Diadhuit gets organized for winter (or... she tries!)

With autumn my schedule becomes crazy... On top of working and commuting (walking) 45minutes each way, I have the following (in parenthesis the earliest I can arrive home):

Monday - Mindfulness (8.30)

Tuesday - eventual  meetups

Wednesday - Lectio Divina (8.30)

Thursday - Pilates at lunchime - eventual  meetups

Friday - usually I am too tired to even go out, but soemtimes I see some friends

Saturday - workshops sometimes

Sunday Crochet each other week (12 to 3), Lectio Divina + Mass (6 to 9--> arriving home not earlier than 9.30)

 

And I also have to prepare for a presentation at one of the meetups...

Looking at this you can understand why I am not so upset about the "breakup" that happened last challenge

Now what I need is to be organised!

 

Main goal: don't loose focus on what is important because of what is urgent

 

The multiplier is a thing o help me tracking the goal during the challenge: I calculate the percentage (e.g. I ate vegetables 2 days out of 4 passed = 50%) then multiply for it to get the final result (50*1.2=60%).

60% is the passing grade

90% is the loot grade
 

Passing the challenge => all quests is 60% or more

Getting the loot => all quests is 90% or more

 

Quest 0 Walk to or from work, 10k steps on weekends

Using habits for the weeks, step tracker for the weekends / holidays

This is a habit already for working days, but I want to keep it as the weather changes and the days are shorter.

Multiplier: 1 as in the last 9 weeks I skipped only 3 working days and sometimes in the weekend

 

Quest 1 Physiotherapy exercises

Using habits, I need to do the knee plank for one song (keeping it as much as I can) and then go in the downward dog  and then the snake with the roller for a second song

Multiplier: 1.4

 

Quest 2 Prepare breakfast and lunch for next working day

1 point if both, 0 otherwise. If lunch provided by the company or WFH is considered 'ticked'.

Using habits

Multiplier: 1.2 WORKING DAYS ONLY!

 

Quest 3 Eat 6 Freggies a day

Using the tracker app, tracking all nutrients

- not tracking => -1

Multiplier: 1.2 (it should be harder so keeping last challenge multiplier, to be revised in two weeks)

 

Quest 4 Mindfulness exercises

Using habits, I need to do the simple exercises that the teacher gives us (this week: being mindful when you brush your teeth and a body scan exercise)

Multiplier: 1.2

 

Level up my life

Next month I hope to start the spiritual exercises. I it happens, it means that I will probably need 1.5 hours of prayer per day (that makes me think where will I find the time!).

For now I need to start a half an hour prayer on the scriptures.

1 point for the pray as you go scripture meditation or mass

1 point for lectio divina or 20 min reflection on the scripture (5 min bodyscan + 15min prayer)

1 point for the examen

to a max of 3 points per day

using habits to track

Multiplier:  1.4 for the first two weeks, tbd for the second two

 

Loot: something for the halloween party

could be the costume or the hairdresser or similar.

 

I know it's a lot, but 3 quests are either very little time consuming or already established... it should be fine... Wish me luck!

That's how I feel about a lot of the things I want to start doing. My schedule's already packed!

Yeah, I think time is my worst enemy! And days are getting shorter, so I am getting more tired. I had a very lazy weekend in which I did a bunch of stuff and I didn't all the things I needed to do... I thought it would gave me energy and yet today I feel with no energy at all!

So as a start I was successful on all quests but the food intake one where I get a -1 for forgetting to track.
Not bad as a start...

Huge fan of this. I was talking to a couple of other people today about thinking about using their time for things based on priority, instead of some arbitrary moral argument (I "should" do this, it would "be good" if I did that). Your phrasing is very eloquent and captures that elusive extra element that is randomness: sometimes things pop up at you seemingly out of nowhere. Don't let them derail you! You know what's important! 

 

I'm glad to hear your challenge is going well so far. Keep up the good work, you got this!

