Strength Training Tips for Budding, Out of Shape, Muay Thai Beginner

Recommended Posts

Hello! I've just started Muay Thai, a few weeks ago. I was wondering if I could have some tips on strength training, mainly bodyweight stuff? This would be for striking power, but I also would like to just be a stronger person, in general.

Help me, Strength-trainers Kenobi, etc., and so forth.

The biggest bang-for-your-buck training would be more Muay Thai. Then maybe some pull-ups.

Got it. That's surprising to me. I thought there would be a lot of "extracurricular" conditioning.

When you are new, regular muay thai training is more conditioning than you are used to.  When you have been doing it for years, you -may- need some extra work elsewhere.  But for right now, train more muay thai!  If you do want to add something on top of training, pull ups as Machete mentioned, and kettlebells are good too.
