thanks.  My sub gave them the test to do as homework.  Surprisingly no one bring it back and I had to give them the test again.  I don't know what they actually did in class. One of my big fears is that someone will fall out the window.  I'm on the fourth floor and it would make the news.  My biggest goal as a teacher is to stay out of the news.

Let's see...

Saturday & Sunday: I Shovelgloved; I didn't have a heart attack which was nice I guess.  20 minutes worth plus I threw in some clean & presses.  Since my willingness to put in the work has been compromised, I'm only going to do the things I like until I pull my head out of my ass and can grind again.

Monday: No training, recovery day.

Saturday - It was St. Patrick's Day.  We went to a friend's for "family" tea.  It's a holiday event thrown by a friend without kids, who happens to love kids.  She's adopted all of her friend's children as an unofficial aunt.  I normally skip it because hermit, but I wanted to be a good role model for Slothgirl.  We both read in the corner, I eventually fell asleep on her couch.  I ate a bunch of stuff that isn't slothbelly compliant, but not on purpose.  I should learn to google ingredients before tucking in.

Sunday - we went to see OMD with college bestie and college girlfriend.  As an aside, my biggest regret in life is that I was such an asshole to them in my early 20s.  The show was really good.  I expected it to be mostly ladies of a certain age, but the show was full of old dudes.  Mrs. Sloth got a bit tipsy. On the way to the train we saw the lead singer getting dropped off at a swanky hotel.  Mrs. Sloth shouted, "Hey, that's him!" and he ducked down and scurried into the hotel.  At the train station we saw one of my former students freestyle rapping for change.  He saw me, smiled, gave me the head nod, and turned it up a notch.  Mrs. Sloth started gushing over him (he must be 19 now) "He's so cute!"  "That's an adorable rap!"  He also scurried off.

Monday - two beers and little sleep wiped me out all day.  After a pharmacy mix up I finally started my meds.  My brain still seems broken.

ETA: That last sentence sounds more despondent than I feel.  Today is the first day in a long time that I'm not ending the day with a throbbing headache.  Stress must be diminished.

I am in that boat with ya. This is the one thing that bugs me about getting older. It used to be so simple, just eat it and you'll be fine. Younger me used to be able to withstand quite the beating. Now we need to question every last thing anyone else makes. Apparently, I shouldn't have beat up on younger me so much, because older me is having to pay the price. Sigh.

I thought this said gift and then I got into reading loads into you not bequeathing anything to TML in the event you didn’t survive your cycle ride, despite his standing offer for his protein powder if it causes marital disharmony, and other such rabbit holes.  The reality was quite disappointing after all that.

Anyway, I’m all caught up now so I’ll just chime in with more good wishes.

3/21/18. Wednesday

My Brain seems to be mending itself together. Another day without a headache even though we made tin foil kazoos.  I’m starting to smile again.  I’m also back on coffee and doughnuts. My teammate said I was happier when I had coffee in my system and I’m prioritizing my brain over my belly. So maybe it isn’t the meds.

Weird side effect, I normally don’t have much of a sense of smell, but now I’m smelling all the things. Being able to smell isn’t such a good thing for a middle school teacher.

The girls are going to a school play tonight.  Slothboy and I are baching it. We’re going to have dinner at Five Guys. It’s happened twice in a row now.  I guess it’s our thing. I like that we have a thing.

We tapped our maple tree.  I wasn’t going to because next week will be really busy. We already missed a week of sap.  But Slothboy went on field trip where they tapped a tree and ate maple sugar and got everyone excited about it.

My slothbelly isnt appreciating the new breakfast routine...  it’s kept me from my morning training. I didn’t do anything yesterday. Will attempt to Shovelglove and kettlebell when I finally get home. I’ll let you know if it happens.

Sorry, lost in translation. When we say "siestog", like we feel a little bit sorry for you, while trying not to smile, with a friendly pat on the back.
So trying not to laugh at/with your wife's reactions (enjoyment of her night, I'm really happy she had a good night out :) ), while happy for you for the acknowledgement from a previous student, but a little bit sad because you seemed to convey a little bit of "oh my word" feelings about your wife's reactions?
