Jlailin
Gah! How did this challenge start already? Time totally got away from me this last week and a half, but I am here now! This challenge is going to be completely ridiculous, since I'm starting late, holiday craziness/parties, and I will be spending the last week of it on vacation in Hawaii. My goals are going to be majorly pared down this challenge just so I can survive it. I'm not going to include strength training in my goals this round, since I ended up throwing out my back during vacation (I'm a bit nervous about trying to lift anything heavy right now) and I don't think I'll get to it in the holiday craziness anyways. Challenge Goals Intermittent Fasting - continue with the 14-16 hour fasting and 10-8 hour feasting schedule During vacation, there is a pass on this for special occasion breakfasts. Try to eat a smaller lunch or skip lunch on these days. Dance! - attend dance classes (kpop, hip hop, motown, zumba, etc) 2-3 times per week During vacation, go hiking, sneak into mother's zumba class, or do a body weight routine at least once a week Organize finances - complete scheduled balance transfers with business partner 3 Quote "Your dreams don't care how you feel." 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | Current Challenge! Wobbegong
No judgement from me about a scaled-back challenge during holiday season. I think it's a perfectly reasonable thing to do. 1 hour ago, Jlailin said: Gah! How did this challenge start already? Time totally got away from me this last week and a half, but I am here now! True, I know zero week doesn't have to be active, but it feels weird for me to not have had my thread up immediately after the last challenge since that's what I did previously. I feel like I've skipped a whole week of actively tracking. >_> 15 hours ago, Wobbegong said: I hope you had fun the last week and a half and were busy enjoying yourself away from NF? Yes! Life was fun and eventful (maybe a little too eventful)! I got to hang out with my family in California and enjoy the warmer weather without worrying about carrying around a coat. My nephew and niece are the cutest things and so much fun. We all swapped stories along with colds. Still getting over mine now. ~_~ I did so much shopping--replaced my old ipad with a pro that can work with the apple pencil so I can draw, and I ended up buying a really, really amazing water-based air purifier! I got to act like a kid again in a bouncy house. I played Pokemon Go with my two older brothers (which was just so cool; I love it when we all play a game together; it makes me feel like we're in a story adventure thing). I ended up throwing my back out while I was packing at the end of my vacation, which was a bummer, but I have discovered the wonders of icy hot patches. I want to go to costco to buy a bulk package of them. 2 Quote "Your dreams don't care how you feel." 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | Current Challenge! Link to comment
Jlailin
Day 1 - 11/29 Intermittent Fasting - I think I did this. I've gotten much more lax about counting the hours, but I didn't eat till 1pm, and I'm pretty sure I stopped eating way before 9pm the previous evening. My body clock is still a little thrown off with the jet lag from vacation about when I'm supposed to eat. (The silly thing is I only actually adjusted to California time on the last two days of vacation. ~_~) Dance - went to my kpop dance class. We had random dancing for awhile because my teacher didn't show up... The coordinator was getting worried and stressed out because none of us could get a hold of her. Then about halfway through class he got a call from my dance teacher's mother saying my dance teacher's car was robbed, she had been hit in the head, and she was in the hospital... I still don't know all the details of what happened because I didn't talk to her mother. I am really hoping that it was only something like a concussion and that she was just in the hospital to be monitored. Ergh. I wanted to go to all the hospitals I knew to look for her, but there are so many hospitals in Chicago that that would be rather ineffective. The coordinator who spoke with my teacher's mother did text to ask for the hospital and promised to forward on information. We think she was at least conscious to be able to tell her mother to call the coordinator, so hopefully it's not that serious. But rawr. I feel so heart broken, helpless, and angry. I need to remember to measure myself tomorrow morning before work. I was supposed to do it this morning to have a baseline of measurements for the beginning of my challenge, but of course, I forgot. >_> Quote "Your dreams don't care how you feel." 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | Current Challenge! I just got word from my teacher today! She had a mild concussion and is on the mend. Physically, she's not that bad. Emotional healing is going to take longer though. I want to give her all the hugs in the world, and I want chase down those responsible with a heavy baseball bat. Haha, I guess the Rebels of today just have too much initiative and like to start early? xD Oh well, it was nice to take a break anyways. Jlailin
Day 2 - 11/30 Intermittent Fasting - check! I've got a cat on my lap, so I can't check my planner to see what I ate, but I did keep my schedule. Dance - rest day! Day 3 - 12/1 Intermittent Fasting - check on the fasting period! ...I did end up finishing eating a bit later, but I had a social activity. Dance - rest day! Did stretches for my thrown out back and went to the chiropractor. I felt decidedly worse this day, so I ended up working from home and getting my spine adjusted. It felt so much better afterwards. Day 4 - 12/2 Intermittent Fasting - Er, kinda? I did skip breakfast and only started eating at 1pm, but I'm pretty sure my last snack thing from the night before was after 9pm. I think I only fasted for 12-13 hours instead of 14. Dinner hasn't happened yet, but I'll be going to a party in the evening, so pretty sure the feasting period will also last longer then as well. Dance - rest day! Did more stretches for my back. My friend slept over, and she was able to help me with a lot of my household chores that required bending, which was really nice. Organize finances - I need to harry my business partner into making the BT today, since it was supposed to be done yesterday--and of course he didn't do it then like he was supposed to despite the fact that I reminded him several days in advance. Ugh. I need to turn myself into annoying nagging person and keep bothering him till its done. Rawr. 1 Quote "Your dreams don't care how you feel." 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | Current Challenge! Jlailin
Day 5 - 12/3 Intermittent Fasting - There was a party the previous night, so I finished my feasting much later... probably around 10pm or so? I still skipped breakfast, and I started eating around 1pm. I got roughly 15 hours of fasting in there. Dance - ...my dance class got cancelled again. TT_TT Thankfully, nothing so dramatic happened this time. The owner got sick and wasn't able to open the studio. I did do my back stretches and exercises to help build up my back muscles. The exercises seem so small, but I really do feel so much better after I do them. Organize finances - I nagged my business partner until he finally completed his task. ...It only took, what? Jlailin
Day 6 - 12/4 Intermittent Fasting - check! I started watching Food Wars after dinner last night, and that was such a mistake. I was so tempted to gorge on snacks/second dinners, but I resisted! Dance - ...I was naughty and skipped my dance class to pick up a package of new shiny, shiny, shiny pots and pans. (Seriously, they are so shiny.) I'm really excited about this set. It will be my first stainless steel set with all these nifty features like cover holders on the handles, temperature gauges in the lids, stack cooking functionalities, and instant trivets from the covers! I want to cook sooooo many things! Back Exercises - I'm just going to make this a new section in my updates, since I need to do them every day anyways. I completed them, and they've been so helpful that I was able to cancel my appointment with the chiropractor today! Woohoo! ...I'm not 100% healed (there are still odd twinges every so often), but I'm so much better than before. 2 Quote "Your dreams don't care how you feel." 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | Current Challenge!
