I honestly have no idea what's in a 'standard' mac'n'cheese, but my mom would put in boiled eggs and mustard to give it some punch...

Indeed! Probably a while before I have a free weekend in Dallas, but I'll enjoy it once I do!

01/02 Wrap-up

  1. Hit target calories and protein, every day: Starts today - weigh-in this morning was 181 pounds w/ estimated 15% body fat. About a pound higher than I expected but not out of line with how I expected to kick off the year, BF %age wise. My mantra for this week is "do not overcorrect."
  2. Sleep 8+ hours a night, 6+ days a week: 7 hours yesterday - not bad but not as high as target
  3. Get pre-gym morning routine down to about 15 minutes: Took nearly 30 minutes today - biggest hurdles were my protein waffles being suuuuuper dry and new PWO being tougher to guzzle than I thought it would be (and ideally, I'd be consuming both those things in the car, but it was freaking COLD this morning and I wanted hot waffles).
  4. Do your scheduled workouts, adjusting as needed: Planned rest day for flight
  5. Start tracking how focused and productive you feel at work: No work day, so N/a here
  6. BONUS GOAL: Took stock of cheese already in house, likely will make some for my Sunday meal prep.

i like all those things so i'd definitely try it... my mother makes her pasta or potato salads with mayo, mustard, and boiled eggs and it's delicious. so sub mayo for cheese? sure!!

That does seem pretty cold for Texas. Even in the north that would seem pretty cold, if we weren't currently having a zero degree frozen tundra wave... the windchill was minus 20 last night, wtf winter? I haven't even been listening to my audiobooks in the car because it seems too cold to take my hands out and plug and turn everything on!

I stand corrected, TZ is right - that is super cold and you are deserving of hot waffles :D

Fortunately, my gloves can still use touchscreens, albeit clumsily. But I would 100% drop my food if I tried to eat it with my gloves.

But pulled pork Mac will happen this year. Even if every Texan will tell me I should use brisket instead.

Fair point - big hangup is I haven't figured out how to make brisket at home yet. But I might just buy some from a local BBQ joint and call it good.

I've never been a fan, but I'm also not much of a fruit eater in general - really just bananas and berries. Again, might be traced back to forced eating in day care as a child. But I probably only call it Satan fruit in a savory context.

North Carolinian officially weighing in as "pro pulled pork" - that sounds amazing in mac'n'cheese. I'm not much of a brisket girl m'self, I think it's geographical.

Yusssss, carolina barbecue is my favorite (also, whatever the heck Bojangles puts in their sauce). I'm a fake Texan, probably explains my lack of brisket love.
