Hello visitor.

For those who don't know me, mandatory background info:

Spoiler

My name is Siferiax, or Sif, or Siffy, or... be creative!

I'm a female and 30 years old. I have a boyfriend and two cats.

I'm working within the limitations of autism & hypermobility (the moment flexibility SUCKS)

I love road cycling and spinning. I also love walking.

I unfortunately have quite a road cycling trauma I have to get over at the start of every season.

I made a false start with a walking goal last year. The idea was to walk every single weekend for the entire year.

Hypermobility basically ruined it and it ended up with me unable to walk for more than 30 min.

I got shoe soles and special physical therapy and I'm happy to be able to say I CAN walk again.

Unfortunately my problems with cycling haven't been resolved yet. I'm still working with specialists to get it resolved. Right now I do spinning for at least 20 minutes. Sometimes it goes well and I go for longer and sometimes it doesn't.

I have been doing more spinning though. Right now I'm trying for Tuesday, Thursday and once on a weekend day.

As for diet I'm currently focusing on Intermittent Fasting (IF) and no snacking. I'm otherwise eating whatever I want.

This has to do with my mental health in part and my sanity as another part. I'm a very picky eater and I dislike a lot of common foods. And ESPECIALLY I can't take anything spicy/hot/sharp/whatever you wanna call it. And with anything I mean not even in the slightest. Which is a challenge all it's own.

Here are my goals this challenge. I'm doing a bare minimum because I've just been "done/tired" with everything lately.

My mental health is not quite up there, so I take it easy for a bit.

#1 No Snacking

- No snacking on weekdays
- A snack is anything not part of a meal (max 3 meals a day)
- Fruit and nuts are not counted
- A deep fried cafeteria snack is still a snack, even if it's eaten with lunch

#2 Intermittent Fasting

- Every day for at least 15 hours (up 1 hour from last challenge)

#3 Cardio

- 3x a week
- Walking / Cycling / Spinning
- At least 5 km or 20 min

I've decided to do my fitness goal slightly different, mostly more relaxed and have me stressing a lot less.

The important thing is that I do exercise 3x a week, doesn't matter whether that is on a bike or on my own feet.

IF is gonna be challenging again. Last challenge I did manage 100% at 14 hours though, so I'm feeling confident!

That's all there is to it. I generally use this thread to journal. I also post challenge updates reguraly.

This challenge I will use Track your fast and Habit Bull for tracking. This in place of my handy spreadsheet.

I have been loving Intermittent fasting. I have done it off and on in the past. It makes me more aware of when I am actually hungry, and not just my brain trying to get me to eat something because it is there. Good luck this challenge!
I'm loving IF too. Mostly to train myself that I can actually go without food. That I don't need it all the time. Plus it seems that I'm slimming down, not losing weight though lol.
Thanks!

So far...

5254955ab38c6aa7d361b40d5a093537.jpg

I had a stressful day Monday and they had put Easter eggs around the workshop room... So those "mysteriously" disappeared...

Fasting is tough, but I'm managing. I mostly need to force feed myself more lol. I ate too little yesterday and now I'm already hungry at 7:45 and I need to go till 10:05...
I'm really loving the tracking app though. With the pro version I can set a goal number of hours and it will send a notification when I made it. So I don't have to watch the time.

Tuesday I did spinning again. Total of 58 minutes.
Lesson of 44 minutes, but then experimented for my foot for another 14 with my BF.
My spinning shoes are now with the specialist, who's going to try to make them bigger. Which would mean not needing to buy new ones.
So keeping my fingers crossed it won't destroy my shoes ^^;

Snacking is still probably my biggest challenge. I just love sweet things XD

Thrusday 15 March

IF is still on track. I notice it is especially hard on my way to work, but when at work and getting busy, the last stretch is fairly easy.

Snacking failed again. Damn those Easter eggs!

No cardio as I had to adult. Friday night I'll be getting spinning shoes at my parents and then will exercise there.