@Wobbegong how do you manage to always find the right moment for the right encouragement?
I had completely forgot about that line and I started ignoring it... But now I am aware of it again and will try to remember it!
I am lucky enough that I have a strong moral compass that prevents me from arbitrary moral judgement (in my dad's words: the only thing you 'have to do' is dying) but I actively use it for an extra push on the quests (e.g. I 'should' do my phy exercises)
Randomness in a biggie in my life: having no one to report to, I am free as the air and that brings me to flow wherever and land in random places. I am stunned at how some things are happening in my life, without my control but with just my wish!

Mmm, so freggie is still -1/2 because of training at work I have little control over my lunch (sandwiches) and my fruit intake (nonexistant). Today could be even worse than yesterday. And it is going to last all week :(
If I don't take action this will affect the loot!
I will have veggie breakfast and see if I can sneak in a veggie dinner.

No freggie breakfast nor dinner (first was ready already, and I was too stuffed for the latter)

I feel I am falling off the wagon, so I need a bit of a data to prove or disprove it.

 

Quest 0 Walk to or from work, 10k steps on weekends

 

100% i never skipped a day

3/4 --> 100%

3/4 --> 75%

Ok, not so bad beside the freggie failure for now.

Thing is:

- I lost the mindfulness exercises! I'll replace with 5 min breathing exercise

- I am so low in energy that I struggle with some bad choices: e.g. Yesterday I bought breakfast (a very sugary one) and then I ate it just before sleeping, I was already in bed! But so tired that I robotically took the package even if my brain was saying no! Abort! Abort! With red flashing lights!

As I was writing in the mini-challenge my brain just triggered a scare for no reason. Could it be a mild panic attack?
On a side I started feeling a little pain on my right wrist (I have a high pain tollerance) and I am tempted to call the physio out for a couple of days because it is strong on the wrists and don't want to hurt myself. I'll skip today and tomorrow, and review Saturday.

So it might be the mini-challenge [emoji524] [emoji524] [emoji524] but I feel pretty happy today! The feeling I had yesterday went away. I went to culture night with some friends, and then with some others, so I am joyful!!
I even followed@Wobbegong, @zeroh and others tip and texted the guy from last challenge (it was something I have seen on culture night we talked about, so I thanked him for suggesting it to me and it was a text he can feel free to reply or ignore, so I won't overthink about it :) )
Now I am ready for a good night of sleep after walking, dancing, going to museums, to a classical/techno concert, drinking tea.
These nights out should happen more often!

Quest 1 Physiotherapy exercises

Multiplier: 1.4

Pain is down, so I'll resume exercises. If I find that it is coming back again I'll switch to breathing exercises to avoid breaking the already non-formed habit

 

Quest 2 Prepare breakfast and lunch for next working day

4/5 --> 96%

Multiplier: 1.2 SUN TO THU ONLY!

 

Quest 3 Eat 6 Freggies a day

1/6 --> 20%

Multiplier: 1.2 (to be revised next week)

 

Quest 4 Mindfulness exercises

7/12 --> 70%

Multiplier: 1.2

 

Level up my life

12/18 --> 93%

Multiplier:  1.4 for the first two weeks, tbd for the second two

 

I did find very difficult to meditate and pray toward the end of the week, I don't know if it was work (5 days intensive training, I was brain fried) or a tiredness/melancholy that comes with autumn.

 

What is important next week:

- meditation and prayer

- Monday meditation course

- Wednesday lectio divina

- Find a meditation spot at home BY 1st October

- Eat my freggies

Other tasks next week:

- I am giving a talk on Thursday

- Buy tickets for Christmas

- house keeping

- night out on Tuesday? I have two half invitations...

- alcohol free disco on Saturday

- Research night on Friday

Woo I'm back! Looks like you're doing pretty ok and I really like your week one check-in and the results of what to give a little extra focus to this week. But... what happened to your freggie fist yesterday?! 

 

Glad you are back! Your absence was felt! with you and Flea taking a break it was pretty quiet here :)

Sunday break... I didn't had one meal home, but I got better today!

So yesterday my freezer gave up a bit, and I got hit slightly by a car... so, well, food log reflects that and I am ok with it.
Today my ankle hurts but I believe is mainly psycosomatic.
Not going very well with my goals, I should regroup and reevaluate
