Luciana Valerosa Culming - Let's change the difficulty level!

With this challenge I get back to level 10. So I had a few successful challenges and I've been slowly trying to get back into some kind of healthy routine. But now I want to try going back into the options and set the difficulty-level from easy to normal again. That means, I'll try to eat healthier and do more exercise and get in some more study time. For zero week I'll test out these goals and see, if I have to change anything.

 

So I'm serving some hot new goals:

Goal One:  Food

Overcome the Virus and scavage enough for food

 

Since I changed my diet and incorporated moderate exercise, I haven't been getting sick so much anymore. Let's see, if this also helps when it's getting colder again. I'll start counting calories again and stop snacking. I don't want to gain more weight and also I want to have an eye on what I eat, because it will get more stressfull the closer my exams draw.

 

- 5 portions of freggies

- 3l of water

- count calories

- no snacks until December... Only birthday cakes, if I get invited to any parties.

 

Goal 2: Exercise

Don't let them outrun you

 

For morning routine it's all right, if I get it in. Just do something for 20 minutes. If I get up earlier, I'll do more. But for now I just want to keep the momentum and try to stick to my new found routine during my new schedule. There are a few days, where I have to get out quite early, so it doesn't make any sense to do more days with this routine. But I can try to extend the sessions a little on the other days. And I'll try out Aikido this challenge. Let's see how it goes.

 

- morning routine 3 times a week (5 tibetans, yoga, sometines also stationary bike for 20 minutes. It depends on when I get up and how much time I've left)

- visit at least two sport classes a week (Tai Chi, Yoga, Aikido, ...)

- go out and walk at least 5km a day on 6 days a week (I won't take my bfs gradfathers offer to drive me around)

 

Goal 3: Study

Get your stuff done and don't give in the lethargy

 

There's some intense stuff going on this semester. So I'll have to up my numbers.

 

- at least 30 hours a week (includes time I spent at university and drawing for my art exam.)

 

Bonus: To-Do-Lists at least one item a day

Oh, and I finally updated my tumblr and posted some drawings I did in Italy last month. I'll try to continue working on these and I'll show them to my teacher next week. We then decide if I take the test in November or next year in January.

Zero Week

Last challenge I tried to get back into things to prepare for the new semester. This week my lectures start and I'll try to incorporate this stuff into my new schedule. I'm going to have three big tests until the beginning of February and I'll have to take care of several deadlines and organisational stuff.  Next semester will be my last one. When things go well I'm graduating in Autumn 2018. If I don't take care of myself properl, I won't be able to handle the exam stree. That's why I'm going to tweek my timemanagement skills. This challenge I'm trying to incorporate some exercise classes. In a few months I may try to get in some extra learning hours. I want to get used to planning a whole week in advance with a detailed plan and stick to it. So that's a long term goal.

 

Day 1

Started the day with my morning routine. I got up at seven, so I was able to get in 40 minutes of exercise before I prepared breakfast for me and my bf. then I did some chores and bought grocerys for the week. I'm not sure yet, if it will last until next Monday. The last few times I got too much, so this time I got less. Another plannin skill I want to improve.

 

Lectures at the university, three learning hours and a small lunch followed. Then my met with friends and enjoyed a good role play session. That really was fun. My character developed a lot the last few weeks.

 

Day 2

Did my morning routine again. This time only my tibetans and five sun salutations for about 30 minutes. Had some lectures, did some organisational stuff relating my studies and had a lentil soup with a friend for lunch. I think with a busy schedule it's even more important to socialize.

 

Tai Chi Chuan was great. For the first time in years we had a good group size of students. We were a group of ten - eight people are new! I really hope at least some of them will come again. And some of them were really good, too, considering they all had to learn a new form. I watched somebody else and realized a error I might have been doing for a while. I'm looking forward to next Tuesday. ;)

 

Day 3

I had to get up at 5:30 to get to the train in time. Next Tuesday I'll definitely have to get to bed earlier. After my lecture in the morning, I'll have a lot of time to study. Time to prepare my art presentation for next Tuesday. I guess today I'll get less exercise and instead get a lot of study and drawing time in. ^^

@The ShogunThe star is usually for bonus things. So if I put a star in study, it would mean I not only studied but also drew some stuff. Or last time it ment I didn't do the short morning routine. A star was a long morning workout. Like a sticker in a BJ. For Wednesday I put down a star for goal 3. It indicates I did some drawing and stands for the five sketches I did yesterday. Usually stars are for tweeks I haven't been doing regular enough.

It definitely feels more intense. I was tired today and took some rest this afternoon before Aikido. Sunday evening I'll know, if I have to change anything. This challenge should be challenging, but I don't want to feel waisted. Time to search for the sweet spot.

Let's hope next week goes as well as zero week. I'm often a little enthusiastic about a new challenge. ^^

The no snacks goal went well, but not perfect. I had some birthday cake yesterday. At least I managed to resist todays dessert. We were invited for dinner at his mothers house and she offered brown and white Mousse au Chocolat. It looked delicious. But I didn't want to make an exception. But I didn't count calories today. I didn't want to ask her about the ingredients she used. I'm glad I was able to stick to my newfound routine to do some yoga in the morning. My morning workout happened four times this week.

 

Mo: 20 min stationary bike, tibetans 15 reps, 5 sun salutations

Tue: tibetans 15 reps, 5 sun salutations and Tai Chi lesson in the evening

We: rest day; only some light walking

Th: 2 hours of yoga in the evening

Fr: 90 min Aikido class (wasn't that intense, we learned some fun basic and about japanese traditions)

Sa: 20 min stationary bike, tibetans 21 reps, 21 sun salutations :star:

Su: 20 min stationary bike, tibetans 21 reps

 

To get in the 30 hours of studying was pretty hard with all the other stuff that was going on. I spent 7 hours in class and the rest was at home study time. But 29 is still a solid number and I'm not stressing myself about getting a perfect score. Instead I'm going to take this evening off and grab a PS4 controler. I'm looking forward to a quiet evening on the sofa. It has been an exhausting week, but for now I won't change any goals. There's still room to wiggle, if I feel overwhelmed.

 

Bonus: I managed to socialize in the forums again. Like I said to a good friend today: "This week has been a bit stressfull. But if I still have time to write on the forums it can't be that bad." xD

Me too. And I'm also glad about doing yoga regulary in Italy. That was really nice. Especially because I could still do it outside. Here it got much too cold in the past two weeks to do so. By the way. I made several sketches this week and I uploaded them to my tumblr.

I'm sure I'll post some more art during the challenge. My presentation ist on the 24th Nobermber, so I'll have to draw some more during the next few weeks. But it's not 30 hours of drawing. Drawing and studying counts towards the 30h.

Uff, I catched a cold. Unfortunately I have a concert ticket for Monday. I guess I'll wait until 12 am before I make a decision. My bf says I should grab some medcine and come anyway. Until now my throut is only a little sore and my nose is full of snot. :/ On the other hand I want to get better fast because of my test at the end of November. And going to a gothic concert sounds like something that would make it worse. I guess I'll start asking some friends, if they have time. I know of at least one person, who wanted to go, but didn't have the money. I guess she would enjoy it much more then me. Being reasonable sometimes sucks.

 

This week didn't go as weel as last week. I already felt tired during the week. And Friday night my cold started together with shark week. So there was my reason for having less energy. Last weekend Chris was sick. I hoped I didn't catch his cold. But it just needed some time.  

 

I'll write a more detailed update in the evening. There won't be much exercise today, but still can count my calories and try studying a little.
