So glad to hear the swing in the upward!   (I've got a bit of that going today for myself)    All that food sounds so delicious- it makes me want to try some new things.   I think I will this week!

I've been a little under the weather the last few days, really just low energy, iffy stomach hole face, achy joints. I don't feel full blown sick, but a lot of people at work have been out with the flu, and I wouldn't be surprised if I maybe have little some what?

 

Then again, I've been sort of locked in due to weather, so maybe I'm just stiff and bored from sitting around not doing much of anything :P And maybe kinda down cause it's always grey out when it should be spring soon -_- 

 

I had a half day at work today and could have left at 1:30... but instead I stayed and worked out. And like... REALLY took my time, then I hung out in the cafe for several more hours LOL I realized towards the end of that, that I was afraid that as soon as I left, and got home, that I'd be stuck at home in more snow for another day hoping that the power doesn't go out. 

 

It's days like these that I'm glad I redecorated the Christmas Tree into a 6 More Weeks of Winter tree. Twinkly lights make me feel warm and give me hope for Spring.

We are gaining at least 3 minutes of day time per day as well! So that is definitely some springtime action. :)

I have a fat robin in my tree. 

 

And yesterday I heard the cantankerous call of the cranes over head. 

I looked up and saw their discombobulated flock swirling in the skies above but heading more or less north.

Not my pic, but illustrates their messed up flocking style!  LOL.

 

 

Forget Phil the groundhog, these birds are the real deal and it means good things are coming.  Good things.

Yeah... I know it's coming soon. I don't mean to be all doom and gloom, and I'm feeling much better about all of it, at least better than yesterday when I think I hit my rock bottom of existential crisis as end of days draws near... but I'm tired of being dramatic lol and I think it's probable that I was just hungry at the time.

 

We did lose power, but not for very long. Just long enough for Mr Red to beat me at scrabble like he always does when we keep score, which is why we rarely keep score :P I made borscht (dad's b-day tomorrow and he's visiting!) and also cookies which were pretty damn great. I also started using my new anatomy coloring book, which I think will be a corner stone of the next challenge! Last, I kind of tweaked my wrist on Monday from power cleans and its still bugging me. Taking it a little easy on it this week. Will be keeping an eye on it..

 

But seriously. Enough with the snow pls. May next Monday's forecast be wrong...

Oh shoot! Almost forgot! I also finished cleaning the office during snow day, so not a total lazy bust! Plenty of room to grow too. Here's the dramatic reveal:

It does feel good to have that space sorted! And a new mess has materialized in the basement now that i'll have to sort... once again... to get that room working again. AH it never ends! -_- But a friend brought over a heavy bag that come from another friend who was moving... so... free bag! Yay! And it's in really good shape :D Just need to rearrange a little and put together the stand.

AND SO THE CHALLENGE ENDS. and a new one begins. So lets take a look at the goals I pretty much forgot about:

 

MAKE ART 3X per week

I got the new situation set up and I am STOKED. 3X sessions a week. Post picts for accountability.

I've been making stuff I guess, it's not super organized, and isn't super in the forefront. I got a new anatomy coloring book, and that's been sort of my main interests. I'd like to go to some figure drawing sessions, I think there are some in my town. TBC in next challenge.

 

JOURNAL 3X per week

I really enjoyed journaling last time, and want to bring it up a touch and start talking out this art project. I want at least one long hand journal entry, using this beautiful sketchbook my first students gave me a long time ago and I've been holding on to instead of using for too long for way too long. 

I did some of this, but feel like keeping up with my challenges here kind of does the same thing. My journal/sketchbook in general is always with me. I draw things, write things, all the things. I wouldn't mind incorporating more poetry next go.

 

DRINK 5X per week

Water... water... I need.... water. 2 of my shakers per day.

I sucked at this and need to drink better.

 

DON'T WEIGH meanie beanies 

I'm well past the point where numbers are useful. I can use the tape, but if I'm getting on the scale, it's no more than once per week, Wednesday be thy name. If I weigh myself I have to award myself meanie beanies.

I did good here. This is one of the few things that this challenge was really tremendous for. I've been exploring intuitive eating and applying some of it, and I haven't had a single episode since. Not one, and this is kind of awesome. I've stayed away from the scale, but I still check myself out in the mirror. Sometimes I feel a little bloated, most of the time I feel good. I've been drinking a lot of wine, as usual, and that seems to be the most negative element of my intake. I don't know what the next step is going to be, but it's a gentle process and I don't want to be aggressive with goals. More deets below...

 

ONE TIME DEALS

Make appointment for a physical

I didn't. I have the doctor's office I want to use... I just have to call -_- 

 

Find another therapist in my network, make a call

I think I'm going to try an online option. I'm looking for therapists that specialize in intuitive eating and there's nothing convenient here. I like the idea of online work anyway, it feels very safe emotionally and, well, it's convenient. The future is kinda awesome sometimes :D

<3 So excellent. My friend loves his online therapist. It definitely seems like an exciting new option.
