Becoming a member of the League, The Justice League!

The Age of Heroes

Wonder Woman has made it through the first test (Muddy Princess OCR), and is now facing the next (Waterra - Heroes in Training). She has joined the Justice League to fight against an Earth destroying evil (Darkseid) that might just break her spirit and mind. His parademons are non too bright, but they are already here on Earth in their thousands, every single day, to attack.

Mike seems nice and docile, but he has a nefarious plan - stop Wonder Woman from attaining spiritual and physical health. Stop her from doing bible study in the mornings (5am get up time), stop her from sleeping enough at night (21h30-21h45) and don't let her near water (1x bottle - 750ml/day)!

3580423-jlwa.png

Rag Doll wants W.W. to flounce around with no strength because ... it's Wonder Woman ... child of God ... strength to beat them all (when properly trained)! She will do everything in her power so Wonder Woman doesn't get to morning or afternoon training. If there is one thing Wonder Woman needs to do, it is keep up and improve on her current strength level after her rib muscle injury. Darkseid is not an easy opponent. She has to do morning exercises (strength) on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, with Self Defense lessons for the children of the Justice League, on a Tuesday afternoon, as well as walk on a Wednesday and Thursday afternoon.

ww-2.png?w=300

Wonder Woman normally uses her Lasso of truth, indestructible bracelets, projectile tiara, sword, and shield in a fight, but Bruce Wayne a.k.a. Batman, would prefer her to become proficient with a fire arm as well. Therefore she is to wear her f.a. of choice (CZ75B) at least three times a week on her when going out (EDC / concealed carry), and do dry fire training. And all this while being her usual stylish self (makeup / style-ish dress - dress right and nicely for the situation - 3x per week).

Lastly, but not the least, she has to sort out her finances, as the Paradise Islands are in ruins, and they can't spare a dime for Princess Diana to live on while saving the world. Themyscira has to be rebuilt from the ground up, ready to face Darkseid when he comes in 11 weeks. If anyone can do it, the Amazons can.

Together with her  team (NF friends) she will face the parademons who are already on Earth. To win the prize, Wonder Woman a.k.a. Diana of Themyscira, must reach at least 80% for each goal in 4 weeks. Pass for each goal is +-75% :ambivalence:

  1. Spiritual and Physical Health: (80% of 28 days = 22 days) (Pass = 20 days)
    • Bible study (First 15 and sermons/daily reading) - get up at 5am to do it.

    • Water - drink at least 1x bottle (750ml) per day, and unofficially cut back on coffee again.
    • PRIZE: A new Clive Cussler book.
  2. Exercise: (80% of 24 training sessions = 19 training sessions) (Pass =  16 training sessions)

    • Afternoon exercises  - Tu. We. Th.
    • PRIZE: 2x new weight plates.
  3. Fire arms and Style:

    • Dry fire training - 3x/wk
    • Dress stylish for the situation - make up when appropriate, neat exercise clothes when outside in public view, neatly dressed when out in public in general, at least 3x/wk (i.o.w. don't dress frumpy!)
    • PRIZE: For each 3x dressed and/or makeup put on, I can buy 1x accessory. (Pass = 9x)
    • PRIZE: For 8x dry fire training and/or edc I can choose something at the gun shop. (Pass = 16x)

Another great challenge!

Privileged to have you both here as part of my League (and accountabillibuddies). :loyal::love_heart:

--------------------------------------------------------------

Monday and Tuesday were early mornings, but no exercises. I got it done this morning (Wednesday) to see how I'm doing for time and how much strength I've lost/what is my starting level.

Wednesday strength:

  • Joint circles: 5x each direction (neck, shoulders, middle, knees, ankles)
  • High knees with twist: 10x each side
  • Tricep band pull down: 3x10
  • Knees push ups/Knees diamond push ups: do one set of normal knees push ups, then one set of diamond push ups, repeat 3x10 for each. I got 9n | 10d | 8n | 10d and couldn't do a third set for either form. With diamond push ups I didn't go as low as normal knee push ups (right down), but will get there.
  • Flutter kicks: 2x 2x15
  • Russian twists: 1x15 @ 5kg
  • High plank to toe touch: 1x15 (ouch!)
  • Cobra -> Downward dog: 3x from Cobra into Downward dog, back to Cobra into Dw-dog...
  • Sit-twist stretch: 2x my absolute go-to to stretch almost all the muscles. I pull the toes of the straight leg up, to stretch the back muscles of that leg as well.

