Glycogen deleption?

Recommended Posts

Hello

I just wanted to ask if anyone knows what is causing the following symptoms

waking up lightheaded every day, shaking, sweating, nausea, excessive weakness

is this a sign of glycogen deleption if so how do I replenish these stores?

thank you

It sounds like you are significantly under eating and need to eat more.  Those symptoms might pop up if you're first starting a calorie deficit, but should go away pretty rapidly.  If they aren't, eat more, and if they keep happening longer then 3-5 days after you've increased your food you need to see a doctor.

(Also glycogen is literally just extra stored energy in the form of a carbohydrate skeleton.  Eating carbs replenishes that storage pretty quickly.)

Thank you so much for your reply

As far as I can remember this happened after exercise, these symptoms are all symptoms of hypoglycemia, I've been tested for hypoglycemia but I don't have this thankfully.

I'm suffering from severe muscle weakness too. This has been going on for a month :(

If you've been eating more and are still experiencing these, you really, really need to go to the doctor and get it checked out.  I'd bet it's you aren't eating enough, but I am not a doctor and my advice is bunk.
