How'd it all turn out? 1) I accidentally started two new(ish) martial arts and am now going to four classes a week * My workplace was super accommodating and let me take an early lunch so I can attend aikido classes at 10 am. My old grad school is actually offering aikido as a class, so I'm "auditing." * That also means no more classes after May, but I guess I'll deal with it when I come to it? 2) Meditating one hour a day straight up cures my anxiety issues, but it's very hard to maintain. I usually end up putting it off until it's the very last thing to do in the day, and then I don't get as much sleep as I would prefer. I don't really know how to work that out. Like, ok, I can't really expect myself to work out every day, go to aikido 2x/week, tai chi 1x/week, and kyudo 1x/week AND meditate an hour a day. And volunteer at the meditation center. And, like, have friends and a relationship and a full-time job. So, yeah. Quote Link to comment
Kishi
Sounds like a gloriously challenging adventure and I hope you get it all sorted. Your meditation sounds like an example of the perfect practice that can't be maintained. But of course that doesn't mean that you don't do it at all, and I'm hopeful that you'll find a balance that suits you. 1 So! Good work. Glad to see that more martial arts are going on and that life was able to accommodate them. Sounds like a good step. Hope it continues to be!
