Today is a good day. I went to go lift. It's a deload week for juggernaut, so I did 5x5x105 on bench and 5x5x100 on squat.

Then I came home to an awesome meal.

Before I left I had set up my insta-pot, and in it I put a 1.69 lb pork loin roast, sprinkled with himalayan Pink salt and pepper. I then added a chopped onion, a chopped sweet potato, 4 chopped parsnips and half of a cabbage, shredded. I then added a little more salt and pepper and some powdered garlic. On top of that went 3 tbps tomato paste, a can of coconut milk, and the same amount of chicken broth.* I sealed it and cooked it on the meat setting at high pressure for 55 minutes. It was AMAZING. After cooking the pork was shredded with a minimum of effort.

PJ3eS6P.jpg

These are Sra. Tanque's portions.  I had some for lunch and am saving the rest for lunch tomorrow.

* Pour out about half the coconut milk, then put the tomato paste in the rest and stir to loosen up the paste, pour that into the insta-pot and pour chicken broth into the same can to measure.

I hope you've eaten something.

I cooked 1.06 pounds of Flank steak pre cut for stir fry in 1 tbsp coconut oil with Himalayan Pink Salt, Fresh ground pepper and some red wine vinegar. I set that aside and added another tbsp of coconut oil (There were juices from the beef as well). I then added a minced white onion and two cloves garlic and stirred that for a bit. Then I added a chopped red bell pepper, a yellow squash (sliced) and a zucchini (sliced), along with a bag of pre-diced butternut squash seasoned with sea salt, pepper and red wine vinegar. I let that cook then added in the beef.

But wait, there's more.

I added a can of coconut milk, 2 tbsp garam masala, some more salt, and smoked paprika and stirred it all up.

Ok, now you can eat.

I had another counseling session today, my big takeaway is that I can find meaning in what I endured in a bad relationship by helping others with similar relationships.

I see you offering a lot of insight to Elize, so I know you're already giving back.
The perspective and the reassurance that it's not her must help so much, coming from someone who legitimately understands what she's going through.

Today is a good day. I did NF Yoga Water A to kick the dunwannas in the face. Lunch was a pound of ground beef, seasoned with salt and pepper and avocado oil. I set that aside and added more avocado oil to the pot, then added half a diced onion, a 2 diced gala apples, a diced bartlett pear, some fresh cut sage I had sliced, 2 cloves of minced garlic, and more salt and pepper. I also added the juice of half a cara cara orange and ate the other half to pass the time. I let that cook for a while, then added half a shredded cabbage and some chicken broth. After the cabbage got soft I added the beef back in. It was awesome.

Today is a good day. Sra. Tanque took the day off, so we had breakfast together. She had an appointment, so I went for a walk (got in two miles and change) after getting a haircut. I made lunch for us.

I warmed a ham steak in a skillet in 2 tbsp coconut oil (3 min a side) and set that aside. I then turned the heat down to medium and added a chopped apple and a sliced onion and cooked for five minutes, then I added thyme, mustard and 1/4 c beef broth and stirrd. I let it simmer on medium for 5 minutes after added the ham steak back on top. While that was going I cooked shredded brussel sprouts in 1 tbsp coconut oil and 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar with salt, pepper and garlic powder. It was awesome. I then went for a ride along with an officer which went really well. She and her husband own a crossfit box here in town, so we were able to talk fitness. We went to Jerusalem Grill Where I got the mixed shwarma platter for dinner. Since we were in uniform they brought us some Authentic Turkish Coffee.

Oh.

My.

God.

That coffee was a religious experience, and I needed all my theological education to fully process what had happened to me when I drank it.

The ridealong went really well, fun and laid back, no drama.

I don't often feel the caffeine take effect, and certainly not while I'm drinking it. But that's not what I meant; the flavor was incredible.

The only thing better than Turkish coffee is free Turkish coffee. That sounds like a great ride along.

Actual question, not smart-assery, if she chased someone or was struggling with someone do you jump in? Do you carry while in uniform?

Typically I do not jump in. I don't have the training (nor the medical coverage. If an officer get's hurt on the job they can claim workmans comp. I'd have to use my medical insurance through my hospital job). If it were life and death, I'd do what I could to protect the life of an officer. I do not carry while in uniform. I am a civillian volunteer, so I am unarmed as a police chaplain. As a private citizen I have my license to carry through the State, but I only carry when I'm not doing police stuff (or at the hospital, since they have signs prohibiting concealed carry).
