Keeping with my goals for improving circus, losing those last few pounds, and increasing my flexibility, all while not losing strength, maintaining my energy levels and eating well, I have put together an overly complex google docs tracking system for what is essentially a very boring challenge. But hey, spreadsheets are pretty, right?

 

1. Diet

Stay below target calories each day. Assess target vs. energy levels vs. weight to continually maintain appropriate caloric goal.

 

2. Circus

Open gym 1x/week

Class 1x/week

Choreography. Due to various life things, I probably will not be participating in the next student showcase at my studio. The official yea/nay day is 9/23, so I must decide by then. Regardless, I'd still like to choreograph something. Likely to this song. 

 

3. Flexibility

Warm up prior to any circus or muggle workout. Stretch out after any circus workout.

 

4. Meal prep

Food goes easier through the week when I think ahead. Make at least two "for the future" (or lots of leftovers) dishes throughout the challenge.

 

 

Now I have 5 days to gear up for this.

Yep. A couple songs had been calling to me to build a routine to go with them. Timing for my gym's student showcase was approximately correct so I'm attempting to get something together.  I probably won't have something structured enough to actually perform in the showcase, but it'll satisfy my creative itch to create a routine anyway.

Reality Hits. One day, you will catch a glimpse of The Chasm. You’ll see – with stark, horrible clarity – how far it is from where you are to where you want to be. Years. YEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAARRRRRS. Years. It’s horrible.

 

Hrghhh, the chasm though. Too real. I often feel like not even time and hard work will make some things possible and it is a terrible sinky feeling.

Okay... Challenge started on Saturday (still weird)

 

So--

 

Saturday

Well within calories (yay!)

Went for an hour's walk with the hubs at the local park (yay!)

Played lots of Destiny 2 (yay!)

 

Sunday

Well within calories (yay!)

Made this deliciousness and have plenty of leftovers in my fridge (yay!)

Did not workout, lift weights or otherwise move much (boo!) aside from getting all the laundry done because I...

Played lots of Destiny 2 (yay!) ... this will be a theme going forward, FYI.

 

I'm also having miscellaneous fun looking at my step counts, sleep patterns, etc. with my Fitbit. I've had it approximately three weeks and enjoy all the data quite a bit, though I'm not tracking anything to do with it for this challenge. (My calorie goal is based on my current weight and desired rate of weight loss, not on how much activity I've done on any given day)

 

Plan for the rest of this week:

Tonight--Circus open gym. The goal is to play. I think my choreo block is due to putting too much pressure on myself and panicking, so tonight it will just be play. Ignore the chasm!

Tomorrow--Meeting up with my D2 folks in game to get some of our weekly stuff done.

Wednesday--Circus class. Hopefully it won't be cancelled this week

Thursday--Muggle workout, lower body

Friday--Different D2 stuff planned with online buddies

Saturday--Muggle workout, upper body

Sunday--Weather permitting, outdoor cardio at the park (if not, maybe the treadmill)

Eh, so it did! -- ah well. I'll be a rebel in the other direction this time...

 

It's super good and filling and low calorie. Perfect when I'm trying to keep my calories under control. And the cabbage stays raw enough that it's still crunchy, so it's not like, horrible fully cooked slimy cabbage. :)

So this schedule got screwed right off the bat.

 

Went down to the circus gym yesterday and the place is dark. No one around. :( Apparently evening class had been cancelled without anyone's knowledge and as such there were no warm bodies around to have the place available for open gym. (Fortunately, a quick note to the owner got my refund right quick). So, I struggled home through rush hour and did a somewhat condensed leg workout in place of my play time at the gym. This means Thursday will need to be Something Else, but I'll figure that out depending on how I feel after class tomorrow evening.

Uugh I would be so pissed if that happened to me.

You had to put on your workout clothes, a sports bra AND get there! Glad you got a refund.
