You are inspiring me to plan a clean up challenge soon... I hate clutter, in case you hadn't figured out my personality yet.

Did you go in with a plan for the month?

Our plan for january was figure out how we want to plan. That's not worked as well as expected, but we're definitely moving forward. So I think I'm going to start making my own plan and get Mrs G to go along with it.

And WTF is Toad in the Hole?

While that looks incredible, I'm not sure I understand why you need two slow cookers to prepare it...?

me neither... lol but if @Gemma says it is so, then I believe her

Sausages baked in Yorkshire Pudding. The British Isles, and most especially England, have a bit of a reputation for cookery that, um, doesn't often please the palate of the rest of the planet (well, Scotland too if you aren't a haggis fan). Toad in the Hole, if really well made, is alright - but if not really well made it is kinda bland and greasy. I need a sarcasm font.

Whilst I appreciate @CourtnieMarie's faith in me, it is not an actual requirement. In fact you can make it without a slow cooker at all, it's probably better in a skillet or the oven - but it can be done either way. If I had to pretend a serious passion for TitH to prove a need for extraneous appliances, I would have to pretend a serious-enough passion to make it alongside a proper pot roast or some other (tastier) slow-cookery magic.

Didn't mean to de-rail the conversation quite that badly. I forgot to add "be less smartassy" to my New Year's resolutions, so now it's going to have to wait until 2019. Le sigh.

That seems like it should be comparatively easy to fix though... start with a more spicy sausage, and toss garlic powder, or nutmeg, or lots of rosemary, or whatever else you can think of into the Yorkshire pudding?

Oh, I'm sure it could be made absolutely yummers, but in it's natural state it is one of the classic examples of why you see Italian restaurants and Mexican and Indian and Moroccan and all manner of ethnicities, but you are unlikely to see a "British food" place in America. It is generally along the order of spotted dick and jellied eels, fish-head pie, etc.

Disclaimer: While I am so horribly bashing some very classic British food, I actually rather like Bubble and Squeak. Also my British Isles = bad food stereotype specifically excludes Ireland.  Love me some boxties and colcannon!

I always thought that was because the risque names makes the food itself so difficult to market outside of college campuses...

Magnus Rushes In

BB Bench: 4x185x8. Woo! Finally back here. Next goal? 2 plates.

DB Incline Close Bench: 4x55x8. The last two reps were doozies. Enough so that I will not be moving up next time.

Dip: 7,7,6,6. Heavier weights on the previous exercises affected this, but at least I got all 4 sets in.

DB one Arm French Press: 3x32.5x8. These moved well enough I think I can go up to 35s next time.

BB Reverse Grip Skullcrusher: 70x8, 70x7, 70x5. Got some work to do here.

The Cut has gone weird. I'm definitely smaller, but I'm back up to 263. It's also very frustrating. I'm losing weight/fat from the outside in. I've gone down a whole shoe size, my neck looks more neck like and less like a side of beef, and I can see my veins in my forearms when I flex. Yet I'm still squishy in the middle parts. I know things are going in the right direction, it's just incredibly frustrating.

Taako's Good Out Here

I've got things, I'm not sure how ready i am to talk about them yet.

Abraca Fuck You

Guilted Mrs G into starting to clean as she's kinda been skimping out. That's definitely a thing.

teach me your ways because i'm definitely the cleaner/organizer....

my only thought process so far is if I just try to keep things clean eventually he'll start to be like "hey this is nice, maybe I should be cleaner too..." we talk about cleaning but it's been a very slow and painful process for me.

I cheated. When my parents came over we brought it up. It was definitely sneaky. I don't really feel bad.

We're both messy and both think we do more than the other one does... IT IS A CONSTANT STRUGGLE TO CONTINUE TO DO NOTHING. Any time I get started, I kind of fall down into the mental hole of "I'm going to have to do this....... forever. never ending... cleaning."

Excited you are noticing house/atmosphere improvements though.

Um. Does gymnastics give you psychic powers? Cause that exact thing has gone through my head since we started.

Wrap up!

Magnus rushed in and kicked ass, then ate all his gains. Good lord did the food thing fall apart. But the workouts are good. So...yayish?

Commonplace book is becoming more common. I've gotten some good use out of it, but I've also put some absolutely silly things in there. Which became more silly when I read them back instead of just letting those thought bounce around in my skull.

Cleaning is happening. Slowly. I'm actually really surprised it isn't going slower and how I'm already noticing imrpovements. Onward magnificent steed!
