RedStone
Okeee today was another busy-ish one. It's been a lot of up and down with the weather, and has been especially good for hanging with coworkers during the downs. I'm actually really enjoying how much we've been connecting as a team, and now that I'm faced with some long term decisions going forward, really appreciating the community I have at my current job. (I guess I haven't talked about all that here yet... more in spoiler) Today was back day, warmed up with typical T&F mish and then KB complexes for some HIIT. Moved on to some reasonably heavy stuff despite laying off the big 3. I was pretty tired most of the week... but at least I don't have zombie brain like last week! Tracking is good so far but still early on, and will be tricky to keep up this weekend, but I will. I said so here, and so I must. Challenge-wise, I got the keyboard thing that I ordered and it seems like it's go to work, booked the hotel for the weekend, started using the spreadsheet version of the MOON POWER chart that @Taddea Zhaan made for me I did not do it in the new bujo, but I'm going to count it since the data is what matters in this case. I also went into town but the gift shop was closed. I will go tomorrow along with doing other errands before going away for the weekend. I'm a little concerned about losing this very short but successful streak I've got going on. What do you guys like to do to mentally prepare for staying on track while travling and such? My main plan atm is to stick to whole foods while eating out, as it'll be easier to track and keep me away from hidden cals and all that junk Spoiler So... I was recently offered some work opportunities that I think are probably in breech of my current non-compete agreement. As the offer stands, it's not worth leaving for, but on the other hand, the work is more educational, more gratifying, and could lead to bigger full time things. On the other, other hand, the environment is not as social, and social is something I very much need. I know, I know. Not your typical introvert nerd, but I'm quite the opposite. Over the years I've found myself desperately trying to supplement my less social jobs with other social outlets. I'm waiting to hear counters from the party involved, but yeah, I really like that I spend most of my day socializing and I don't want that to stop. /end rant 9 Quote ~Peace Be The Journey~ one - two - three - four - five - six - seven- eight - nine - ten - eleven - twelve - thirteen - fourteen - fifteen - sixteen - seventeen - eighteen - nineteen - twenty - twenty one - twenty two - twenty three - twenty four - twenty five - twenty six - twenty seven - twenty eight - twenty nine - thirty - thirty one - thirty two - thirty three - thirty four - thirty five - thirty six Link to comment

I think you might need to enter some kind of baseline strength level on days you don't workout or it looks like some days you have zero oooomph. Just in my opnion the data might make more sense if you estimate your level of ooomph (strength) on non-lifting days. It would be the same as if I left off my weight/calories for day so it would make my chart look like I was so fresh and so lean lean. OR we can do it as a dot graph, so there aren't lines, it just plots each point as a an individual dot, so you don't have to worry about missing data. This would be the scatter chart option and might make more sense. When you see this message PM me and I can show you a screen shot of what that would do. 4 1 Quote Jǫrð, Delvian Nomad - Level 12 { Battle Log } Link to comment

Also I verbally commit to workouts if I am going to be doing them (and sometimes tap into moral superiority energy to actually go when I said I would even if no one else wants to come with me. ) I think CM's point about having good food ready to go when you get back is a REALLY GOOD ONE and something I never really thought about before -- and I totally hate the "well I just got home from a trip and have no freaking groceries so I guess we're gonna order food" feeling, so it's something I'll consider in the future. All the veggies!!! Now I just have to remember in the heat of the moment... (Is it weird to show up to a 40th birthday party with the word "VEGGIES" scrawled out on my forearm in sharpie??) So far as workouts go I did my 3 lifts ahead of time, so that's good. The only specific thing is to do my 15 mins of forms, should be today or tomorrow... today more likely, after the drive! (Unless I'm so freakin pooped by the time we get to wherever the hell we're staying tonight ) So that's the best I'll give. Hotel forms tonight or tomorrow. And a 30% commitment to do another 15 minutes when we get home Sunday night... >.