As soon as I got home, I put a hat on my son and took him on a walk to the nearby school and park where, to his delight, we saw TWO big dogs, and TWO small dogs,  all of whom let him pat them awkwardly without giving him face kisses. We also touched a tree, to learn about evergreen needles.  It was pretty awesome.

Just feeding him now. Once he's asleep,  I'll have a grains and lentils bowl with broccoli to get my greens in.

Not too bad.

I brought my hammer to work, thinking I might have an easier time getting to it at work than in the mornings, when I have to take care of the smol (Thanks for the idea, Sloth tE!) . I even eat my breakfast at work these days.

Printing labels for it now.

I just did! I didn't want to go out into the yard, because we have visiting VIPs, so I slipped down to the boiler room.

and can I just say - I feel badass, playing with a sledgehammer in a utility room. It's like a training montage out of a superhero movie.

I was looking for a gif of Batfleck's Crossfitting in the batcave, but can't find it.

I didn't quite get to 14 minutes, because I haven't played with my hammer since well before smol's birthday. But I'm counting it, and mean to go on and up!

My husband really jumped on the bandwagon, and we all went out for a walk last night!

Bad news - my stupid temporary crown fell out just after lunch today. So now my mouth is crazy sensitive, and the dentist can't see me to put it back in until tomorrow. They say to just chew on the other side of my mouth, but I'm worried about broccoli bits ending up somewhere they shouldn't. I may have to smoothie my greens today, but the idea of cold freaks me out, too. So I'm not sure. Just mad. At no one in particular, just mad that my tooth is jacked up.

Thanks! I failed to get greens yesterday - I was too scared to try much of anything, and ended up eating mashed potatoes and hummus for dinner. I got the crown re-cemented this morning, and it's feeling ok, though still cold sensitive. We're having dinner at my dad and stepdad's, and there's always a good spread of veggies, so I should be back on track.

Last night, got my dance class in, and I'm counting my tribal fusion class for "rolls" practice, because we did so many rolls and waves, plus pop and lock versions of rolls and waves.

Today is the MOST GORGEOUS WEATHER EVER - it's cool and grey and rainy, but just enough to not need an umbrella. I hate that I am sitting at a desk right now. I opened all the windows in the room, but I just want to be out there.

Glad you got the tooth fixed .Nice that you called a cool grey rainy day wonderful weather. I tend to not like the rain, so it's nice to be reminded that some people enjoy it.  For photos, I have to use photo bucket or some outside photo service.

Crossing fingers ....  My hubby discovered a cracked tooth this week, and so I made a lovely carrot & leek soup yesterday for dinner.  But working around dental issues makes for a challenge with meal planning.

Starting Week two! Week one went ok, I got greens every day except the one where my tooth made me too scared to try, 2/3 walks, 1/3 Hammer workouts, 2/3 dancing times. No batch cooking week one.

Week two has a fun, specific challenge: Passover starts on Friday night, and we're flying to LA for the Seder with family. So this week has to be cleaning and donating any chametz (leaven) in the house, and hopefully prepping something to bring with us. Or that can stay frozen and be edible when we get back. Maybe a mina*?

My son really loved the walks, and he had fun dancing with me and the other ladies. I bet if I put baby socks over my zils, I could practice with him.

*Mina is a layered, baked casserole made with matzah rather than noodles, kind of like a Passover lasagna. It's actually really handy, because store-bought matzah  fits perfectly into a square baking dish.

T'is hardly a 'recipe' really but I just discovered this:

Cabbage.

  • Chop it up however you like. I went with strips bc why not
  • You got some kinda fat like olive oil or melted butter? Drizzle it all over the cabbage.
  • Smoked Paprika + Onion Powder. On the cabbage.
  • Mix it up until everything's coated
  • Throw that stuff (on a pan) into a an oven at approximately Really Hot Temperatures (about 425F)
  • Roast it til it's done (cooked through + slightly charred)

Meanwhile, Potato

  • honestly just do whatever you usually do to make mashed potatoes???? (Mine was just Potato + vegan butter + salt + soymilk + drops of mustard)

and then just. eat these things together. Heck, mix them if you like.

*cries a little* it's good it's nice it took me from "Only Larabars sound remotely appealing today" to "HEY WOW I'M ACTUALLY FEELIN IT THIS IS GOOD STUFF RIGHT HERE RIGHT HERE"

then again smoked paprika in general is mighty and powerful and makes things really tasty so it could just be a Smoked Paprika thing and not actual quality idk

Cross posting from the renjrfudbuk so I don't forget to try it.

I wanted to post this recipe before I forgot. This is a non-paleo meal because of the legumes (beans)

My boss had a birthday this past weekend and on Friday we did a huge potluck for her. I made her her favorite dish...like "This would be my last meal on earth" kind of dish. The funny thing, it's really simple. Yay for simple!

This is a crockpot meal, but can be cooked on the stove as well. Set crockpot for 4-6hrs

2 cans of white beans

2 cans of garbanzo beans

1lb of chorizo sausage-3x links if you buy them this way

4 strips of bacon (or ham hock)

1 large bag of spinach

Throw the beans in 1st. While that's starting to cook, get your bacon ready. I like cooking mine in the oven on 350 for about 12-15 min. Cover the beans and bacon in water, just below completely submerging them. Then, get your chorizo ready. Peel the thin layer on the sausage and fry up the whole batch on medium heat. Once that's good and cooked, add the whole thing into the crockpot. Put the lid on and let the magic happen. After the time has elapsed, your dish should be smelling pretty damn good. Before you serve, add in 2-3 handfuls of spinach. Let that simmer for about 10-15 min and voila! Apparently this is a Cuban dish my boss used to get when she lived in Florida. It was my 1st time making it but she LOVED it. I think she ate like 2 bowls of it lol. The combo of chorizo and bacon alone make this worth making. In fact, it's so good, I'm gonna make it again for my wife and kids this week!

How have I not been on this thread? Whatiswrongwitme?

I need meat grenades in my life.

I've seen a number of posts about breakfasts and bulk breakfasts in particular.

I have the same thing every week day for breakfast - a fatty protein smoothie loaded with veggies. This sucker fills me up until lunch (I eat breakfast around 8:30 and lunch at 12:30), has a fair amount of protein, and ensures that I at least get *some* vegetables in during the day. We've recently been upping the avocado content and playing with adding turmeric root, to good success.

These keep in the fridge fine for 2 days (the longest I've tried keeping them), though they do tend to thicken up upon standing so I would suggest pre-portioning. I drink mine with a straw; the DH gulps his.

Hey guys- I wanted to post this recipe for some protein cookies I make. I call them "Apollo Cookies".

1 cup of sunflower butter

2 bananas- mashed

Add in a scoop or 2 of protein powder

1 egg, whisked

1/3 cup of honey

1/2 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp baking soda

1 tsp of vanilla extract

1/4 tsp of cinnamon

Pinch of salt

1/2 cup of dark chocolate chips

... And wait for it,

2-3 strips of cooked bacon! The bacon is something new I've added and it's it's just wonderful. Obviously.

Preheat the oven to 350- mix all the ingredient except cooked bacon and dark chocolate chips. Add those in after you've stirred it up well.

94f0a68b1b6dc7a7a12e6e6c2676a021.jpg

If you have an ice cream scoop, use that to glob them on a non stick pan or I like to use coconut oil spray if you need something. Cook for about 15-17 min and voila!
