Ok guys, I know I'm late to this challenge. Once again I'm in a rut. I've been eating horribly. Yesterday I ate out for all three of my meals and went to the vending machine. 

 

This challenge is about small changes in the right direction. It's going to be simple and to the point. 

 

I feel like I keep doing well for a short period of time, then falling back into old habits over and over again. I know I'm gaining weight again, but I'm afraid to look at the scale. I need to be held accountable and have encouragement from my peeps. I seem to be most successful when I'm posting on these forums, so here I go again. I'm NOT giving up. 

 

My strategy is to pick on thing each week that I will do something better than I have been and build on that. It can be something as small as eating 1 piece of fruit each day. 

 

Let's do this! 

 

Week 1 Goal: Eat a healthy breakfast 

Recently I've been stopping by McDonald's on the way to work because I haven't been waking up early enough to cook breakfast. Well, I bought some instant hot cereal packets to keep at work for when I'm running late. I'm going to start by eating a healthy breakfast. That is my one goal for this first week. (first week that I'm starting, not week 1 of the challenge... as I'm late. lol.)

Welcome back, and good plan!       I am definitely not eating McDonald's while I read this.   >.>    

 

The good / not good / good / not good cycle is not an entity attached only to you.    I think this winter has been extra hard on people; I see a lot of mehs and blehs and ruts.    I'd even suggest adding a secondary, don't have to think too much about goal mantra this week.     "I do not hide from my peeps when things aren't working.   I huddle in closer and ride out the storm."

This is a great start, Rhia. Small changes and keeping it simple is usually a recipe for success. Make it so, girlfriend! :)

I definitely need to stop hiding when things get tough. I'm going to update everyone every day as thing go along. I'm trying to find the positivity in things. I could use all the positive vibes you can send. Cute pictures of ducklings definitely counts as positive! Need all the peeps help!

This morning I'm feeling much better than I have been. My cravings are down. I have more energy. I ate a healthy breakfast this morning. All good so far! 

 

Breakfast was 2 fried eggs, 2 pieces of bacon, and a handful of grapes. Back to my usual breakfast. 

 

I also felt awake enough to do my hair instead of put it back in a pony tail. Now I"m sipping on some hot tea and am determined to drink more water today! 

 

Hopefully I can keep up this momentum!

Hell yeah! I'm turning things around and getting back on track! I'm going to do it slowly though. Do some of the intuitive eating stuff as well. Don't deny myself, but instead eat what my body actually wants.

Wednesday, March 28, 2018 Update:

 

So, as I said, yesterday I had a good healthy breakfast. The rest of my day wasn't terribly healthy, but I DID drink more water than I have been and I stayed away from the soda. I'm calling that a win all around. 

 

Today, Thursday, I'm starting off the day with instant oatmeal/hot cereal to keep myself from going to McDonald's again. I did have a moment where I was tempted, but decided against it. My goal for today is again to drink more water and stay away from soda. One step at a time! 

 

So, for lunch today I'm supposed to meet with my boss and the president of the company. I'm pretty sure the supervisors are all getting raises, so I'm excited! I'm not sure what else we will talk about though. Probably my trip to Australia. Wish me luck, guys!

Good luck!  Trip to Oz?   Is it work related or a personal trip?   That's so exciting!   I want to see some far away places but I am unsure how I will tolerate LOOOONG flights.    You'll have to share your tips with me.   I need to at least get to Hawaii - there are some national parks there. 

 

One step at a time.   I still haven't FINISHED the dumb book hah.   I am trying to learn to do a combo of listening to my body, but also using my brain to keep some restraint on me.  Mostly because I know I am eating for other reasons when I start going against the belly.     Right now I haven't mastered things enough to just do it.   At least now I am using good terms to evaluate my food and response to hunger/moods.

 

A learning process.   Or PRO-cess as the Canadians would say!
