Split Pea Dal Yields 2 Litres   2 tbsp ghee, or any cooking oil 1 large spanish onion, small dice   3 cloves garlic, minced 2 tbsp tomato paste 1 tsp grated ginger 1 tsp chili paste or sauce of choice 1/2 tsp cumin 1/2 tsp turmeric 1/2 tsp cloves 1/2 tsp cinnamon   1 1/2 cup split peas, rinsed to knock the dust off 4 cups vegetable or chicken stock   Salt & pepper to taste 1 tbsp lime juice