In the evening I had a big plate of food. It was super delicious!
I refrained from dessert. As it's started to prevail that we have something like a piece of chocolate after dinner, and I don't want to be reliant on that.
(It's a good exercise in saying no to yummies XD)

Friday 16 March
No snacking done!
IF completed.
44 min of spinning.
Tried dad's shoes. Seemed alright, but at parents I always cycle low intensity due to the equipment.
But! We made an appointment for the end of this month to go check out other equipment!

Saturday 17 March
IF completed.
Mostly a day for laundry and resting.
I really needed it.

Sunday 18 March
IF not completed. I had a bit of an issue. I did fast for 14.5 hours. Except I had a time constraint and didn't want to go spinning on an empty stomach. Also my BF's cappuccino is something I rather not skip. We had to leave home at 9:30 due to BF having another appointment. And he would drop me off at the gym along the way.
So instead of holding out till 9:30 and 15 hours. Yep. Noms!

46 minutes of spinning!
Did a pretty heavy lesson. (Someone else picked it) And OMG! I was at the end of my endurance and strength instead of my foot!! I gave it my all this session and my foot cooperated! This hasn't happened in so long ;-;
It wasn't completely gone, but didn't get in the way either.
I do have a theory my ankle is involved, so I'm gonna see about some ankle mobility exercises.
That ankle is a nuisance anyway, so it might be good regardless.

Carbonara take away dinner?!? How cool!!!
Actually hot lol.
Couldn't get through all of it just now. Pfff.
But it was yummy and perfect for my BF being away.
Better than getting french fries anyway.
I like how the station is getting more food options.

The other food place my BF had recommended was a bit of a let down though. Literally everything was pre-made with something I didn't like as an ingredient!! Mostly tomatoes. Because everything needs tomatoes -grumble-
I know I'm picky, but mostly I'm just picky about the common ingredients...

Honestly, my IF is not a strict IF--I have my morning coffee, which will usually include milk because my stomach rebels if I try to drink it black.  ...There is sometimes a tiny bit of sugar if I end up drinking it iced.  But 90% compliance is better than 0% compliance!  30 mins earlier isn't too far off in the scheme of things.  You're doing great, Sif!  :D

Thank you!!

And yeah I'm not even angry about it either. I've realized that 100% compliance with anything strict will not work. This challenge all my pass grades are at 75%. So it doesn't bother me as much and so I choose the yummy option ;)

I think I want to be compliant to at least 14 hours as I've proven to myself that it's super doable.
So like aim for 16 (not this challenge but later), but accept 14 when there's an interference.

Tuesday 20 March
Just realized I forgot to post yesterday...
So...
No snacking: there was a chocolate bar involved here.
IF: done.
Cardio: I did do spinning. But I felt horrible and had to quit. Better for my well being.

I felt terrible this day, ended up in bed at 20:00.

Wednesday 21 March
No snacking: yep
IF: nope, I was just so hungry I settled for 14 hours. This challenge is a test run for 15 so it's ok.
Cardio: done yesterday.

Felt less horrible, but still not good. Period kicked in which is not helping.
BF came home in the evening and I totally cried my eyes out. And I was all kinds of annoyed because I was so tired. He's kind of a jokey type and sometimes I just can't handle that. This was one of those times. So he adjusted and comforted me. It was nice.

****

And I didn't get enough sleep last night AGAIN!
So I'm gonna see if I can take tomorrow off work and recharge.
Before weekend sets in with all its household chores. (Mainly laundry)

All my habits did not happen yesterday, so we shall not further talk about the nightmare that was Thursday.

Right now I'm feeling pretty good.
Slept in till 8:30 (2 hours more than normal)
Then didn't really get up and about until 10:00.

I'm now dressed, I've eaten after a 15 hour fast and I'm ready to do some things in regards to being off work and able to do them. It is also 11:15 now.

Just gotta wait for laundry to finish and then I can get going.
I'm taking this all slow and relaxed today ^^

My weekend was weird.
IF and cardio didn't happen.
I hate switching to daylight saving time. It messes with my head.
Also D&D in the middle of the day was weird. Usually we play 16:00~22:00.
Now it was more like 12:00~17:00.

Anyway. New week new chances.
