The dragon flees for its life, but may return one day to threaten the monastery again!

 

 

Welcome to the March-April kettlebell mini-challenge! The rules for playing are simple.

 

Each week on Sunday, check in with how you did on your kettlebell goals, and the boss's health will be updated to reflect the damage!

 

Don't have a kettlebell? No problem! Do goblet squats or TGUs or deadlifts with a dumbbell! (We do NOT advise using a dumbbell for swings!!!)

 

Values are:

Kettlebell Swing -->              2 damage

Kettlebell Deadlift -->           5 damage

Goblet Squat -->                    7 damage

Turkish Get-Up -->                10 damage

 

Let's go get 'em, Monks!

Kettlebell deadlifts are a great and underrated movement that are totally good for teaching hinge mechanics if you're not comfortable swinging. I'm also a fan of goblet squatting even for noobs, although I might recommend starting out light and making sure you can keep your posture.

03/20: 15 goblet squats, 100 swings. If I'm mathing right, that's 320 points in a blow. TABEROU! RYUU! (translation: eat that, dragon!)

So I was looking around for kettlebell swing workouts to see if I could make this work, and I found this thing. Couldn't complete the whole thing, but managed to climb to 4 a few times with a 53. 40 swings and 40 goblet squats: 360 points in a blow.

So far this week, I think I am up to 144 swings for the last five days.  I am hoping to get some extra swings in this weekend.  288 points against the dragon!

Am I too late to join?  5 sets of 10 swings and two sets of 5 turkish getups.  so at least 100 points from me from this last week!

Wow, nice job Monks! We did 3,237 damage this week! That's a serious hit!


You'll notice that we took a chunk off its life bar, but we're only part of the way there! We're gonna have to focus in hard if we want to take this sucker down. xD

 

Anybody get caught in the fire this week? (I think I did, my attack took a lot out of me haha.) If you have questions about the movements, what we're doing or how you can join in, feel free to post here in the thread. It's never too late to come out of meditation to defend the monastery! :D

Sunday: Swing and Goblet Squat Ladders: 3x1-5 for a total of 45 swings and goblet squats both. 405 points.
