HELLOOOOO MY ASSASSINSSSSSS!

 

So, I have decided to go light on exercise related  goals and take on a bit of a personal boss-battle this round, MY RIDICULOUSLY CLUTTERED BEDROOM. I seriously have SO MUCH clothing in particular. PILES of clothes ALL THE PILES, and as I think "hmm it would be cool to maybe think about dating again sometime" I also look at my room and think "GOOD GOD I AM NOT BRINGING A DUDE BACK HERE EVER ACK." I need to be a damn adult and actually prioritize my time for cleaning and decluttering!  Step one shall be wardrobe and if I get that done this challenge I will update and move on to another part of the room!

 

BOSS BATTLE - TRASH HEAP

BOSS BATTLE SUB GOALS:

STEP 1 - Gather all random clothes piles in my room into one big pile

STEP 2 - Sort giant pile into 3 piles - LOVE IT/KEEP, NOT SURE/TRY ON, and TRASH/DONATE

 

I'll add more  sub-goals here as I think of them!

 

GOAL 2 - Cardio!

I totally failed at this one last round WOOPS. My goal for this one is cardio at least 4x a week. If that is just 5 min of jump roping that's still something! (I'd actually like to aim for a 5 min of jump roping every day goal. but I was to start smaller/less days and if I happen to do every day then yay. This also leaves room to work this around my rather busy regular exercise schedule.

 

I'm keeping it super basic for now with just the 2 goals unless I think of something small and manageable to add in here!

or.. or... you could find a dude who is happy with your average cluttering level ... it could even be a trait you have in common :lol:
But yeah, on a first date, we always want to impress, I know  :P

I feel like this was a lot easier to get a way with when I was in my 20s! I also hate how cluttered my space is so it's also for me! Clutter didn't bother me in my younger years but now it does but now it has had YEARS to continue getting crazier. Lol.

Not challenge related buuut I discovered last night that I can do single arm hangs finally! Not for a super long time but while I was loitering about chatting with my trainer last night I decided to try and I can hang for at least 10 seconds from each hand. I've tried this only on a hard apparatus (rings) so I'm not sure if I could do it on silks (I'm guessing no since gripping silks is way harder!)

Yo 1-arm hold /check! 10 secs is very good though, it's a milestone in my opinion. Silks grip is an evil b*- beast :D
And ha ha I like how you keep hitting all the shinies that are NOT in your goals :D

Hahahahaha. Indeed! I feel like I am on a roll with awesome accomplishments lately!  These were all definitely related to past goals though, but they are now part of ingrained habits that are part of my day to day life style! I'm trying to stick to making my goals on the stuff I know I suck at and that aren't habits yet!

 

I am amused though that I finally got a one arm hang when I haven't specifically been working towards that (I'd guess being able to lift super heavy shit helps with this because I certainly have not gotten any lighter!!!)

 

Also silks grip is SO UGHHHHH. It doesn't help that our current person teaching my aerial class doesn't really teach silks very much so we've been doing a lot of trap, lyra and hammock. She does usually throw up a silk for us to at least practice climbs though. (We've had a sub for a month or so. My normal teacher from prior to this looooves silks.)  I need to actually be working on my baby silk at home I have on my pull up bar for silk grip work!

I see, you plant your little seeds via challenges, and they blossom some time later. That makes sense actually. 4 weeks is sometimes too short to see a huge difference, and then one day bam :D

I would think so yes, that grip power can be trained with both pull and push.

Last challenge, I did a bit of sling for a change. And yes it's less grippy maybe, but ouch it can be pretty mean. I got really sore and bruised from it!

Does sling = hammock? I do those a lot! Not as grippy as silks for sure but it works it some at least! All the bruises though! Well...I guess I get all the bruises pretty much doing any aerial stuff haha. It's not quite as bruisy as lyra and trapeze!

Yes hammock! I got mostly bruised by the front balance and twisting about. I don't get bruised that much on the type of front balances that are done on silks somehow.

I'm not a trapeze or lyra person at all, I did them in class because I had to but yep that's it. Those go into a level of painful that I am really really wimpy about :distress:

I’ve been trying to get the mess under control for years sadly :( I think I just need to break down and throw tons of stuff away and be ruthless about what I keep because my room is an out of control clothing hoarder mess ugh

2 bags of stuff trashed so far and almost done with another one and now I can maybe start figuring out where to move some of the excess furniture and stuff around in part of my room. Next up to sort: rest of my drawers, then the closet and then shoes.

Yep. It took us awhile to get to this point, but ruthless is definitely the word.

Today did a sumo block pull deadlift PR at 295. Wheeee. Someday I will get a from the ground DL at that weight!

I was doing a sumo deadlift stance but instead of doing it from the ground I was doing a block pull. It's a deadlift variation that you can usually lift around I think 20% more than your from-the-ground actual deadlift since you are shortening the range of movement by pulling it from up higher (not as high as a rack pull, so kind of an in between between a deadlift and a rack pull?)

 

Here is an example of a block pull:

He is pulling in conventional deadlift stance in that picture but that is an example of a block pull (my trainer stacks plates to use as the blocks because they don't have these purpose-made deadlift block thingies at my gym.)

He is still super shy and hiding under things but I promise good pictures once he gets a little more outgoing! It's super hard to get a good picture of a tiny kitten hiding far under a bed!

We're not sure!  I am thinking 4-5 weeks or so because he is so tiny, but I haven't had a kitten in a long time so it's hard to say! I am taking the wee one in to the vet tomorrow AM for a check up so they should be able to help me figure out age and figure out if he is for sure a boy etc (SO HARD TO TELL when they are this tiny). BABY KITTTYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY. We decided to name him Sergeant Strudel!