Not too bad, except for push ups. The programme says to start with 5x8, so I guess I am trying to start a little higher at 6x10, so almost managing 4x10 isn't too bad actually. Both has 40 reps of pushups.

Mani's daughter in law had a parcel delivered at our home for them. She had bought three new comforter sets for their home. Couriers don't deliver in the township/Sweetwaters area. I sent a message yesterday to tell them about the parcel, but Brandt and I realised last night already that there was no way they would be able to take this huge box on a bus or taxi, so I took them and their parcels back home. I couldn't drive up to their house, as the road is non-existent, but I dropped them off in the main street just below, so they didn't have a long way to walk.

The place where Brandt and the other rally guys staid over this past weekend, gave Brandt a Motorist Prayer card, which I found in the car this morning.

Each time I drive Lord, may I feel your hand on mine upon the wheel.

Give me the careful, watchful eye for young and old as I drive.

Keep me from speeding needlessly, passing earth's beauties heedlessly.

I want to use this car for YOU to drive my family with safety.

But all these things can never be unless -

O Lord, You drive with me.

Isn't it beautiful?

Hope you all have a good day.

Awesome to have you here!

Seriously? 5x8 is easier? Mmm, of course it is 2x reps less. You just made my day! Thank you!

I can do 8 reps easily enough. At 9th rep my arms are unhappy and straining but trying to push up for the 10th is like "no way Hosay".

Got a nice walk in this afternoon, but it was terribly hot. Dry heat. So I stopped after a while having done only 3.63km in 38min. I did see that my avg walking speed has increased from 5.05km/hr end of January, to 5.68km/hr. So there is a slight improvement there. Otherwise my lymph nodes under my chin on the right are sore. I'm taking some Tonsolite and extra vit.C to up my immunity just in case. I do NOT want to come down with something right now.

------------------------------------

I had a bit of an eventful morning. Snippie (our old Jack Russell) and Rosebud (the new young Maltese) got a hold of one another again this morning. As I pulled them apart, Snippie let go of Rosebud and got hold of my arm instead! I have two not so nice, but unfortunately deep, puncture wounds and a scrape or two. Cleaned it, put T-tree oil on, and took Pegasus Bites to stop any possible infections, and I think it helps a bit with shock. Went to a local medical centre where we are unfortunately not patients/clients (our homeopath doesn't do Tetanus injections), and for all their anxiety about infections and rabies, etc. it still took me almost an hour to get through admin and payments, then some more waiting to see the dr. and then some more waiting to see the actual sister for the injection and clean up. Then some more waiting at the pharmacy to get the antibiotics prescription filled. Due to the huge Rabies scare in our country (and especially in our province and town with all the monkeys around, and now the bats too), the dr. gave me a double dose of antibiotics. And as my last Tetanus shot was probably about 10+ yrs ago I knew that had to be done. It wasn't serious in the sense of big gaping wounds, because I held my arm still until she let go. Two and half hours later I got home. So no school for the boys today (except if emergency treatment at home counts, and that is not the chocolate variety) and their sport coach cancelled cricket this afternoon, so no sport.

I did buy myself some chocolates because they are medicine at times like these ;) and as Tank said:

I'll be honest and admit it hurts. Not enough to drink a pain pill, but it is a constant ache. I should probably also not continue to use the arm so much, but well, I needed to drive and fix lunch, and type here, I'm not good at using only one hand for typing... and get some things done around the house. Nothing coffee can't cure. I bought chocolates, but haven't touched it yet. Now is the right time for a real book and coffee, don't you think?

Gonna have to disagree. This was the only Thor stand alone movie that I enjoyed. I didn't think he was a clown at all. But, to each their own.

I am glad you got a tetanus and antibiotics. Dogs mouths are almost as dangerous as cats or... the worst... humans. Antibiotics are wise especially when they're deep.

I actually can't remember the 2nd one too well, looked over Adam's shoulder and half of the time couldn't make heads or tails of the story. I liked the story in this 3rd movie, how everything unfolded, just not the way Thor acted a lot of the time. *shrug* As you say, to each their own.