> I would also like to get in some walking tomorrow since so much of this weekend is going to be in the car. I think this is very doable, but also kind of depends on how far we make it tonight and when we leave tomorrow AKA how far we have to go and how much free time we'll have before meeting up with peeps. Not a huge deal breaker, but something to consider. I will wear my smart watch to remind myself of this general interest, and I assume Mr Red will want to stretch his legs after all the driving as well. (Precautionary... light rain predicted. I'm packing a chic slicker and rain hat.) Plans for dinner tonight (before hitting the road) are set, and an easy plan for Sunday night dinner and batch cook as well. Thank goodness for slow cookers! Laundry is done, hair is dyed and nearly dried, errands commencing shortly after that. My main plan atm is to stick to whole foods while eating out, as it'll be easier to track and keep me away from hidden cals and all that junk I can't eat out because of too many dietary restrictions, so that removes a lot of temptations :P. Before the latest iteration of those ruled out nuts, though, I still had to resist a lot of technically okay approved snack foods like Nakd bars (similar to Lara bars) and cashew butter, which are fine as treats, but a bit too calorific (and, in the case of the former) sugary to be the basis of my diet... These days I take a cooler with me and make sure I have access to a fridge and microwave where I'm staying (e.g., an airbnb). Conferences often have accommodation at dorms, which is also helpful since they have communal kitchens. One of my tricks is taking a tub of frozen chicken with me - since it's frozen, I trust that it will still be good by the end of the trip (which helps thaw it), and it also acts as a cooler pack for the rest of the food :). Usually I'll take some pre-cooked veggies with me too, but I also like salad stuff (either brought with or bought at the end) because it's super easy to prep - especially if I pre-make some salad dressing beforehand. I also make sure to bring some easy protein with me, like goat cheese or tins of tuna or mackerel (the latter in particular is useful since it doesn't require refrigeration!). I feel silly taking a large suitcase with me for a weekend trip (with a cooler taking up half the case), but it works :P. Also, best of luck with the job decisions! Sounds like both scenarios have something unique to offer. Could it be helpful to clarify the non-compete clause for your current job and see if there is any wiggle-room there (as long as they wouldn't be threatened by your asking)? 3 Quote -:- THE LIONESS -:- Challenge 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 2.5, 2.6, 2.7, 2.8, 2.9, 2.10, 2.11, 2.12 Link to comment

Colored hairs look so good with black clothes. I'm so tempted... Black hair too tho... I did the blue black for 5 or 6 years! I had something kinda similar, but so long ago. In high school I did all the colors, it was the manic panic days, then it started breaking in half from being in the pool in college like 2 hours a day (diving team) so I shaved my head and started fresh. After that I didn't color my hair at all until the greys took on a critical mass.... right around 30 y/o now it's just maintenance. 2 hours ago, Alanna said: They make duffels WITH coolers and hot plates built in?! *goes in search of one* IKR? Yeah... that's the tricky thing. They doesn't even do one on ones, it's specific programs per person, but small groups at a time. During off hours it's literally empty becase it's by appointment only, do like, when I go to work out I'd be all alone. I don't like that. I get off on walking down the halls and smiling at everyone and knowing everyone's name. I finally feel like I'm part of something and don't want that to go away... 1 hour ago, CourtnieMarie said: I more wanted a pic of you in a cute slicker and rain hat hahahaha <3 AAAAAAAH well that I can arrange! I like my fitbit charge HR - I got it because I wanted something small and didn't want my phone notifications to follow me everywhere on my wrist. Depends on what you want in a tracker, though. Let me know what he says! I didn't manage to find a good search term - what I found was cooler luggage (e.g., cooler backpacks - including a wine cooler backpack, which is apparently a thing...) Sounds like you are really happen at your current job :). Thinking in reverse now - is there any way to change this job instead to incorporate what you're missing (the educational aspect?) or get that fix another way? 2 Quote -:- THE LIONESS -:- Challenge 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 2.5, 2.6, 2.7, 2.8, 2.9, 2.10, 2.11, 2.12 Link to comment

