ElvenEngineer Hunts Monsters

Okay, so far 2018 has been a terrible year for me personally.

 

That's about to change.

That's right, we're going to kill the monsters. But first we have to find them!

First, the Barroth:

This monster is big and hits hard, but is also kind of slow so easy to dodge and roll around.

 

We are going to focus on the big and hits hard part - I signed up for a powerlifting meet on June 23rd! So I'm going to get all my workouts in so I can be BIG and STRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Workouts: 3 a week (can include dancing in an effort to be more agile than a Barroth)

 

Second, the Kulu-Ya-Ku

Very resourceful, prone to stealing things, usually food or rocks.

 

I'm doing badly with that whole eating thing again, but to get strong I need to eat things! So I am going to log SOMETHING in MFP every day, or may the Kulu-Ya-Ku steal all my rocks. 

 

 

 

Third, the Anjarath:

This thing is terrifying and has a tendency to just.... show up when you are TRYING to fight something else, ugh (can you tell that's happened to me?)

 

So the point of this second quest is to.... show up. Sometimes my brain tries to convince me that if I'm going to be late to something, I might as well not go at all.

This is basically never true, so thanks brain weasels.  No real measurements, but I'm going to try to document when the brain weasels tell me to just not do something (aka the robotics meet i judged this weekend, I still went and was 10 whole minutes late, but everyone was SUPER happy I was there so HA brain weasels!). And maybe my friends here will give me some kudos :D

New meet!!! Yay much excite! And just showing up. That's basically my tactic for getting out of bed in the morning. Do it when I can, do it when I can't... and it's true, I'm always much happier when I do. <3 you!

Logged foodz in MFP today, went to the gym, about to head to swing dancing (I also went to swing dancing yesterday because I was feeling lonely).

Bench:

6/4/5/4/4 at 70#

10/10 at 55#

Stretching

Swing!

 

I didn't go into the office today, I was having major sads, but I did work from home even though my brain weasels were like, if you don't go into  the  office what even is the point. Which is dumb, because a lot of people in my group work from home. Silly brain weasels. But I got a lot done!

So I went dancing Tuesday and Wednesday, and am going again tonight - trying to not hermit and introvert.

 

Gym'd Wednesday also, and plan to gym tomorrow :)

 

Have logged most days, missed one day because I made a mental note of something to log and just thought I had done it *shrug* no big deal. I actually logged TWO meals today!

 

Brain weasels be brainweaseling, no progress to report.

Friday: Hung out with friends, let friend know I would be late rather than just cancelling though that was tempting (victory over brain weasels). Between me and T we drank two bottles of wine while playing board games, it was great. Then I crashed with her and went home in the morning.

 

Saturday: Went dancing! Let people into my apartment even though it's a mess. Much fun was had even if both the friends I was with were a little sad for different reasons.

 

Lifted yesterday, saw Red Sparrow (was kind of disappointed by the writing but I actually really liked JLaw's acting, though I preferred Atomic Blonde overall)

 

Deadlift: 5/6/5 at 105#

Lunges: 3x10 bodyweight

Leg Press: 10/10/10/10/10 at 50#

V-Ups (ABZ): 3x10

 

Week 1 Summary:

2 lifting days, 3 dancing days

Logged in MFP most days

Several brain weasel victories
