Next day, same story. Things were going really well, I knew we were going out for dinner tonight and planned for that, even had enough calories left for dessert... And then we go to the in-laws and the snacks come out and I should say no but I don't :(. At least I went for a long walk today. 

 

Also my bed time and waking have been having a hard time. I realized that expecting to go to bed early every day in the summer might not be realistic. So I'm still aiming for these times most days, but on nights I'm out I'll set the alarm for 8 hours from when I go to bed and if I get up I'll count that too. No point depriving myself of more sleep than I need to.

Some do, but most don't.  China has a quota on foreign films that can be shown in China each year (I think 49 this year?), and they must be trying to strengthen their relationship with India because there are easily as many Indian films being shown as American ones.  Big ones like Avengers and Star Wars come here, and I think Incredibles 2 will come as well at some point but not sure when (Solo hasn't even opened here yet...).  We don't get ads for them though, so I really don't know what movies are coming unless I actively look it up.

Interesting! That does make things difficult haha. Especially for movie buffs.

At my in-laws again for father's day. Dinner was great, and again I kept things in check up till then, even refused dessert... But then we sat around the fire for a few hours and hot dogs and marshmallows abounded. I did lose a pound this week though, so even though k out perfect, the small efforts I am able to make appear to be enough to keep me on track. Slow and sustainable is the mantra of my PACT plan, so any progress is great.

You do realise that this is an oxymoron, yes? Camping should mean cooking over an open flame!! Anyway, have fun! I'm curious to see whether going to bed and getting up again will be easier while camping...

So I thought I might still have internet where we were camping, but we didn't. Which was definitely nice to disconnect (isn't that what camping is for?) but I also couldn't use any of my regular tracking methods. As such those days are lost to the oblivion and the month is now 4 days shorter haha.

2 issues with that:

1. There was a fire ban because it was too dry (even though it rained on us twice). Worst! So no open flame

2. You've never been camping with my wife! Besides the usual staples that you do cook over an open flame (hot dogs, s'mores, etc.) there is an overabundance of food in general, but also chips, pop, candy, etc. 

 

I did request that she not get any of my particular weaknesses, and there was also lots of fruit and relatively healthy foods, but definitely had some junk too. 

 

Overall I ate too much, but was also more active than usual, so we'll see how the weight turns out tomorrow. As far as sleep, it didn't get dark till past midnight, so going to bed was definitely hard. Waking up on the other hand was forced to be earlier, both by the early light and a severe need to empty the bladder haha. 

 

Overall though I had a great time with my family, which is by far the most important part for me.

This was especially difficult as we have a bunch of leftover sweets from camping, and I went to play board games with friends where there were some sweet snacks. Haha I figured it was semi joking, as was my response. It's always harder to tell in writing though. 

 

I do track on my fitness pal, but not really as part of my goals. Most days this challenge that I was over it wasn't by a ton, but there were a few that were. 

 

As far as alternatives, I've been loving fruit now that it's summer time. At the board games I had chips and guacamole, which while not super healthy wasn't sugar, so fulfils that portion of my goal. I think that's partly what tipped me over the calories though.

I kind of flipped all my goals today haha. The leftover treats finally got to me today, but I kept within calories still, and also threw a bunch of them out, so that's good. I was in bed by 10, but have been reading for 2 hours so 7:00 probably won't happen tomorrow. I did gain 2 pounds this week, which is pretty much expected. Back to your regularly scheduled losses this week.

 

So apparently the challenge is over, but I'll keep posting here through zero week until the month finishes and it's time for my new goals. Thanks for sticking with me!

Good day today. My wife brought home chocolate croissants and I abstained cause I already had some sugar. I'll be coming for one tomorrow though haha. I woke up earlier than my alarm today, so although it was a bit late, the purpose was accomplished as I got some extra stuff done. Actually a pretty productive day. Half way done the new bank account, and started on the diet habits.

A couple extra sweets today, but stated in calorie range. I chose a salad at a restaurant and passed on dessert to do so, which I'm proud of. Trying to learn my lesson that calorífic sweets earlier in the day means not being able to eat what I necessarily want later in the day.
