There is never a sudden revelation, a complete and tidy explanation for why it happened, or why it ends, or why or who you are. You want one and I want one, but there isn't one. It comes in bits and pieces, and you stitch them together wherever they fit, and when you are done you hold yourself up, and still there are holes and you are a rag doll, invented, imperfect. And yet you are all that you have, so you must be enough. There is no other way.

Updated and tweaked the entire list to focus more on specific achieveable goals for 2013 as well as added some long terms goals, etc.

Finally, created a Completed section to give myself some motivation to see what I've accomplished.

Also, Steve and Staci, if you read this, you should hold a meet in the Twin Cities area for us Midwest folks.  I could knock out 2 goals in 1 night!

So today was a pretty epic day.  First, did my first distance run in a long time.  It was only about 2.5 miles, but my ankle didn't hurt (however, I could definitely tell I have to get my stamina back up).

Second, through talking with my wife's cousin's dad, I found that he shot long distance rifles as a hobby and he was very excited to take me out shooting.  So today we went for the first time.  He let me use one of his old hunting rifles while he used his big honkin' bad mamma-jamma rifle that he uses for 1000 yard competitions.  Today, however, we were just playing around at a distance of 100 yards.

After some quick lessons from him on how to sit properly and trying to figure out how to use a scope (it's harder then it seems apparently), this is the result.

3 shots, 3 bulls-eyes.  Mind you, it's was pretty easy given how well his guns are maintained and the fact that he makes all his own ammo specific for each gun.  He had me trying different ammo that he'd made just to show me how each would shoot much different.  Likewise he had me shoot 5 rounds out of his rifle just to see how much different each gun felt.  We didn't start going into what was causing the differences yet, but it was super fun, even if it was a little cold.  Half way to my yearly goal already!

Finally, finished the day up with a gym visit and set 2 new PRs.  235 on Bench and finally got 150 up on Overhead.  It wasn't pretty but it went up.

Awesome day.  And tomorrow I get to celebrate my Grandfather's 92nd Birthday as well as my Grandparents 70th Wedding Anniversary!

Take TIG Welding II Class - Completed 2013-05-07

Boom!  While I haven't officially finished the class yet, I have now completed all parts of the class and passed with an A.  I'm still not as consistent as I'd like with my welding, but it's more functional then pretty right now (i.e. it'll hold, it might not look super pretty).  Only 2 more classes and I'm certified in TIG!  Woo!

Clean and Jerk 150 lbs. - Completed on 2013-05-18

Form is NOT good yet.  But at the same time the weight went up.  I'm going to lighten things up and work on form a lot more.  But good to know that 150 wasn't too much trouble even with bad form.  Video in spoiler tag:

Ron Swanson would be proud.

I DID A FRICKIN' STRICT PULL-UP!  WOOO!!  WOOO!!!!!  I hadn't tried doing a strict wide grip pull up in a long time.  Been doing 1-3 Chin Ups and 1-2 Neutral Grip Pull Ups for awhile without issue, and just felt like giving it a shot today.  So awesome.  I'm celebrating with STEAK!

Take TIG Welding III Class - Completed 2013-12-12

Finished my TIG III class with an A.  I now officially feel comfortable welding aluminum.   :)

Also, started going through the list and plotting out 2014.  Plan to work a lot more on body weight stuff.  Get pistols and things down pat.
