My diet is my biggest barrier to progression right now, so that'll be the main focus for this challenge. The 4 Missions: Defeat Opponents - Complete 3 NFA Body Weight Level 4 workouts each week - /12 Dodge Traps - Skills training/extra activity 3x each week - /12 I might consider trying my first PvP challenge as part of this... any suggestions? Find Food - Eat at Diet Level 5 every day - /27 - Vegetables with each lunch and dinner - Keep to calorie and macro goals - White breads/pasta only once/week or less - Sweets only once/week or less -Halloween gets a free pass Outsmart the Capitol - Meaningful study daily - /28 BONUS QUEST Save Peeta - Try intermittent fasting for one week Keeping up the exercise and study, and really trying to focus on diet. I thought about doing intermittent fasting for the whole challenge, but I don't think it would work that well - I have a feeling I would eat like a maniac when not fasting, and then actually put on a bunch of weight. So I decided to give it a try as a bonus quest, just to see how it would work for me. Scoring - 90% to pass, zero week is bonus points I really need to be more consistent, especially in my diet, if I want to succeed. Still trying to decide my strategy. The skipping breakfast version is most likely to work, but I hesitate to do it because my protein shake for breakfast is the one automated healthy diet habit I seem to have in place. Also for convenience sake, it would be nice to skip lunch, as I struggle with preparing it. That's true. I think I did need the last week of last challenge and the first days of this one to slack off a bit before getting ready to work. I would feel a bit more comfortable with more bonus points as a cushion, but my last couple challenges haven't really needed them, so it should be ok. I'm starting to think the 263 from last week was a glitch, cause this wasn't a three pound loss week, and as bad as the week before was I don't think it was a three pound gain week. Do I get to eat more cause I'm awake when I'm normally not? Do I track what I eat on the pre-midnight or post-midnight day? So many questions... Work out went well today. And mostly eating. I've caught myself sneaking a few mini halloween chocolate bars though... Are your graveyard shifts in addition to you working a day shift as well? Poor Peeta Sometimes I am working the full day and full night (26H), but right now it's just a night shift (11pm-6am). In the past I've found I'm actually usually not too hungry overnight, even though I'm awake, it's usually more just boredom/doing something to stay awake eating. Last night I didn't actually eat anything during the shift. I got some breakfast on the way home which I counted toward today, and then slept. I think that makes sense, since I slept through normal breakfast and lunch times. If this was a long term thing I would probably just break it up by sleep, but since it's only two nights I think it'll work. And yes... Poor Peeta. He doesn't need saving till the end of the book though lol. I slept almost all day today, and still felt tired and didn't get much done. I've also been eating cookies. Didn't get my next workout in, and I've been really not eating very well. I don't know why exactly. Teancum Posted November 3, 2017 Author Report Share Posted November 3, 2017 Well I've had a tough go of it these past couple weeks. Really been hard to get back in the saddle. Definitely hasn't helped that it's been snowy and cold and my kids are sick and keeping me up all night. I really wish I was able to not let these things affect me, but alas. No exercise to speak of, and I've been eating like a fool for the most part. The past couple days I have started trying intermittent fasting. So far it's basically just skipping breakfast, as I continue to eat too late at night, and when I do start eating it's not particularly healthy, but it's a start. I do hope to get back to it next week. By then the kids should be better, most of the Halloween candy should be gone, and I should be used to the cold. So here's hoping!
