Jonesy
Last month was pretty hectic for me and kind of an emotional roller coaster and draining. I decided to take a month off and take care of myself but i'm back and ready to get to work. So since last challenge : Spoiler I had to get my house ready for my mother's visit, it was great to have her here but I like my space. Also have been getting a lot of dental work done, and that made me super anxious. I also had been applying and interviewing for a few jobs. I was told I did not get the job I really wanted around May 9th and received no feedback because they really did like us both. At least I got 2 interviews out of that but that sucked. My company announced that we are laying off over 110 people and moving our manufacturing to Kansas. My job is not directly affected but I have a feeling it will be once they complete the move. 80% of my job deals with vendors who come in for the shop floor. Financially I've been overspending and ended up having to pull some money from savings. My birthday was this month and while I love my birthday this one felt a little sadder. I think this had to do with losing out on the job I wanted, it made me think about what I'm doing with my life. I talked to my boss about transitioning my role into an HR Assistant position and while he seemed excited about that direction it doesn't sound like it went over well with the Director of HR. We are losing our benefits person and we don't have anyone to continue her work. I mentioned cross training me to help employees and it was shot down by the director. It didn't make me feel great about my position with the company. The next day I got a call from the job that went with the other person, asking if I was still interested. Based on the previous day's chats, I didn't hesitate to say yes. So now I am in the middle of my 2 weeks notice and I start my new job June 11th. I'm super nervous and excited! I've been so lazy but I need to get back into the challenge grove. I took away a few tasks since some I didn't really need to track. Some are becoming pretty decent habits. This challenge, level 3, I'm going to focus on my morning routine. If you read the spoiler, you know I have some changes coming up. Level 2 and 3 Goals MIGHT change just a little after June 11th. 3 Quote GoodReads MyFitnessPal Spoiler Previous Challenges: 2020: 1.20 - 2019: 1.19 l 2.19 2018: 1.18 l 2.18 l 3.18 l 4.18 l 5.18 l 6.18 l 7.18 2017: 1.17 I 2.17 I 3.17 I 4.17 I 5.17 l 6.17 l 7.17 l 8.17 I 9.17 l 10.17 2016: 1.16 l 2.16 l DA v.1 l DA v.2 I DA v.2 Reloaded I DA v.3 I DA v.4 I 8.16 I 9.16 I DA v.5 I 11.16 2012: 1 2013: 2 l 3 l 4 l 5 l 6 l 7 l 8 2014: 9 l 10 l Not Done Yet l Time to Conquer l Conquering HFC for Life! raptron
Congrats on your new job!!! I'm not sure about removing the stress just yet but I'm excited. Lol. New job has slightly better hours (later start time but same end time), more money, better benefits, retirement program, and I'll be less than a mile from my house. I'm thinking of walking some days during the summer. Since accepting this new job, it's freed me to reflect on my current job. I was in denial so long. While I do love the people I work with and we make a pretty cool product, my job is boring as hell. Without trust from my current team, overall personal growth has become somewhat nonexistent. I didn't realize how much that bummed me out until I had the talk with my boss about doing some more HR related things. It made me realize how much I was not appreciated. Although I will say my current boss is pretty great, I just hope my new one is as well! Jonesy
Not a great start to the week but I honestly didn't even want to start a challenge. I was not prepared for it mentally or physically but I knew I needed to start. Good thing I already have my challenge ideas set up for the next few months. I feel like I'll be better prepared for it next week though. Thursday was the mark of my last week at my current job. I'm getting the senioritis feeling and I just want to be done. I have 2 actual work days next week and have Monday and Tuesday off. That should make the week go by much quicker. Good luck for next week! 1 Thank you! I did ask what happened to the other candidate and all they said was they decided to not move forward. That could mean they did really decide not to go on or something popped up in the background or drug screen. As for the dental work, my dentist and dental hygienists are pretty amazing. We had a good laugh the appointment after I threw up all over the place and paid close attention to my gas levels. I've been slacking for a while but I did make 2 bullet journal spreads and I feel much better now. Lol 14 hours ago, JulietKitsch said: What a whirlwind! I'm glad everything worked out! It was! Jonesy
What a week! I had my last filling appointment with the dentist last Monday. Did some cleaning here and there but still have a lot to do to get back on track. I had lunch meetings with co-workers and then had an awesome send off at work. I was not expecting anything and my wonderful co-workers went above and beyond. They got me a cake that said "Fine.Go." and a singing/dancing gorilla to serenade me with the song, it's the final countdown. The whole lobby was filled with people. It was hilarious, lovely and extremely embarrassing. Lol. The local Jimmy Johns drivers stopped by and gave me a card from them, saying wonderful things. I am super excited for my new job on Monday but saying goodbye was tough. Friday I paid a whole bunch of bills, got my nails done, had a majestic looking drink and then celebrated my new job with a friend with Fondue at the melting pot. Saturday I separated laundry and put some away then went to the Sounders game with my dad. Sunday has been pretty lazy, more laundry, some bujo fun and started to figure out lunches for this upcoming week. Asa Pond
That's the best kind of send off. Much better to be sad than to be excited to go because it means you had people you liked and liked you back. <3 And yay new job! So excited for you!!
