Chapter the Fourth: Back in the Game

I'm baaaaaaaack.

And ready to kick some ass. Since I'm coming in on a challenge that's almost done, lemme cut right to the chase:

Goals:

1. Meditate for 15 minutes daily.

2. "Run" three times per week (~30 to 35 mins per day).

-Caveat: This isn't a consistent run for the whole time. I'm not there yet. It's more of a run 1:15 mins and walk 2 mins. But it's something.

3. Prepare at least 4 CookSmarts meals next week.

-Those of you who aren't familiar with CookSmarts should go here: https://www.cooksmarts.com/ This stuff is amazing. Swear to god.

4. Devote a minimum of 1 hour per day to the CPA exam.

-Yes, it's a lot, but I'm getting down to the wire with test number 1, and I want to get that bad boy knocked out pronto.

5. Devote a minimum of 1 hour per day to my class studies.

-See #4.

6. Update to/do list daily.

7. Update finances daily.

8. Go to bed no by no later than 11 pm nightly.

Ho-kay. Now that all of that's handled, here's what I've been up to:

1. Got married. Best day of my life. Ever. Seriously. Not to mention, we through a party fit for the gods!

2. Got an internship / job. This one was an enormous load off of my shoulders. I feel like I can actually focus on getting stuff done now.

3. Finished summer semester with all A's. Now I've got one more semester left to go with a kickass GPA to boot.

Anyway, all is well, and that's why I'm back. I've had some amazing victories due in no small part to all of your encouragement here. Now, it's time to build on all of that and finish the year even stronger. See y'all on the front lines.

Minor adjustment to run plan: Going to do 3 days per week-Friday, Sunday, and Tuesday. This way, I can skip over my two busiest days (Wednesday and Thursday) and hopefully cut down on any excess stress to my schedule.

So, I'm managing to at least get most of my studying in. Truth be told, that's still my highest priority right now, but it's also the easiest thing to get done considering my work schedule.

What's odd to me is that I can't seem to fit in 15 minutes of meditation these days. I mean, it's fifteen minutes, right?!

The bedtime thing is hard just because I so badly want to stay up and do things. My wife says I'm weird because it's so hard to get me into bed at nights. Last night was easier because the power went out, but even then, it probably took me a couple of hours to fall asleep. I know why, though. I'm drinking caffeine in the evenings so I can stay awake in class. It's terrible for me, but even with caffeine, I find myself nodding off.

I'm not going to get around to that CPA study. I might not get in bed by 11 pm. My buddy is up from out of town and is playing a show about 30 mins away, but the show starts at 9:30 and won't end until 10:15.

Methinks I should have thought this challenge out a little more instead of diving face first into it.

So, last night went a little late. In my defense, my buddy's band didn't even start until 11:30 pm, so I knew that one was shot. As far as the rest, well, I've got no excuses. Fallout 4 is way too addictive.

Anyway, today's a new day. I've made some healthy progress towards my financial analysis stuff, and I have a better handle on the material for my other classes, so there's that.

Also, it's day two for my running commitment. That means I've got the opportunity for some huge wins today.
