the night because of panic attacks stemming from not having control over my environment.

Today - yoga to do, traveling to best friends' house, munchkin snuggling.

An Update

I've been visiting the godkids since Tuesday.

Food has been better than it has been -- I've been spoiled by my bestie who is amazing and cooks better than I do.

Put DH on a plane last night - sads.

No word on doggo.

Been mostly Slack on yoga - did 10 mins yesterday but did not take a pic. Owe myself a double session of punishment when I get home.

Also: cancelled my health insurance, got the DH's stuff all ready to go, and dropped off some of the stuff I'm jettisoning.

Update needs to be filmed and posted still - I believe I have one left that I've filmed but have not yet posted.

Yesterday

Managed half the amount of yoga - at bedtime - took a pic, buuuuut it was completely black because: dark.

Food was ... food. Grabbed a snack at Starbucks, had the chicken tikka from Nom Nom's new book for lunch (amaze), then hit Viking Burger for dinner - and OMFG THAT PLACE IS AMAZING.

Vikings.