RedStone
Home home home home!!! So happy to be home! It was a lovely weekend, but a ton of car time. I did pretty good/fair on the foods front, the worst being gas station snacks in the car, but even that wasn't too bad. There was birthday cake on Saturday, and it was awesome, and while I generally made good choices, I did not track, nor did I do my forms because the schedule didn't allow. I do plan on doing my forms this evening. I did write my class up in the car, pretty much, tho it's going to run over an hour the way I have it so I need to pare it down a touch tonight. Already got my salsa chicken in the crockpot so I can break it up into tupps tonight, and the chicken and broccoli rabe are ready for whenever we're hungry. _____ Otherwise... I guess I kinda need some goals for this challenge, huh. I'm going to take this time to sort of talk it out... updating here has been almost as effective as journalling was last challenge, so maybe that'll be part of it. One of the things I really feel is important is to get my art practice regular again. I def want to have one set painting session per week, but I also want some smaller, more regular practice. I'm thinking about doing like a 5 minute morning thing with a sketchbook and brush marker, practice traditional brush strokes during coffee. I want this to be sort of the theme for the month's worth of art work... repeated movement on the large scale, repeated shapes on the small scale. Okay. Morning shapes. 4X per week. Painting session 1X. Good. That's sorted. Then... tracking food. I need to get back to this habit. Track my food. Just... get back to this habit. I dunno if I want to make it more specific than that. Weekends, especially away, may be an issue. Going out happens more often than it used to, which is awesome, but then tracking (or even worse... baaaad behavior) happens. Or doesn't happen. Not in the order. Whatever. You're smart. You get it But apparently, me? Not so much. Thoughts? Training is fine. I have a schedule, but trying to get extra data from my MOON POWER chart for future programming. I need to add a few modules but keep using it.... sooooo.... use the MOON POWER chart? Use the MOON POWER chart Got it. Everything else? Just, I dunno, keep going. All is well. I guess I'd like to do some forms too. Really I want to touch hands with people... but it's waaaay too soon to talk about that. Forms. 10 minutes here and there. I'd like to make music a bigger priority in my routine. I have a new group of guys I'm messing around with, and we're talking about starting a new band project. I'd mostly be playing drums, some guitar and vocals. I have been playing more often, no new stuff, and I should be practicing drums a LOT more because it's been forever since I played percussion with a band. But I dunno. Is this too much to add to this challenge? Art feels like a priority and I don't want to overload. Just food for thought. Maybe once art is back in the routine music will give it more of a chance. I'm still working to get my clothing game back on point. Tee shirt drawer is cleaned, but I still have to do the closet. Honestly... I could let go more of the shorts too I'm starting to think that I should organize my clothing by need... I normally do it by weight (tees, tanks, long sleeve, sweater etc....) but maybe I'll do work, working out, going out with the boys, date night, formal events.... I dunno. Buying some nice new clothes would be a good incentive... Anyone have good storage systems like that?? OKAY! Moving on. I have just a few little jams to deal with. One shot type things. - Schedule appointment with a new internist/physical (I already have a group in mind. Just need to make that phone call ) - WTF hapenned to the therapist I spoke with last week??? Connect one way or another. I sent over sensitive documents and haven't heard back! NOT COOL Ummm I dunno. That's about it for now. okay bye 9 Quote ~Peace Be The Journey~ one - two - three - four - five - six - seven- eight - nine - ten - eleven - twelve - thirteen - fourteen - fifteen - sixteen - seventeen - eighteen - nineteen - twenty - twenty one - twenty two - twenty three - twenty four - twenty five - twenty six - twenty seven - twenty eight - twenty nine - thirty - thirty one - thirty two - thirty three - thirty four - thirty five - thirty six Link to comment