I have no problem using meds other than homeopathic, but it must be for something serious. She gave me Macropen (penicillin) 500mg, which I have to take 2 of 3x/day. The medical aid refused to pay as they said the dosage was too strong, but the pharmacy got it on someway somehow. I only had to pay in a little bit. It burned terribly this afternoon. I saw that the whole area under the plasters (band aid?) and the see-through waterproof plaster was red, hot and swollen! I think it might have been a sensitivity reaction to either the cleaning solution the sister used, or the plasters. I took it off, washed everything off with water and the bottom bite started bleeding again, then put t-tree oil on and Frozen plasters. Yeah, kids in the house, we don't have adult plasters except those serious gel ones. Well between Elsa and Ana they got rid of the symptoms and my arm calmed down. I was actually cradling it against my chest most of the time. Didn't even make dinner tonight. Told Brandt and the boys it is leftover pork sausages, chicken, dry wors and biltong. They had no problems with that. Anyway, as Brandt got home, Snippie again tried to get a hold on Rosebud, and I gave her such a hiding. :( But again bumped and hurt my arm so spent a good couple of minutes gulping down air not to cry.

Thanks, I haven't been bitten much, think this is the 3rd or 4th time in all my life, and each was accidental, but the last time like this was maybe 20yrs ago? Snippie got hold of my thumb the other day, but that wasn't bad.

1 hour ago, Tanktimus the Encourager said:

I like Ragnarok as well, I thought it was the best of Thor's three movies. As for the Dogs, instead of pulling them apart what about spraying them with the hose?

Unfortunately the first time today was inside the house. Even if it was outside, it would take such a long time to actually get the hosepipe out and connected to a tap that it isn't worthwhile because the other dogs will join in by then, but a hard, continued stream of water would work. I've thrown water on Snippie often before, inside and outside the house (buckets, or from our water bottles that were there at the time); she let's go, then Rosebud grabs hold of her, then the other dogs try to budge in, so it is just quicker to grab their collars and pull them apart. I told Brandt tonight that I'm at the point to take Snippie to the vet. Sometimes it is Rosebud who starts the nonsense, because these two really don't like each other. Both alpha females, snippety and trying to be in charge and get the attention. Snippie has never been an easy dog, and never really made friends with other dogs, only tolerated Missy. Now with the young dogs and her failing heart which is making her even more grumpy, not to mention when a storm is close ... *sigh*, I really think it is time to speak to the vet again. If she accidentally gets hold of the boys ...? She might not be exactly on death's door at the moment, so the vet wasn't keen when she saw her last, but I really think it is better for all involved. And I'm able to admit I should maybe have waited until later to get young dogs again.

Not much else got done today. Had coffee and read the last book of the trilogy: Twiceborn Endgame by Marina Finlayson.

Glad to have you here, Jakkals.

I'm also always covered in nicks and scratches, although I don't wrestle with the dogs, but them jumping up on me, or friendly playing is enough to cause those.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Huge storm last night. Had to hold Snippie throughout the night as she wanted to get up and do I don't know what, but she went over to the young dogs every time, so I thought it won't play out well. Eventually the second Stressaway pill calmed her down and we fell asleep. Woke again in the early morning hours. Realised the neighbour was off to work/police station and I could fall asleep again!

Got up at 4h50 (thank you @lucky fire dragon I didn't want to, but you made me realise it made more sense, and I'm awake anyway) made coffee, and started watching #4 on Uncommon. It kept cutting out after they sang the one song (Your name is Victory), so I got up and started exercising. I admit I didn't really want to, sort of decided beforehand that I'll rather watch the whole sermon. Seems there were other plans for me. In the 20min. I had left, I managed the following:

  • Joint circles: 5x each way
  • High knees twist: 10x both sides
  • Bear crawl: 4x4m
  • Front lunges: 2x10 @5kg
  • Diagonal lunges: 8x instead of 2x10. I was interrupted by the dogs starting to play on my exercise mat, then the boys and hubby getting up. So I stopped. My legs were actually rather jelly at this point. I only have to do the deadlifts and stretches still, so am contemplating fitting them in later today maybe with an extra set of diag.lunges.
  • Deadlifts (phase1): 3x10 @28kg
  • Sit-twist stretch: 2x
  • Tricep/Shoulder stretches: 2x each stretch

Going to phone the vet now to get some advice. She said previously she isn't allowed to talk us one way or the other, but she can say that she agrees or doesn't agree, but eventually the decision is ours. My arm is red and hot, with clear drops coming out the holes, but it isn't as sore and burning as it was yesterday afternoon.

Summary so far, although this doesn't count for the challenge yet, just a warm up and to get things sorted. I'm contemplating changing the prize to one big prize because I found out that the makeup class is R750/3hrs session, where she teaches you day and early evening makeup. Has a look at what you've got, what needs to change (colours for your season), etc. etc. (and of course you can buy the makeup from her). I'm not sure how to work qualifying for the prize then, as it is a lot of money, but something I feel I really need to be able to become comfortable with wearing makeup and making myself look nice. Any suggestions?
