Teirin
Goal 1 - Set the new place up so it is easier to workout, clean, and sleep Get workout room set up unpack all boxes get liners for the kitchen cupboards get a new tray for the kitty litter boxes Make sure that everything in the bedroom is easy to move so I can dust around it Sort out the bathroom sink Set up the wall of Victory and Shame The plan is to set it up so I never need to move anything or set anything up to workout. It's just there. Goal 2 - Accumulate at least 70 points/day in RH's Life is Busy workout Seriously, this one is pretty much made for me. Don't fuck it up. I got 75 points yesterday after working 12 hours. No excuses. Goal 3 - Keep using the sleep calculator on work nights. It's showing me that even nights that I'm not waking up, I was heading to bed at a bad time to wake up between sleep cycles and not feel like crap. Goal 4 - Hermit one evening per week. Read, work on my game, play the guitar, play video games, putter in the kitchen, whatever. Because my challenges need music: 2 Quote Behave yourself, badly if necessary. Kishi
Ooh! Sounds like you're Greasing the Groove at this point. If that's what you got time for and that's what you can manage, then good on you for doing it! This new place sounds like it's gonna be pretty great. Also, your music's always awesome. It's a new set of exercises and stretches each week and set up to not even need a warm up. Considering this week has involved 2 12 hour work days already, this is perfect. Thanks! I have high hopes. Current status of goals: Goal 1: Not much done since Sunday, some tidying and setting of things but not a lot. Sunday was videogame day and maintenance chores. Goal 2: Sunday - 130 points, Monday - 75 points, Tuesday - 70 points or maybe a few more, Wednesday - 105 points. All good so far. Too many cabs this week due to rain or dress pants but I walked a few mornings. I did miss stretching on 2 days, which is pretty bad. I had a good stretch and foam roll session on Sunday anyway. I do find that it helps keep my back in better shape. Goal 3: Used every night but sleep has been light and interupted. I've been getting to bed on time but still feeling like crap. Last night I stayed up late reading, ate late (which works for me), and took an extra puff off the inhaler. It was only 6.5 hours of sleep but it was good deep sleep and I woke up between sleep cycles. Best night of sleep so far this week. Go figure. I already know I sleep much better on my schedule but being able to sleep like that earlier would be much better. Goal 4: hermit night was going to be Tuesday but I needed groceries and ended up getting some chores done as well. I didn't deal with many people but it wasn't really relaxing either. No dice. In good/bad news: friends are away at a convention, and one of their cats is alone for Thursday to Monday. His kitty is lonely (bad) but I will be visiting her daily and settling in for a read and snuggle session (good). I already had a sample chapter from Rivers of London on my kindle app but seeing the discussion on SaraKingdom's thread has prompted me to pick it up, largely on a whim. Mostly through the second chapter so far and enjoying it. 1 Quote Behave yourself, badly if necessary. Current Challenge Judo - Shodan My Character Link to comment

Kishi
Well, if you managed to land between cycles, you would wake up feeling refreshed. The persistence of that feeling is a matter of how many of those cycles you managed to land. So. Sorry to hear that hermiting isn't going so hot. As someone who needs the same, that can be awfully frustrating. Hope you get it! Quote Work like a farmer, train like an athlete, fight like a soldier. 2 Tim. 2:3-6 BATTLE! Link to comment

Friday - Sunday were busts for exercises. I was sick. Sleep was also quite bad. Hermitting time was way up and I got some reading done. That said, cleaning will be up the next few days as I have now sneezed on everything. Have also confirmed a small rodent living above the ceiling panels. Cally is thrilled. I did watch the first few episodes of Earth 2 while congealing on the couch yesterday. So far, it holds up to my teenage memories. 1 Quote Behave yourself, badly if necessary. Mistr
I like your challenge goals. Sorry that work has been a pain. Any chance that work stress has something to do with going to bed late and not getting good sleep? Sounds like you may get a free cat toy and extra cleaning if the small rodent makes its way from the ceiling into your apartment. Sounds like you may get a free cat toy and extra cleaning if the small rodent makes its way from the ceiling into your apartment. Work stress doesn't help, but the primary problems are differences in sleep scheduling and an overactive brain at night. I sleep very well from 2 to 10 am. Not compatible with a standard workday. Then my most productive hours of the day are about 10 pm to 2 am, and I'm trying to go to sleep in the middle of that. Even if I'm exhausted during the day, I perk up those hours. Rodent situation: my landlord connected me to a pest control specialist who will be in on Friday. We'll see how that goes. I'm not ok with sticky traps or anything that makes the critter suffer. Catch and release or quick kill only, and I have specified this. I'm reasonably at peace with death by cat so long as they don't play with their food overmuch. My prev cat was a murderous little hunter so I got over anything regarding that. Apartment sorting: still sterilizing post cold. Planned to start on Monday but ended up working an unplanned 12 hour day :-/ Exercise points: back at it but still low. Better tonight, with the new set of exercises for the week. Sleep: improving again but my lungs still fill like crap. Hermitting: not yet this week. Sometimes you need a metal cover of Toto's Africa 2 Quote Behave yourself, badly if necessary. I think it's really common to wake up again if you miss your first sleep time. I know this pattern well, I've been working very hard to train myself out of it. But it's what I'd do, left to my own devices. (I've managed to move my wake-up point to 7 or 8, but I haven't really managed to move the time I'm ready to sleep. Through sheer willpower, I can get to bed earlier, but that doesn't always mean I sleep till 2am.) Kishi
I know the feel of needing to read more. I feel like I need to read more as well. I'm glad to hear that the hermitting worked! And glad to hear that RH worked out for you as well. It sounds all in all like you wound up in a better place than when you started, which is the underlying goal of everything we do around here. So! Nice job! 1 Quote Work like a farmer, train like an athlete, fight like a soldier. 2 Tim. 2:3-6 BATTLE! Link to comment
Mistr
Glad to hear that RH is just what you need. No worries about the unpacking. Those boxes are safe and will wait as long as you need them too. In a pinch you can put throws on them and have them pretend to be furniture. I like your hermitting goal. Someday I'll get on top of things enough to do that again. 1 Quote Level 68 Viking paladin My current challenge Battle log Link to comment
