anyone? no? okay cool. i've been having lots of fun and pretending money isn't real. it's the best! but also i want to throw a huuuuuge party in august (ahem, a wedding, if you will) and that costs monies. taking this challenge to cool it on the spending and ratchet in on planning.

 

GOAL 1: go outside once per week – a deliberate outdoor walk or activity. this costs no money and the weather is finally turning.

GOAL 2: participate in the warrior mini – zero week: track water consumption! also free. thank you, city water department.

GOAL 3: don’t buy a drink at a bar for at least two weeks (or until 5/6). i can have a drink with dinner if i'm out. i can drink at homes. but gods below, a drink at a bar costs a lot of money! (i say "a drink" but it's usually like... way more than that)

 

roll over goals:

  • track restaurant food
  • track fiber
  • track yoga
  • track workouts

4/21: buy rings, finalize outfits for us and party

4/28-4/29: meet with venue, rehearsal dinner restaurant, and brunch restaurant; shop for welcome bag goodies; roam beach for shells/rocks

5/6: 5K and Fair

5/11: massage

5/12: hair and makeup trial

5/13: hike!

5/19: royal wedding party

5/20: volunteer at a race

how about some ZERO WEEK updates?!

 

Week 0 – Monday

 

got home at ~2am from the airport

went to a friends house for a boston marathon brunch at 10am

went grocery shopping and also picked up a new living room lamp. ours has been finicky for way too long

washed, dried, and folded a ton of laundry

divvied up breakfasts for the week, divvied up lunches, made a pot of lentil soup, AND got my tires replaced

 

Week 0 – Tuesday

 

ran on the treadmill in the morning: 32 mins; 2.77 miles; 128 ft climbed

did 60 reps of shoulder PT exercise throughout the day

did yoga for 11 minutes

water: 72oz

 

cooked chicken thighs and brussel sprouts for dinner. got a load of laundry in the wash and SO transferred it over to the dryer. oh and turns out SO really likes the dairy-free halo top?? blech.

 

Week 0 – Wednesday

 

did a 30 minute HIIT and glutes fitness blender video: goblet squats, RDLs, hip thrusts

did 100 reps of shoulder PT exercise throughout the day

did yoga for 11 minutes

water: 84oz

 

for dinner I cooked up a sausage, spinach, brussel sprouts, and quinoa bowl. I should’ve folded laundry but didn’t. OH AND! my pregnant friend was induced and is sloooowwwwlllllyyy having contractions.

avg daily fiber (g): 44.5

yoga: 22

 

was going to go for a run outside this morning but it was too cold. maybe friday morning if SO doesn't get up for the gym. if we do go to the gym, i can take the dog for a nice walk friday night. it's also supposed to be sunny on saturday too so i have options!

surprisingly - it can be good! somehow the stars aligned so much so that there was a DELICIOUS frozen yogurt/dairy free ice cream place near my college. and they delivered.

The coconut based ones can be good if you like coconut.

Oh, I just meant dairy free in general rather than the HT ones specifically. I feel like the Halo Top ones are one ingredient substitution TOO FAR from real ice cream for them to possibly be good.

Oh, and following, so I can say snarky things about wedding planning. Like how I personally found it obnoxious and how getting married was fun, but being married somehow seems like the better of the two.

ready for the rest of ZERO WEEK updates?

 

Week 0 – Thursday

 

did a 18 minute HIIT video

did 100 reps of shoulder PT exercise throughout the day

water: 84oz

SO was at work until 9:30p so I went for a short walk with the pup, folded laundry, made chicken with coleslaw and veggie onion rings, and went to bed

 

Week 0 – Friday

 

slept in!

did 70 reps of shoulder PT exercise

water: 76oz

went in to visit our friends who just had a baby! Birth stories are not to be trifled with and also should probably be talked about more.

ate pretzels on the way in and then had some leftover chicken with coleslaw at home

 

Week 0 – Saturday

 

went grocery shopping, made & brought some food for friends in the hospital

went out for BBQ right nearby and Michael Symon was there filming! food was great.

we bought some fancier rings than the silicone ones we’ve been wearing and finalized a few other things

went to our friends house to pick up glassware that they had used at their wedding! yesss recycling. ended up having to spend ~$6 at the dollar store to finish up our glassware count.

we cooked them dinner as payment – beef plov with brown rice. delicious but needed a bit more spice. sriracha fixed it.

did 30 reps of shoulder PT exercise

water: 48oz (a bit more than that but I didn’t track)

 

Week 0 – Sunday

 

slept in until 11am for almost 9hrs – yusss

meal prepped bfasts and lunches

folded moar laundry

got a couple décor items/welcome bag contents at xmas tree shop and got the rest of the glassware at a dollar store.

the glassware will all be filled with rocks and water and the wood boxes will be lined with sand!

 

got SO’s shoes too!

packed up the décor we had into neat/labeled boxes

got chipotle and ice cream for dinner because of how dang productive we felt

did 20 reps of shoulder PT exercise

water: 48oz

yoga: 22

 

so zero week was truuuue zero week! caught up on sleep and got outside intentionally for a bit. worked out and did a smidge of yoga. could stand more yoga and keeping up with PT on the weekends. I tracked my water and didn’t drink at a bar! I didn’t even get a drink at bbq place. the sweet tea was perfectly wonderful.
