Fair enough :) I am really glad I was able to lift your spirits, and everything I said is 100% true.  Sometimes it hard to recognize the effect of things we do/say, especially with regard to online comments.

*hugs* That's very true, why I sometimes don't comment, or rewrite something two, three times before commenting. But you get a feeling sometimes that you just have to say this one thing, and you say it, but aren't sure how it will be taken, because you have no physical queues back from the person to gauge their reaction.

I have come up with a plan for my workout for this challenge.  The workouts will be split between upper and lower body, and will still consist of the usual 3 series.  Unlike previous routines, this one will change for each series based on a matrix.  The upper body portion will have up (Pullups), front (Front Levers), Down (Handstand Pushups), and back (Back Levers), each interspersed with a core exercise (leg raises, planks and sit ups).  The first series will be active, explosive movements that incorporate the full range of motion.  The second series will be slower, controlled movements that focus on power and form and the final series will be static, focusing on endurance.  The upper body matrix is below:

Neat!

Originally she was going to drive up this morning, but in normal traffic that is a 2 hour drive, meaning she would have to get up super early.  Instead, as soon as she got back from work, I drove her up there so she could get a good night sleep and get to her training refreshed.

That was a very nice gesture :)

I sometimes double guess myself after I have posted and feel the need to clarify because I worry that my comment may not have been received as intended.  On more than a few occasions I have even lost sleep over it...

Week 0 Saturday

Around the world workout

I was getting antsy from not working out for a week, so I did my upper body routine this afternoon.  It was probably the least intense workout ever :D It took me about 1.5 hours to go through it because I was taking a five minute break after each item :D  Went with Ghostlet and played football (the real kind, not soccer) with a bunch of friends here at our annual Turkey Bowl.  It was a good time but I think I may have over extended myself - my right shoulder and right hip flexor are really sore.

Stretching

Ghostlet and I went up and stayed with Mi Vieja at her hotel last night because it was close to the place we played football this morning.  Did my stretching in the hotel room.  For the most part it was fine, but I couldn't get any traction for the side splits so I was really scared I was going to slide down and hurt myself.  In the end I decided to skip it rather than risk it.

Food

This week I think I am going to just go with the chili and call it good.  Next week I want to to try a slow cooked pork.  I was able to get my hands on some liquid smoke and I want to try it out.

Do a Good Deed

Yesterday I was tried to help our admin girl fix our office printer.  In the end I wasn't able to do it, but I was able to determine the problem was not the wireless connection.  Apparently ut was a problem with a driver, but downloading the updated drivers and installing them didn't solve it, so we ended up having to call a repair person.  I also was nice to some other drivers in rush hour traffic, letting them cut in front of me even though they were just trying to skip the line.

I think we've all been in that place. :) Communication is hard enough when it's face to face. Take away all context aside from text and it gets even more difficult

Same. What's worse is that if you try to explain yourself over the internet to someone who has already made up one's mind it just reinforces what they believe. It really gets to me when I feel that someone here is mad at me or something. Sometimes I sound like an ass without meaning to.

Thanks!.  In the past my only option for chili was to buy it canned, but it was rarely available and always way over-priced.  Being able to make it myself is great.

I get this all the time too.  Without the context I have no way of knowing how others react to something I have written and I get all anxious about it.  Glad I'm not the only one :)

Great Week 0. All the best for this last challenge. Nice doing a good turn for your fellow drivers out there, and spending some time with Ghostlet playing football.

I was telling someone yesterday what I had done when driving and he said "what? you let them in? screw those guys"  I kind of felt bad for the guy

Week 0 Summary:

Mission 1:  Around The World

I was taking zero week as a much needed rest week.  I did a relatively relaxed version of my upper body routine once and no lower body.  I will be getting into it for real from tomorrow.  I played a game of pick-up football on Saturday and I have been crazy sore yesterday and today.  It has been a while since I used any of those fast twitch muscles.  Ghostlet wanted me to tell everyone here that he had his first match of the season for his football league and his team won 30-24.  Ghostlet scored all 5 of the touchdowns for his team.

Mission 2: Stretching

Stretching has been good, I think I stretched 6 of 7 days last week.  I will be interested to see if I can continue the improvements I got during the last challenge of that was just my n00b gainzZz.

Mission 3: New Recipe

Technically this one didn't count, because although I made a new recipe that I had never made before, neither Mi Vieja nor Ghostlet wanted to try it.  For some reason it is just too weird a food for them (but chicken feet aren't? I don't get it)

Mission 4: Do A Good Turn

Did pretty god this week.  I was able to do a few things for people, but most important I was able to keep the helping mindset.  Even though often there wasn't much to hep with I was much less likely to get angry and quicker to forgive.
