farflight
I never shoulda left the mead hall in December. Went to visit wife unit's step mother for 8 days, their "gym" was lacking...I think all the plates combined totaled about 150 lbs and dumbells went to 30. Still got some time in. Got caught on the way home and was confined to someplace called Helgen...it was weird. Now everyone is calling me Dovahkiin or something and its just kinda weird. I swear, the other day I saw what could only have been a dragon, but that's crazy right? I live in Tennessee, not someplace called Tamriel or this Skyrim, honestly, that sounds more like a shot than a place...then last night some guy kept saying I had the look of a "battle mage" or something...things are getting strange... Might as well roll with it I figure. Talked around to some locals found out what this battle mage thing is. Apparently, its using magic (didn't think it even existed, but apparently I can call up things called atronauchs, kinda cool, now I need marshmallows) and melee. So brains and brawn, sounds up my alley, just need more of that brawn stuff...that armor I see people wearing looks heavy... Quests Heavy Armor -Continue stronglifts -Look into a couple training sessions for strict form work on all lifts Speech -Find a new author to start reading (have burned through malazan book of the fallen, WoT, all of sanderson, GoT, need something BIG and meaty like those series) -Work on haggling and open, frequent communication with friends and coworkers Breezehome -Put away all holiday crap -Make frequent donations to goodwill/salvation army to get things out of the home (apparently thanes aren't supposed to have cluttered dens) -Maintain home better, develop systems to help manage routines and incoming things -Set up auto payments for utility bills and garbage bills -Don't turn on the Switch for at least 45 minutes upon arrival home from work (actually DO something first) Cooking -Get rid of ingredients that aren't used (historical impulse buys that never get used) -Start meal planning for dinner during the week (breakfast is always a smoothie and lunch is leftovers plus apple, cheese, and yogurt) OOC: Back from winter (Christmas) break. Getting back into the routines of work and checking the boards/emails. Got a switch right before christmas and got skyrim (amongst some other games: Zelda BotW, Mario, Bomberman). Skyrim hasn't left the gamecard slot in about 2 weeks, never played it before (I know I know, it's like six years old...but I can play it on the toilet!) Glad to be back amongst brothers and sisters in arms! 2 Quote Fitbit username: farflight (would love to have more people on there) Getting life in order is a challenge worth doing. farflight
Quest update: Heavy Armor-got back on the horse this morning. Was terrified that "my" gym would be packed with resolutioners...there were 6 people in the whole gym...it was kinda nice. Deloaded weights about 10% since I essentially didn't lift anything heavy for 10+ days. Breezehome -Have gotten most of our new appliances installed. Dishwasher is the last one to get done, hoping to get that finished tonight with a friend. Little nervous about having to essentially origami-ing the copper hot water supply line, but trying to trust my friend (which is a challenge as we set towels on fire while installing the microwave) -Planning on cleaning before aforementioned friend comes over and put away all packing materials. Possibly drive up and unload fridge and stove/oven to salvation army No movement on other quests 1 Quote Fitbit username: farflight (would love to have more people on there) Getting life in order is a challenge worth doing. farflight
Heavy armor -pride/ego took a minor hit today as stronglifts recommended a 10% deload due to vacation time and not logging any 5x5 workouts (I did some lifting in florida, but nothing like SL). Got all reps, and form was back the way it should at the lighter weights -Forgot to ask about new year deals in regards to trainer sessions Speech -No movement whatsoever in finding a new series to start. -Had a great social weekend, was only home about 4 hours (outside of sleeping times) Breezehome -Wife unit wants to "keep christmas up so I can see it," no no decrapping till the weekend (part of the problem with being out of town from 12/25 - 1/1, will plan better this year) -Got most of the crap picked up from the new kitchen appliance installations, just have to get rid of the burned up towels in the garage -Got a lot of old stuff out to salvation army -Got 5 loads of laundry done and folded and EVEN PUT AWAY bitches -Delayed switch gaming at least an hour each day over the weekend. Wondering if Skyrim is going to live in the system permanently. I kinda want to see Zelda BotW, Bomberman some, but....skyrim...dragons......If anyone else has a switch, my friend code is: SW-5249-7558-4394 (I think) Cooking -Haven't started cleaning out spices/tools yet, might try that some tonight -One "meal plan" is that tonight Imma cook 8lbs of pork shoulder, carnitas style. Other plan for a couple weeks from now is steaks (got a 9 lb beef tenderloin for $54 the other day, need to cut that up tonight into steaks (any recommendation on thickness?)) 1 Quote Fitbit username: farflight (would love to have more people on there) Getting life in order is a challenge worth doing. Not sure if you've played Morrowwind, but fun story: The last boss fight is against a super large franskenstein-ish monster... somehow while I was running away finding a better tactical position, he fell in a big hole and I could just walk around beating him in the head with a large sword... That particular one has depth because it's the third in a series that has been on PC since the mid-1990s, which means that by the time Bethesda released Morrowind, they had spent nearly a decade developing the setting where the story takes place. And the best part of the ES games is modding them, which the crippled console versions keep failing to allow. 1 Quote The Great Reading Thread of 2023 “I've always believed that failure is non-existent. Deckard Gainz
Hey if it makes you feel any better, I also just picked up Skyrim for the first time like 2 weeks ago. I basically just sneak around and pick people off with arrows, so I need to find that tome! I also love just popping on there every now and then and bombing around the massive landscape until a dragon starts bothering me. Actually all I do is travel from town to town and make money. I have like 70,000 gold but I feel like I have a million quests to do... can't I just hire someone to go do them for me? 1 Quote Stay awhile... we're liftin' Link to comment

I like the leveling system as you level by what you use. Kinda "reveals" your playstyle. If I ever get tired of the conjurations, I might roll a thief or something else, not too terribly excited about sneaking around the whole time. Deckard Gainz
That sounds like quite the haul for kitchen goodies. No wonder you had a bunch of cleaning up to do! Samsung is generally pretty good so hopefully they all work well for you. I also have never played before picking it up a couple weeks ago. I usually go for caster/mage type characters, but at the beginning of the game I really liked creeping around and plugging unassuming baddies with arrows, so I just kept playing like that and now I can take out entire caves without ever being detected! I think that's the most fun I have in the game. In one cave, I had to get to this smuggler guy through a huge long cave of enemies. I snuck past a bunch of baddies, jumped in the water and let the current take me all the way to the end, knocked out a few baddies in aggro range, and finished the quest basically skipping the entire dungeon. Dragons can still sniff me out no matter what I do though, so the playstyle kind of sucks for that. I'm grateful to have a mercenary companion that can tank hits while I shoot arrow after arrow, because it takes forever without the stealth bonuses. It's also bad for the magic enemies that flit and flutter all over the place and are practically impossible to shoot. That's why I just roll through townspeople and pick all their pockets and sell it all to my fences. Quote Stay awhile... we're liftin' Link to comment

farflight
Decent day yesterday...good lifts, good work...good dinner Got home a little later than expected. Wife unit had no car so had to pick her up from work and hit grocery on way home...so expensive with her there... Ended up having to buy all ingredients cause I've got nothing thawed (except that big pork roast). Ended up making: Black bean penne with: sauteed shrimp, onion, red peppers, garlic, portobella, corn, thyme, salt, pepper, paprika 30 minutes and BOOM! No lifting today. Got a walk in last night. Was in bed by 1040. For some reason, I cannot seem to wake up on time Thursdays. I don't sleep in any other day of the week and I don't seem to crash on any of my lifting days...it's a conundrum 3 Quote Fitbit username: farflight (would love to have more people on there) Getting life in order is a challenge worth doing.
