The battle of Blocky versus the Royal Jelly raged for close to an hour. With every successful hit landed by Blocky, the Royal Jelly summoned more and more of it's hideous blobby allies. With his health running out, Blocky takes a chance and starts reading random scrolls from his pack. The first scroll looks promising, Blocky reads it aloud and feels something is happening... however the only result is a bunch of butterflies appear. Pulling another scroll, Blocky recites the meaningless gibberish... and then Kaboom! Every single minion, the Royal Jelly and unfortunately Blocky explode into flames. As the flames die down, all that can be seen is mangled bits of blobs and a badly scorched Blocky, protected from the flames by virtue of being made from stone...

 

Those poor butterflies - summoned into a slime covered dungeon only to be incinerated a few second later!

Blocky's Dungeon Crawl - Mega Update

Week 3, Day 4&5  +  Week 4, Day 1:

 

After taking the magical rune from the gooey remains of the Royal Jelly, Blocky takes some time to heal up and then makes his way to his next destination - the Vaults. He has to fight his way through many levels, facing new and deadly enemies. The Vaults are home to many human soldiers, armed with some very nice and very sharp weapons. By the time Blocky gets to the staircase leading to the final level of the Vaults, he is armed with a very nice vampiric long sword which provides healing every time it inflicts wounds and also a nice sparkly platemail of fire resistance. Readying his weapons, Blocky descends the stairs only to find himself caught in an ambush!

Friday 23/2

Heavy Stuff:

Block Pull - New 1 RM at 202.5kg (also a blood pressure PR - I had to sit down or fall down)

Box Squat: 170kg x 1, then 3 x 5 at 120kg

 

Assistance:

Straight leg DLs: 4 x 8 at 92.5kg

Leg Press: 3 x 12 at 130kg

Back ext: 3 x 12

 

Saturday 24/2

Heavy Stuff:

Pause Bench: New 3 RM at 105kg and also new 1 RM at 115kg

Comp Bench: 3 x 5 at 90kg

 

Assistance:

DB Bench, Cable rows, Pushups and pullups, Tri's and curls

 

Monday 26/2

Heavy Stuff:

Box Squat vs reverse bands (+20kg at top): 170kg (+20kg bands) x 1 (I cut this short due to a twinge in the adductor and realised later that I was only 7.5kg off a new 1 RM)

Comp Squats: 100kg x 5, 5 (adductor is still getting used to this again soI cut it at 2 sets)

Comp Deadlifts: 140kg x 5 (same again - adductor doesn't like this much)

 

Assistance:

Narrow stance Box Squats: 4 x 8 at 80kg

Suspended Good mornings: 3 x 8 at 60kg + 1 x 5 at 80kg (This is a new movement for me and it sure fired up the erectors)

Leg Press: 3 x 12 at 140kg

Back extensions: 3 x 12

 

Food and Supps:

Had some amazing food over the weekend - Giant turkey legs and BBQ and so on....

 

Everything else:

Had our last russian lesson for 4 weeks (our tutor is away on holiday) - so Mrs Blocky bought some new folders and flashcards and we are going to buckle down and do some actual study over the next month.

Normally it would be suspended by chains in the bottom position, but due to no chains, I just had it resting on the pins. The point of it is to minimise the eccentric portion (which is generally where lower backs get F-ed up during good mornings) and start the movement in a difficult position. I can really see this movement helping with forward lean in the squat.

Deadstop good mornings? I like it. Gonna have to incorporate it into my programming.
