The Doodlies learn from each other! - The not so PVP challenge

We are The Doodlies aka Accountabiddlydoodlies - aka Miscellaneous Beings Intent on Losing Weight*

*This is a Closed Group and only open to current and former Doodlies - you know who you are.  Please PM for interest

The Doodlies are a bunch of people who together for a while now. We have had our ups, we have had our downs. But the main thing is we stuck together for all that time. At this point it feels like we are in a bit of a slump lately. It is time we do something that helps us have a look into the daily grind we go to. To help us bond and better understand each other. 
With this idea in mind i had a bolt of inspiration yesterday. 

 

IN order to better understand each other every doodlie designs a workout challenge for the others. This workout will lst for a week and is meant to be a view into the routine of the doodlie who designed the workout routine. Every doodlie gets a number assigned. The workout of the week will be decided by a die roll. 
The workout routine you design has to be a routine where you need as little equipment as possible to make sure everyone can participate. 
If there are excercises that you can not do just ask the designer if there is an alternative you can do.

If you run into any difficulties post them here to discuss them and help each other out.

 

Try to keep you workout secret until you are rolled.

We will roll for a new workout every sunday.

I want to play, especially since this isn't competitive. But my workouts all require equipment. I'll have to be creative to come up with something that's 'me'.

I was just planning on describing my full workout then letting people adapt it to their own needs, abilities and equipment. Since it's not competitive it doesn't matter so much if people can't do it, or if they bastardise it so much it's unrecognisable.

This week will be all about our FFD, our Monk ranger cross over, our Glorious post maker, our magic wielding morgan la feye. TERAH. 
Her workout will be the workout of the week. 

I can already feel my butt hurting somewhat just by the idea of her workout.

Get ready to shake some  booty! 

My normal workout routine:
Tuesday - 45 min zumba
                - 60 min dancehall/hiphop
Thursday - 45 min zumba
                  - 20 min kettlebell
Friday       - 60 min dancehall/hiphop
                 - 20 min kettlebell

 

Now you can follow this schedule, or do a light version of it. Whatever fits your schedule.

 

Some tips so you won't get injured while dancing
- Bend your knees! All the time. Don't EVER lock them.
- Put your weight on the front/outside of your foot. It will make it easier to turn and twist, and you won't hurt your knees
- Keep your knees above your feet. This means that a wider stance means going deeper.  Like this:

- Engage your abbs. If you feel your lower back acting up, you're not using your abbs like you should.
- If you can't go all the way down (because knees/back/neck injuries) DON'T! Just go down as far as you can without hurting yourself
- Having trouble following the steps? Focus on your feet, add the arm movements when you're ready. Still having trouble? Make up your own version and have fun with it :D

 

- Want to do a body roll: bend your knees, knees are above your feet, shoulder with apart. Puff up your chest. Now, pretend you put on a shirt: pul it over your head, over the sides of your body, and pop your booty :D

- Want to shake your booty: bend your knees, knees are above your feet, shoulder with apart. Engage your abbs. Push your pelvis to the front, and than your booty to the back. Repeat. It doesn't have to go fast. Just do it as fast as you're able. This is a great pelvic floor exercise!
- Want to shake your boobs? Well, you're not going to. You will shake your shoulders: right shoulder back, left to the front, change. Make sure your hips stay still. You're boobs will follow (if you have those ;) ). Again: go as fast as you're comfortable with.  (

 

Zumba workout
This workout is aproximately 45 minutes. But if you don't have that much time just pick a few :)
And remember to listen to your own body and just have fun with it!
